  1. If you can't keep it in your pants - Keep it in the family.
  2. So I should ignore the plumes of blue smoke previously coming from my exhaust at startup? Right, second fill with BP ultimate last night. This morning I had the expected condensation for a cold morning, but absolutely no blue smoke at all and no nasty smell. This is not my imagination. The blue smoke had been getting consistently worse over the last few months and would happen at EVERY cold start after the car had been left for about 8 hours or so - now it's gone completely.
  3. 2nd fill up with ultimate will be tonight so I'll see how it behaves on start-up tomorrow morning.... if it's still as clean as it was today I'm seriously looking into what is causing this.
  4. Right, before I start off I want to say that I'm NOT trying to start another "which petrol is best" debate (don't know why, since the Auto vs Manual has made it's quarterly appearance, so we might as well get this one out of the way too before xmas lol). For the last 8 months or so I've filled up with nothing but Shell Optimax, stuck to it religiously. When I first bought the car there was no smoke on startup - nothing at all. Since then I've been getting a slight puff of blue smoke when starting up for the first time in the morning. Lately with the colder weather this has developed into a small cloud, which has got me considering replacing the stem seals. However two days ago I filled up with BP ultimate because I had no other choice. I've nearly used this tank up now, and I've just been out and started the car..... no smoke at all I'm going to stick with ultimate for a few more fill-ups to see if this was just a one off.... but worth finding out if anyone else has experienced this!
  5. It's a problem if you're "granny shifting and not double clutching like you should" I promise never to quote from that film again
  6. Nothing like an amicable break-up
  7. Without meaning to extend an already over-argued point, the reason I bought an auto was because I could accelerate and keep both hands on the wheel definately an advantage to the FWD generation like me!
  8. With 30k you could surely build a (Reliable-ish) 200mph supra!
  9. I think that if you're a very very very good driver (ie not me!) you'll be able to get the manual to 60 quicker than an auto.... but for most ordinary drivers the automatic's fool-proof gear changes will be more consistently quick
  10. How many Chelsea players / managers / owners are from England, let alone the South?
  11. I just find him completely embarassing, one of the guys at work didn't know he was white, when I told him he laughed for 5 minutes solid....... IMO Saturday nights on R1 should be more about dance music, rather than 2hours of R&B followed by 2 hours of dance (Judge Jules), then 2 hours of gunshot noises and people shouting "BIG!"
  12. 'F1' was on a company car Volvo often seen around Chelmsford, turns out it was the first number plate ever registered in Essex, and so belongs to the county council.... until they sold it. They could've at least put it on a decent performance car when they had it!
  13. I think you have to remove the active spoiler assembly and motors for most if not all FMICs, but you can remove the bottom bit (the actual spoiler), then bolt it back on permenantly in the down position. You'll need some sort of bracket to connect it back up though.
  14. If I had an Aston I'd walk over hot coals for that number plate!
  15. Nope I'm not BPU yet, been planning to do it for ages, but not until I've got the car riding like it should (12 years have been harsh on the bushes etc I think!). *touches wood* Clean license so far, god knows how though!
  16. To be honest there are so many good roads for spirited driving around here that in the dry the car gets to properly stretch it's legs every time I take it out So yup, I NEED more power
  17. The quality of the genuine Toyota ones is top notch, they're a mini-art piece And is it just me, or can you only see the orange indicator when looking at them directly front on? From the side they look clear all round
  18. OMFG that's terrible Makes me feel ill just reading that, can't imagine how you feel. For what it's worth, my condolances
  19. When you compare the clear lenses to the original "orange blobs" they do seem to be too large, but this is because they sit at the front of the bumper and are not recessed in it like the orange ones.... the clear lenses also fit flush all the way across the gap and not just in the corner of it. But as Nic says, the clear lenses have an additional bolt sticking out of the side of them, pointing inwards across the bumper. Definately a mod worth doing, IMO they look miles nicer I got mine from Nic during a group buy.
