  1. Keep an eye out for the proper thread walkerstrider; I'll explain everything in there. Still early stages of planning at the mo.
  2. Ok, this is sounding viable. I'll get a proper thread up ASAP!
  3. Hi guys, Happy to get involved with organisation on this. Sorry I've not been around for a while, but it took a long time to get over the trauma of what happened to my chair. Is everyone who said they're happy to help still up for it? Adi.
  4. Right, Malcolms been in contact, and I'm up for getting the organisation on this sorted How up to date is this list please people?
  5. You did actually, and it was much appreciated I'm keen on the generator idea... I dont think Branners would take much persuasion on it either!
  6. I'd love for the club to get involved in the events. Historically we've struggled to get any interest, but I'm happy to poll on it again! A deputy is a great idea
  7. So whilst it's fresh in everyones minds, I'd like to gather everyone's ideas about what we could have done better at JAE this year. Branners has committed we can do the same next year, which means much better planning and notice will be possible. I'm comfortable I know what I'm doing with the pre-event planning, but it would personally have been nice to have had a bit more time to walk around the show, keep a better eye on my chair, and also make sure that everyone was fed properly (for example that the vegetarians are fed at the same time as everyone else is). I'm also keen that Karen isn't stuck with washing up duty every time! Some people mentioned a few great ideas, as follows: - a cooking timetable and rota (ie members volunteer for bbq duty friday lunch time, or saturday late night) - scrambled eggs for breakfast - cereal for breakfast - an additional fire pit for the big circle - name tags So... any more? PS. Please try and keep it serious in this thread please... I'll prune out anything silly as I'll be using this as a point of reference for next year.
  8. Great buy with the twins. I still think the stroker will be the biggest mistake you'll ever make, but if anyone can make it work, Lee can!
  9. Explain when I see you. Follow signs for general camping when you arrive!
  10. Urgent!!! We're now in Suzuka not Okayama. I'll update the first post as soon as I'm able!

  14. I'd forgotten about that (you've no idea how annoying that was given my explicit instruction no one sit in it!) Think of the innocent chairs! But seriously; I/the club accept no responsibility for your inebriation. You paid for it yourselves
  15. Not a dig at you at all buddy; just something that needed to be said for the newbies
  16. I'm serious about my chair. Anyone found sitting in it will be refused entry next year (or proposed to). I'm making a list. It's like Santa's naughty list, but real. And now to the really serious bit. I know a lot of those who are going, however there are a few that I don't, so I can't guage well enough if this needs to be said, and it's better to be safe than sorry: Please Drink Responsibly! There is a decent food and drink budget this year. That means there will be a lot of alcohol flowing. The club contibution didn't cover the marquee, which means all the food and drink was paid for directly by you guys (ie if you get completely wasted, it's of your own doing!). I won't hesitate to suggest someone should slow down if I think it's necessary, or even switch them to water only for a few hours; a particular member passed out on Saturday night last year, and as amusing as the pictures are, he appeared to be in a very bad way. It's funny, but similar circumstances at festivals recently have ended quite tragically. Please be safe; I want you all to have a good time, but equally want everyone to get home safely on Sunday too! NB. This isn't intended to offend anyone, and I hope you all understand why it's been said
  17. Ps. Gary I promise that within an hour you'll feel like you're with family.
  18. I like the idea of a best chair competition. It means it's more likely mine will stay unmolested. Did you mean me with the text Jon? Not seen anything
  19. You know, I take back what I said. The wheels aren't half bad in daylight!
  20. Great, thanks. Wanna include a diesel donation too, or sort when I see you?
  21. Hi, Only a few days to go now, so there are a few things I need you all to do (as Facebook has proven, not everyone has read the FAQ thread!) 1. Read the FAQ Thread. Do everything that it says. It's absolutely essential that you do, or you may not come prepared (or worse still get your food and drink allocation). 2. PM me if your name is not Pam or Rhian and you are a vegetarian. If you don't do this, I won't cater for you in the shopping list and you'll be hungry. 3. PM me to confirm if you received your tickets if you haven't already contacted me. This is the last I will say about this, but loads haven't confirmed receipt. 4. Note that Thursday night is not a club funded drinking night. Technically Thursday is a set up night but it would be great to see lots of you there. Essentially, If you want to drink Thursday night, please bring your own. 5. Save my mobile number in your phone in case you get stuck: 07540 593917. 6. Do NOT, under any circumstances sit in my chair. You'll know it's my chair because it's the best chair. 7. Be really nice to my girlfriend when she arrives. I'll be running around after you lot and don't want her to feel neglected! Adi.
  22. PS. some of the tickets that were available sorted (the food and drink element). Dane... assuming you want one of the entry tickets for Jos, that means we've got 1 x entry ticket going... £35 if anyone wants it please PM me!
