ok i did some digging today and everyone the world and his mate agreed changing the shells is a no go not unless i want to sell the car and con someone as it just wont last, i cant be assed with engine swap affair so it looks like its going into a well establshed and long known engine shop to get the bottom end fixed be it a regrind or a new crank, i have actually negotiated a fair price for the work and just need to get a few more things checked out and then it looks like its going in, the guy knows his soops and has worked on em since they where built, hes also going to do valve stem oil seals while hes got it and check all the shimms on the cams, in fact it will get a major overhaul all warrantied etc too, then it may be ok till i blow summet else up lol,
cheers for the help guys but it looks like this will be my choice as its far to good to sit on the path and im asured the engine should be ok for another 100k
