Car Keys locked in ignition

Not that I once did this but is the car in gear?

 

No its in park,

 

Im gonna get the pi55 took out of me for this, Yes it is in gear what a wolly the key has come out, I was ready to use my AA card too :fool:

I did this on the first day of owning mine, stopped a few hundred yards down the road from the garage I bought it from and had to go back to complain that they'd sold me a duff car because the keys wouldn't come out of the ignition..... oh dear. :blush:

 

Bet that was imbarressing for you, well this is the first Auto I have owned but I have had it for a year now cant believe ive not done this sooner actually.

Just as bad, I once jumped in the car, turned the key and it wouldn't start - just dead. Panicked, called out the AA, he turned up, asked if its was an auto - yes - was it in gear - yes - take it out of gear says he - I do - now turn the key says he - I do, car starts!! He drives off staining himself with laughter, I sit with head in hands for a good hour!!!
