Charlotte
Lets just give the guy a break, eh? Bit of a pointless thread but he's only expressing an opinion about a recommended site, it might not be great but he's French so maybe cut him some slack in that respect? Seriously though, would you pay the membership to stay here after that? Doubtful.
RedM
Well, I suppose common courtesy comes into it. I could have posted on several threads where you have discussed your preference in music and said I thought it was pretentious crap but didn't as it was just my opinion and didn't add anything. I guess some people just like to be argumentative or confrontational eh? Common courtesy then. Everyone has an opinion. Everyone has their own tastes. It seems to have become a crime on here of late to say anything negative about another members views/opinions. A shame really but let's all remember our manners when the next No1BoyRacer signs up and gets, not just abused for his car, but abused as a person. Maybe that's just different. As for posting (or not) that you think the music I like pretentious crap. It wouldn't have bothered me. I'd explain why I like it whilst understanding that people have their own opinions and, so what, if we don't agree. How boring would it be if we all agreed? I love music with a passion. It really means more to me than cars, films, books whatever. Yeah, I can be heavy-handed when I get a chance to highlight some bands but it's only becuase I really believe in what they are doing and I'd love it if someone got turned onto something oustide of the mainstream. I'm aware too that people love mainstream pop stuff and they like to speard their love it but it's so easy to spread news of the already popular and acceptable. It's really difficult and demands a lot of the person investigating to turn people onto the obscure. However, as GAZ6002 puts it so eloquently it was a not very well introduced link that led to a site with a small range of music of similar styles. That's why I disagreed. Shame it got lost in the race to score 'nice' points or to have a little dig (I do spot them and do keep track. You know who you are.) Anyhoo.... moving on..... Suprash
So you felt the need to post a blunt "I disagree"? Couldn't you have just ignored the thread? My mum always said if you havent got anything good to say then you shouldnt bother...... I do believe this forum would go a lot further without the constant picking on people, it must seem very repeatative for non posters that read the forum. But I also agree with Gaz in that the OP could have posted a little bit more on why he felt his link was better then others, I mean he went to the trouble of posting about it but not really saying much about it, my mum used to also say if you're going to do something, its worth doing properly..... And one last point, all this IMHO is crop, everything/every post we type on here is always IMHO, its not like you have someone else posting on your behalf is it, so its always gonne be your opinion, so I think IMHO should be an infractional crime...... Seriously though guys, we need to be more loving to each other, maybe rub each other now and then, a little lick here and there, maybe even a friendly tickle, but we need to try and cut down on this constant picking at people..........but on the flip side people do deserve it "sometimes", people that mount BOV and FMIC on the outside of their cars deserve everything they get IMHO
