They still give out free carrier bags at our Asda, but they ask you if you want some rather than just having them there to take. I understand that all supermarkets will have to charge for carrier bags from next year or something like that. Some government green initiative. I sometimes say 'Tesco's', which isn't too bad really IMO, but how come it's acceptable to say 'Sainsbury's' though? Our Tesco's stopped giving out free carrier bags 2 weeks ago, they give you club card points if you take your own bags with you. They now only sell the 'bags for life' bags.
