Its good to aspire for things in life. At 15, in a way, its good that you have a gallic wish to own the quintessential 90's supercar in 5years time. I applaud that but always be realistic.

The supra is a beast of a rear wheel drive car. Sure, as you pootle about town you cant nearly notice. Bah you say, and off you go, flooring it till the situation changes so fast, you just cant react in time and well, you pretty much guess where im going with this cant you? And then comes the looming bills etc... NO doubt you can do almost 70 percent of maintenence work on your own...2J's are idiot proof engines and are cheaper to maintain than say the Rb26 or a 6G72TT. Its just not the car to start off with.

Just to share, i went from a humble turboed GSR Mirage Asti (180bhp) to an Integra-R (200bhp) Nissan S15 Silvia (modded to 350bhp) and now this. Get a feel of driving a performance rear wheeler first. And the nissan 200sx is a good place to start.

If you're thinking of the MR2...hehe, well thats another story alltogether. Cheers and goodluck.

I agree. My first RWD car bit me in the ass one day when i was angry at myself for taking a wrong turn and during a u turn i span it and overcorrected into a curb. luckily i only had to pay for a new tyre. But i could have easily written off my car if it was a wall or a barrior. I also almost hit 2 kids on the footpath. seriously shook me up.

Oh i also call bullshit on the 1.4k quote you have got. insurance on my stock NA was that much and i was 23.

what?!

I was looking at your for sale ad, over 400bhp with no dyno print out (Thor's is famous for over reading by a fair bit if it has been on theirs). The list of mods in your for sale ad does not support 400+ bhp. Also your car with the mods mentioned is maybe just below 5 seconds with good traction to 60, certainly no where near the claimed 4. ;)

what?!

I suspect JM thinks it's a little ambitious plugging your car to a child. On the other hand thieves may have broken in to his house and have gagged him- as his icon clearly shows. Good luck with the sale btw :)

If you don't hear from JM in next 24hours- phone the police.

EDIT: I'm not even close...and call off the hounds.

Yeah that too, however it is just the ambitous claims in the for sale ad that was all. However Adam may have just copied and pasted the ad from the original FS ad where he bought it or he was told the car was that quick and powerful.

Note to self: try not to meddle in other people's posts :)

Although I doubt I'll learn.

I hear what ur saying but ive had supras for the past 7 years, two of them being over 440bhp dyno'd, ok they had water injection systems, FMIC,850CC injectors etc..but ive raced the one ive got at the moment and compared to the previous ones its not far off and its times at santa pod and shakespeare were quicker than my previous ones. so to say its over 400bhp isnt unreasonable, how far over 400 i dont know but my neighbours GTR is 427bhp tested, and on the quarter and an outright drag race over a mile i beat him.

850CC injectors? Standard turbo's? What were you using to control fueling?

f-con pro ecu, but ive gone back to stock ecu and whats on the spec in my ad, i agree with THOR being abitious with theyre estimates! but what ever its pushing it isnt/wasnt far off my previous ones. either way i dont wana turn this into an arguement...if u read my ad it states thor estimated that...i didnt quote...all i know is its damn quick and from what i can tell isnt far off 400bhp either side.
