Whitesupraboy2 Posted January 2, 2005 Share Posted January 2, 2005 Ok well ive tried to reply to a Post and cant i have now worked out that i cant coz it got to be my membership expired, that fine ill pay my tenner. this has what has annoyed me!! 1. No warning via PM... Only warning was in a thread by mawby which i read and checked whether i had been disabled....i had not so carried on as usual. 2. I come to this forum and hit 'New posts' instantly i dont look for the members area so i have no way of knowing, just thought threads little thin on ground sometimes. the 2 PC's i ever use for this automatically log on so one button click and i get the new threads 3. The only way i have worked this out is by trying to reply and trying to post in Driving chronicles, no email or PM saying your membership has expired 4. Perhaps telling the user their membership is bout to expire they have 5 days to pay before they lose members privilages. (i dont see gyms going, right your membership expired your out....coz they warn there users first. Same with any other company/ Club) 5. I noticed a couple have membership expired under their name.......why not me to tell me that i need to pay??!?!? 6. How long have i been banned from members only, for all i know it could be from a day after Mawby posted that thread. 7. When you've reinstated me after ive paid...will all the members threads ive missed appear or will i have to manually look through?!? I can understand it from someone who maybe joined hasnt posted for months doesnt go to meets, something like that or hasnt used board much. But i use it everyday almost,go to meets, post crap some common sense or perhaps a friendly PM saying we have noticed you havent paid, do it here etc.... and finally after reading 50's thread on paying, how do you pay via paypal now! Little pissed off here guys, i know you had a lot to do, but when you post a thread saying check that everything is ok, you do and then it changes is not very good IMO. Abrupt not the problem....not tellin me is the problem, i have had no way of knowing at all until i came to post a thread in area i cant! thats my main point ive been using this like usual, but ive missed loads and normally good stuff from members area. Less ebrupt.....simple they send a PM & email saying your membership is bout to expire. Can i suggest mods perhaps PM everybody who hasnt re subscribed but uses regularly. Im just bit annoyed no one actually told me to be honest! u dont expect things to just cancel, yeh my membership long expired so i should of paid before, so that fair in some respects but then i expect to only be renewed to Oct 2005, but a note saying you got 5 days to pay or something like that would of just been nice, bit of common courtesy. HTH Im good thanks Pete, apart from my MAF sensor playing up, got a price of UK MAF from Toyota and that was £450 So could imagine the UK MAF being a bit more expensive then the J-SPEC, but its still pricey, so am trying to osrt something else out, so if anyone knows of a 98> J-Spec being broken, cant see it, but........ Look at it this way- your membership expired in October so you've had 2 months to pay up. The forum automatically does stuff like this now so if your membership expires it just does. I agree it would be nice if it sent an email out, and hopefully we can look into it for next time but unfortuantely we were out of time. As Mawby said in another thread, it needed setting up manually during the upgrade before the automatic part took over so it needed to be done while Mawby was still off work. In theory we could have gone through and emailed each of the overdue, what- 200+ members that were overdue (some since last May!) Unfortunately with the way the forum works it would have been a nightmare to try and keep track of all of it manually, so it was set up so that you could still post in the main areas (officially if expired you wouldn't be able to post at all) to soften the blow somewhat, please bear that in mind. The reason it doesn't say under your name is because you have a custom caption and that will over-ride it. Ash- Pete is right, you didn't put your name down for a calendar. I thought I sent you a pm a long time ago though asking if you wanted one seeing as you were keen on it but I can't be sure. Anyway, if I have 1 spare it's yours. And the reason you can't reply in some areas is because your membership ran out last May... Tim- I will look into this mate, not sure whats happened I thought I'd done yours.
