gordy07
Ouch! I know how you feel mate i was doing decking lights at a house last summer and i had a rip in the knee of my trousers. The house had flowers in the garden everywhere(and wasps)so i tucked my socks into my combats chav style so they wouldnt go up my leg and one of the wee fockers went in the hole in the knee and fecking stung me 3 times before i managed to splat it. It was funny in a way as i removed my trousers on the customers decking to get rid of the wasp and inspect the stings!!!

sdavies
Wasps are one of lifes wonderful creations that I wouldn't mind seeing on the endangered list! Hateful creatures! They don't adhere to the "Don't move and I won't sting you" rule, apparently they didn't sign that particular insect human peace treaty in Geneva back in the day! I watched not so long ago in amazement as a wasp landed on my window sill and proceeded to sting seven shades of shiva out of it! Left a blob of venom on the sill - window sill must have moved? Pain of being stung varies between individuals, but damn - it hurts like hell! At the age of 11 I was stung by a wasp between 11-13 times on the back (hard to tell with clustered stings)! One wasp - 11-13 times... (it flew up my T-Shirt). I now have a mildly irrational fear of the lil buggers! Note: More people die each year from the effects of insect venom such as wasp/hornet than from spider or snake bites! A bee stings you once, and only if in dire fear of its life as once it has stung you, it is game over and it dies! Wasp? Somebody gave it a stiletto and a free pass to stab as many people as it wants! So much hate for wasps - think I will try and coax the Daily Mail into a wasp hate campaign... shouldn't take much! Guest CoolsBlue
Same family as wasps ;)QUOTE] dosent matter, their sting is so much worse, it leaves a black inflated spot on you skin, wasps are nothing compared to that, trust me, been stung by both... Axle
Try coating the bite in honey - Natures Antiseptic. Manuka Honey (active 20+) is excellent and is the only antiseptic which wont damage skin tissue.

juanchan
:rlol: come back when youve been stung by one, seriously its way worse than any lil wasp you get here in the uk... Really? Aside from the Japanese 'giant hornet of doom' thing I've heard of (the one that decimates honey bee hives in mere hours), the european wasp is one of the most aggresive insects I've heard of, let alone met. The few 'minor' wasp stings (tell that to someone entering anaphalactic shock after a sting....) I've had in this country are enough to make me be more than wary of their prescence in my vicinity!
