Yup, absolutely love the attention you get from driving a supra slowly through a town :) As others have said it's a car that appeals to nearly everyone :repekt:

There's one group of teenage girls that hang out in the same place nearly every day, if I drive past in the cavalier I get ignored, drive past in the supra and I get stares smiles and the occasional whistle :D Definitive proof that the Supra is far more attractive than me :thanku:

I have to say the celebrity like status of owning a supra can have a downside too...

In a rush to get somewhere...and someone wants to have a two hour in depth converstion on it...so often whilst filling up for petrol..and I see someone coming I quickly run like mad to get back to the car so i dont have to talk to another Supra trainspotter he he.

People expect you to have a race with their 'messed up' Escort at every set of lights!

Often I get tailgaters, they are not doing it on purpose, often they are just trying to see the badge.

When I owned my first Supra people used to call it an 'Old Mans Sports Car' then The Fast and The Furious came about...and then it was 'Cool' the attention has dropped off a bit over the last couple of years through.

In Somerset people tend to scowl at you (but i have always found an unhealthy competitivness and negative feeling generally there with most things)...where as anywhere else people drop their draws, sorry I meant Jaws!

I always seem to get positive reactions, mainly kids shouting rev it, or how much was that.

people ask questions (sometimes i can answer them) say nice car, thumbs up that sort of thing.

only had 1 bad experience, was driving down the road past a bunch of 15 year olds and they threw a beer can at the car, typical bored kids, so i reversed back and gave them a mouthful. funny though the boys ran off and the girls stayed and mouthed back.

the youth of today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p :p

Its so true - Last weekend alone I pulled up to pick up a chinese, and there were a group of about 20 youths all pissing about on their bikes and shouting etc - i was like 'here we go' lets get in and out. When I got back to the car a few of the lads came over and said ' nice car mate - is it an import???' they were quite nice actually, obviously knew some stats from gt4!

I also had a couple of kids on bikes follow me in medium traffic from one side of lincoln to the other waving! it was well funny!did get annoying after a while though!!

I love the attention you get in a Supra.

Before this I drove a *gulp* BMW 3-series, since getting the Supra I noticed right away that I get let out at junctions, people acknowledge you if you let them out, and by far the biggest thing - people just seem to move out of your way on the motorway when you approach them in the 3rd lane. Its great :D

I live in a fairly poor area (Whitley for those who know Reading), but the local kids and chavs love the car. The local Chavs are always approaching and asking politely about details of the car and to take a look at the interior and engine bay - I'm happy to oblige! Now they always give a wave or flash when they see me. Have frequently had some of them approach the car and say "We'll make sure no one damages it", sure enough when I come back from shopping and they're still stood around it! ...best to keep in good books with the locals I think!!!

Best of all is the young kids though. Just before the car went in for a respray I heard a local kid say "mom, thats the car I told you about!". I have to drive past the local comp school on the way to work - I can get 50 odd kids stop, point and smile when I go past. Always dip the clutch and blip the throttle for them of course :D

Yeah have to say the Sup gets a lot of attention kids run out onto road with their phones, heads turn, and it seems to take less time to get out of tricky junctions, as people seem more willing to let you out (that really surprised me). Men stop you and say things like "she is a beuty" then they ask about the engine and when you tell them 3 liters and two turbos, their jaw dropes. Then you tell then "yeah she's not bad for a 10 year old motor, and they think you are telling porkies.

I was at McDonalds drive through the other day and a kid about 16 who was going in came down through the drive through and said, "that car is the king, when you are going out will u spin the tubes". Thought he was just going to go in and look out the window, but oh no, he stood out on the road with camera phone at the ready. I hadn't even placed my order yet and he must have waited 10 minutes to see me leave in a sideways fashion (had to make it worth his while).

Have to say all my experiences have been positive, even the law don't seem to bother me, have got away with some stupid stuff in the Sup. Sups are still very rare over here.

The young Chinese guy I wrote about at 5pm arrived at 6pm and introduced himself, and spent a while going over the car asking things like "aint you gonna fit nitrous?"! not bad for a 12 yr old, Wanted to know where the turbo's were under the bonnet!.

Taking the Supra out, even into the drive is a social occasion now lol. Have to say that I really am enjoying the car now I have the tyre noise where I want it and Hi-Fi- sounding excellent. Mates GT2 and 360 Modena are next for the "up the road" challenge. :-) They can spend a while enjoying the the lovely view of my cars arse lmao!

although can be annoying when blokes shout 'that 17yr old got a supra' :swear:

PMSL...thats the cooliest thing ya can do in a Supra...but means ya can't have a drink and I normally have to be pretty well slaughtered before I wheel out my old knackered chat up lines he he!

But yeah I guess the car has done the chatting up for me...I just stay Mr Silent, Mr Sophisticated and let my body do the talking he he!

I have got to say, the supra attracts so much attention. My parents love it when I go up North to see them as it makes their neighbours jealous when the beasts on the driveway.

Damn.. my mum thinks mine is 'excessive' ...my bro just begs me to let him borrow it - maybe I would if I could fit one of those data loggers to the OBD port! :eyebrows:

The biggest thing that suprised me was people getting out the way on the motorway, I imagine it looks pretty intimidating from infront. You also get other cars "hanging around" on the motorway to see/hear you. Can be annoying if they spend too much time right on your blind spot, grrr!

Someone at work asked me, what kind of car is that? I said its a Supra. They didnt know what that was but just said it looked like a beast of a car! :D
