  3. aha the problem is resolved during the removal of the engine etc the suspention and wheels etc where moved after a bit of cleaning and an air line the sensor is a ok , cheers guys , it was odd that the abs on the front was screwing the tc up to the rears but alls well and running like a new 1, had the garage said they took the motor out from the bottom i would have told them to look at the sensor first, but they did figure it out themselves, baring in mind this place only does engine rebuilds etc they dont often see problems like that as most engines are out when they rebuild them.

  6. ok guys here we go , ok got the car back today all rebuilt and running like a gooden, but i have a new problem? ok when i slow to almost a stop the abs kicks in it only does it at about 5 mph, after this has happened when i try to pull off the trc light comes on and puts it into slow mode for a second or 2 , its not intermittant it does it every time, abs works fine at speed, if i turn the trc off the abs will still cut in at 5 mph or the second just before you want to really stop the guy who removed and rebuilt the engine is taking a peep tomorow but im just asking here incase there is an easy fix for him that he may not know of, is there something he may have changed after removing and refitting the motor ?
  7. well im supposed to be getting back today all done and rebuilt, new big ends ,new conrod,valvestem oilseals,rebuilt and reshimmed head and new rings. in fact a full rebuild bar a rebore which i didnt need, and any luck running like a sewing machine,if it aint someone wont et paid lol

  12. no i just changed the oil what i also said was i used 15/50 and it may have not helped the already partially blocked filter the car had done 111k. the guy doing it has been, and all he does is engine rebuilds since 1980, i havent got the con rod or crank pics yet as i wont be going back there till tuesday as thats when all the bits arrive, the shite on the filter wasnt all metal some of it looked like sand or grit and for want of a better explanation carbon even. the 10 soops statement probably means hes done a few not 10 and he may well be refering to the early fellas too and he did say before he stripped it he was looking for something blocked somewhere, he has now gone away for a break so until his return im only dealing with 1 of his engineers, the bores are also perfect and not in need of rebore although i am having new rings fitted as im going thus far with the rebuild and there was no sign of any other blockage or crap around the engine
  13. yes it was there but for about 2 seconds on start up it wasnt defenate to me but obviously cw was right, yes the sump is twat to get off thats why i didnt just do the shells as when it went again it would mean all the assing about and spending good money after bad, i did have a golf many years ago that had a blocked pickup but was easy to drop the sump to see and clean it, but after what happened to mine i think taking a peep could save £1000s i know lol
  14. no it was the cause the guy doing it has done at least 10 soops all went the same way thats why i took it to him, the problem appears to be i have full service history and the guy told me the oil was changed all the time but was it? this was the first oil change i done on it, although cw did say he thought it had the start of something on start up about 800 miles ago, the damage to look at is minimal and no signs of missing swarf just the 1 conrod and 1 shell spun, i will post pics up of the crank etc next time i go up there probably after tuesday , the oil light was normal no indication of any probs, the only thing i can think off as it had high miles i was advised to use 15/50 oil maybe it was too thick to clear the blocked gorse?? where as 10/40 may have been ok ?

  16. the car has full service history and the oil has been changed regulaly all i did was drop the oil refill it with 15/50 and a new filter and 100 miles later the noise started and i was doing most of that around town, it was exactly the same tune thats posted on the clip on the other thread at the moment, i dont think flushing an engine is a good idea anyway unless you take the sump off to clean all that crap out on the pic, oh well im getting a full rebuild,rings and all and yes that filter is the start of the oil pick up in the sump
  17. well its the big ends as thought i also need a new crank as a grind wont work as the proper shells do not go up to the size i need, i need a new conrod as the shell spun , as for the cause by changing the oil i have washed all kinds of crap down to the sump and blocked the oil pickup filter, so ive told the guy to replace the rings ,valve stem oil seals as well as the rest, on a +note they found an earth off the ecu and a sticker on saying this has been chipped and remapped etc , i now know why the button to up the bhp didnt work but he thinks its been disconected due to it having the cats on the cats have now gone see pic below for the cause of this evil crime and now im getting a rebuilt motor
  18. droped mine off this morning to be rebuilt and it sounds the same exactly and mines big ends, i tried to record mine but the wanky phone recorder was poo

  20. yep thats the same as mine matey and its going in tomorow for a rebuild and hopefully a crank grind and not a new crank, mine only does it on tickover at the mo though but its the same noise
