Gazboy
Besides Hamiltons's is mostly down to money eh? Well if you hold down three jobs to pay for a hobby I'm sure it will create a bit of money.
Shadow Beast
I've already splashed out on special celebration for cyclist, Victoria Pendleton. She is one good looking lady!

imi
Chris Hoy Who? Cycling....what a boring sport. Seriously, that was Hamilton's to win, not quite sure why people are so jealous of the money and recognition he is getting. not as if he hasn't earned every penny and every bit of it. edit: upon viewing victoria's pics, I now believe cycling is no longer boring , certainly not when she is riding one
stevie_b
Both Lewis and the cyclists are deserved winners in their fields, but for sheer achievement, I do kind of value the achievement of the cyclists more. Lewis is a brilliant frontman for what must be an extremely talented Team McLaren (designers, mechanics, aerodynamics bods, drivers, etc). For the cyclists, the individuals are pretty much the team. The hold the ability to excel or to fail almost exclusively in their own hands.
RiceRocket
IMO Usain Bolt is the overall (globally) top achiever this year although he looks a prat with his head stroking/bow+arrow mime stuff.

Graham Obree excepted as he built his in his kitchen from a washing machine, cycling or equestrianism is hardly the sport of a peasent.

E.g. the swimmers wear specially-channelled swimsuits to create vortices in the water that are supposed to reduce drag a little bit.

AndrewOW
She is one good looking lady! Absolutely fantastic legs, then nothing! Truely 'fit' girls do seem to lose most of their femininity while at the top of their game IMO. Once she retires and gets them out in Nuts magazine, she'll look great! Alex
I think the right man one. LH said as much in an Olympic year, the athletes who've been working for that one moment for 4 years should get the praise.
