  1. A good write-up! Donnie gets out to ask her if she is all right, and she whispers something to the effect of, "Every living creature on this planet dies alone," Actually I think she says "every living thing has one".... talking about the water-looking things coming out of people's chests. SPOILER BELOW!!!! I get the impression that the Tangent universe wasn't created to prove anything to Donnie, but was created via a rip in space and time. He was chosen by god and guided via Frank and those watery looking guiding things to bring it back into existence again before it collapsed and destroyed the universe, ie., The Tangent Universe -------------------- The Primary Universe is fraught with great peril. War, plague, famine and natural disaster are common. Death comes to us all. The Fourth Dimension of Time is a stable construct, though it is not impenetrable. Incidents when the fabric of the fourth dimension becomes corrupted are incredibly rare. If a Tangent Universe occurs, it will be highly unstable, sustaining itself for no longer than several weeks. Eventually it will collapse upon itself, forming a black hole within the Primary Universe capable of destroying all existence. So maybe the act of the engine falling onto Donnie from the "real" world into the tangent world seals the rip in space / time and saves everyone? My head hurts.
  2. I still think all the theories (even the one on the DVD) are exactly that. Why go to all the bother writing such a complicated plot just for everyone in the cinema to not understand it? I think it's one of those films that just leaves it to your own imagination That said, there's a deleted scene of a convo between Donnie and Frank that focuses heavily on the religous "holy intervention" thing...maybe the director originally planned the film to be fully explained by the end, but instead decided to just leave it to the viewer. Still a top, top film either way
  3. If you see the film again after reading that then it starts to make a wierd kind of sense
  4. If you watch the DVD there's an explanation of the plot in the extras, written in the book the old woman Roberta Sparrow!? wrote. To be honest I think it was written as an after thought because people needed some sort of explanation to what was going on. There's a web version of it here: THIS IS A SPOILER!!!! http://vecna.verge-rpg.com/darko/philosophy.html
  5. So basically, it's screwed, but it's not his fault. I like the leafleting idea, encouraging people to write to their MPs by the masses... between the people on this site and every other UK based car forum we must have the whole of the UK covered several times over! People simply aren't making enough noise over this, and when they do it's not co-ordinated or reported on. I'm sure that if every MP in the country received several thousand letters of complaint that the attention this receives would go up slightly......
  6. 1.6 Vauxhall Chavalier Can't open the bonnet, can't open the boot, the only contents are the literally hundreds of parking stickers collected in the doors
  7. to you! Lovely car, I absolutely love TVRs, they're cars built out of a passion for going fast, rather than worrying about simple things like safety
  8. WOOOOOHOOOO!!!! Got my insurance quote through today, basically it would determine if I could keep the supra, after I had two claims in the space of a year (1 breakin and one disputed claim on my 2nd car)..... It's only gone up by a little bit AND under modifications they've listed my nurspec R as a "modified exhaust/ manifold" Which hopefully means BPU here I come!!!!! Best news I've had in ages!
  9. Congrats Must be a great feeling!
  10. That's terrible to see.... I liked the look of that car Got to feel sorry for the owner. Some first class photography though!
  11. I like that phrase! Still, I think we've all been there, last time I took the dash apart the speedo didn't work, so I spent hours checking and cleaning every connector behind there............. then found out I'd just blown the fuse
  12. Have a look here mate http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=38459&highlight=witham
  13. There's some in my vGarage http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/vbgarage.php?do=view&id=2394
  14. I've personally hated the "city boy" boxters for a while now, just seems to be a generic status symbol choice for anyone with the money. Some models of the 911 are quite nice, but then again at least that's a car with some heritage I've only raced a Boxter once... came steaming up behind me so I hit the loud pedal..... the shock on his face was clearly visible as he got smaller and smaller in the mirror I'd only had the car a week and it had three fully grown adults in it. Typical German engineering... engineered to perfection but somehow they seem to have forgotten about the passion
  15. I was paying about £1500 (23, 5 years NCB) on an imported TT, but that's with Elephant Then came the two claims within a year so I'll have to see what happens when I come to renew By the way I wouldn't be too suprised if the club insurer (Sky) aren't the cheapest for you.... I don't think they're particularly good for young drivers, but at least when you call them they're polite helpful and very knowledgable with Supras So well worth a try. I know what you mean about the difference in prices, I was paying £1200 on a 2.0 Mondeo before I got the soop! May as well pay a bit more for something faster
  16. Having done the rear lights and front indicators on mine, I think facelift looks miles better Never actually seen a set of facelift headlights in the flesh, but the glass ones look very nice again, much better than the standard j-spec.
  17. I never park in disabled bays... if the car park's empty then there's plenty of spaces... if it's busy then A: I don't want to take up the space of someone who may be in a wheelchair and B: I don't want my car keyed or damaged because someone feels like taking revenge. Yes, some car parks do have far to many disabled / parent and child / etc etc etc spaces... but I'll still obey them. And isn't it nice to see a long deceased thread come back to life
  18. Yup, I used to use drink, drugs and tobacco.... now I use optimax
  19. I know what you mean mate... every time I see two supras together I just want them to start snogging.... Do I need therapy?
  20. I know exactly what you mean mate.. we went to Magaluf in October one year and it was superb... warm, chilled out, calm with a great and friendly nightlife.... went there in July the next year and it was utter rubbish... like you say, full of lager louts. I know that sounds strange coming from someone who loves to go out and get drunk, but there's a word of difference between proper clubbers and the scum that you get over there in the summer.
