  1. no fraid not - i'm not too up on how to adjust suspensions properly but Toyota said they need 'tuner attention'. So I called Chris W who said that they need replacing or refurbing. It's apparently not a ride height issue but a fundamental flaw in TEIN shocks. Chris recommended Bilsteins or something else (can't remember). I have dampened the ride by turning the gold screws on the top of the suspension points but the big thudding noise is cos the suspension is bottoming out. found a TEIN dealer in Wolverhampton who will take a look tho...

    Wheel Clamp

chaps, I have 18" volks and need a decent wheel clamp that'll keep the pikes off my ride - trouble is i cant find one big enough! help ta, D
  3. good idea - any idea how much this sort of thing costs? according to Chris W - he doesnt rate TEINs very highly.
  4. Guys, My TEINS are playing up on the rear - so i was thinking about buying some bilsteins for the back - is it possible to mix the suspension in this way without any problems? Thanks, D
  5. Bentley... what Bentley? you sell car?
  6. i sort of agree with that. there's not reading an advert, and then there is a massive void between that and misrepresenting the good/service on auction. his auction states he is selling a car - he then, within the advert, makes a throw away comment about bidding for a phone number. it aint right and the number of people caught out is testament to this.
  7. omg i didnt even see that 'auction for phone number' - that's just ridiculous!
  8. not in my supra! i hear about and feel it if i run over a worm! would be nice if he can sort it.
  9. cant believe this guy. it's a binding contract if it completes but he'll withdraw the item before the time expires if he aint got enough to win the auction. essentially he intends to bid with your money and if he doesnt win after pocketing some himself, he'll refund the full amount. cheap ' nasty!
  10. thanks man! er whose Chris W by the way?
  11. Hello all, Anyone know of any tuners that could work on suspension setups in the Birmingham area? I need my Teins looking at but Toyota said they cant do it and I should find a specialist garage. Thanks, D
  12. thanks v much! my dad could prolly sort the wiring but im completely useless with this stuff - think you need an 'electrical mind' i reckon. the SVA company in Southampton wired a caravan fog and cut/glued it on near my number plate - wanna get rid of it!
  13. sorry to be slow, but isn't it best to have the fog in one of the brake lights or no? is that what the diagrams on here are for and can someone let me know what bits i need to buy from Maplin? Thanks!!!
  14. dont you have to stick a new batt on charge over night before its ready to roll...
  15. surprised to see this one back up i'm certain it's fixed cos i poured over the docs - but lemme check, my file is back in Birmingham (I'm in London at the mo) but I can confirm on the w/e. VVti is 98 onwards (although think some came in very late 97).
  16. k o - i'll find a cheap garage - toyota asked 260 all in but i also heard it can be done for 120 from another member here...so that doesn't sound bad at all. my dad's a8 cost 800!
  17. hi. i see there has been a string about cams etc but for a stimpleton like me, can anyone advise whether you can change a cambelt yourself? if so any steps and what tools you need would be peachy! btw anyone know where to go for 'cheap' bridgestones? ta, D
  18. yup me neither - but you can usually send your car detail to the seller of wheels and they can advise...
  19. wish i knew! seems like when i go over a bump there is little movement in the springs and so the assembly just bangs against the car/another part of the suspension. they said i needed to get it to a tuner who could adjust the settings to encourage more movement in the springs...
  20. ah well there it is...i connected mine so they turn on when the ignition turns. good idea with fuse pulling!
  21. yup i bought a new batt too - a massive one but when you connect electrodes from a meter, the actual drain is high. Unfortunately I can't give numbers cos a) i cant remember b) my dad knows about this sort of stuff!
  22. thanks - certainly pays to shop around!
