Whitesupraboy2
Personally I think thats the wrong example to set. He will be a burdon on tax payers money (in USA) and should of servered around a yr .3 yrs is the max penalty and he is blatently being used to make a point after the recent people only getting 14 days, 80 days etc... Its not like he is a major threat, he didnt pay some taxs...make him pay them and punish him a little not throw the book. Although stars who earn millions not paying taxs always makes me think what are you doing?!?
AndrewOW
Personally I think its a little harsh, but with all his money, I'm sure he can get a reduced sentence on appeal.
spidermonkey
i guess we'll have to wait a bit for the next 'Blade' film then
Thorin
He's not going to serve 3 years though is he... he's also going to be appealing I believe. Phe didnt pay some taxs... He didn't pay several million dollars in taxes, and also threatened government employees if they tried to come after him for them. He deserves to have been made an example of. I'm sure he'll end up paying it all back plus a fine as well.

Havard
A comfy cushion may be required!! I am amazed that he threatened tax workers, who does he think he is?........no wonder Tommy Lee Jones is always after him... H.

AndrewOW
I wonder if he'll get cryogenically frozen for this crime, like he did in Demolition Man. I bet he will definitely be a bit miffed once he's been defrosted!
keancy
Don't get it sometime. Someone can run over a kid and get that kind of a sentance and others get locked up for owing Taxes. Doesn't make sense to me.

AND he'd refused to submit any tax returns for the last ten years as he insists that the US govt is collecting taxes illegally. Sounds a bit of a nut IMO. Doesn't make sense to me. You don't want to be p!ssing off the Inland Revenue, as they will throw a very heavy book at you. Its all wrong though IMO. Havard
BBC website says 3 years and around £5million......who is right lol I thought he'd offered 5 million instantly to get him out of the sh!t. The news at lunch said that the IRS have no real way of knowing the full amount as they do not know how much he has made from films! H.
Pig
BBC will be right. Us brits are never wrong. I believe 3 years to be excessive. However if those threats are serious then he deserves the whole 3 years. Im sure he will be out in a year anyway.

ivan
I'd be more inclined to believe the Aussie press. At least they weren't gagged and were allowed to say which Royal was involved in another recent headline.
Charlotte
The press gets gagged over here for anything Royal family related, and sometimes government things. There was a story about Tony Blair's son a few years ago which never got told because of certain protections he had then. But anyway, Snipes is clearly in the wrong here. Unfortunately he got made an example of but not paying taxes for 10 years is ridiculous, especially as he earns so god damn much, or did then. And I'm sure threats don't help his case. Capital Punishment should have been handed out for Hard Luck alone Then there is The Marksmen and 7 Seconds both of which are equally as pants.
