  1. Howabout it Jody et Interpro ? Help solve a mystery here. This is the kind of things I'd like traders to do. Organise a test pref with a CW SMIC vrs a FMIC. Not a dyno test - as I don't think that's a worthly test. But say a heat soak test. Blat a BPU car up and down a motorway armed with a CW SMIC. Then do the same but with a BPU car armed with a FMIC. And measure Before & After heat soak. Both cars done on the same day, if possible same time & conditions (ie Boost) For sure "they're different cars." - and assumations will have to be made. But this is a simple test. One thing it will prove is which IC by the end of the runs is more heatsoaked.
  2. As you say nobody is infallable. People should bear that in mind. But - this would be any easy way to sift through the techie crap that washes through here.
  3. Ian C is the tech mod. He'll have a good idea who's who around here.
  4. Then just have a title that simply says "Technical". None of the people having this "title" will be rated. It'll simply serve as a guide for members: "It's worth asking .. xyz." It should be obvious to the member, that the advice received is simply an opinion and should only be regarded as that. Other clubs have a similar way of labling where the skills in the membership are.
  5. But only if your savvy enough to look for it AND understand it.
  6. Michael! You're back! Thought you were off sulking.
  7. Probably because the people with issues aren't aware that the people recommending said tuner - barely have any technical knowlegde at all other than 'it works'. So, consequently accept what they're [All people with issues] being told without questioning it. EG - He says it's good - recommendations etc .. So, it must be good.
  8. Good PR by other members - is why they kept going. Of course, when people are continually shouted down - when certain things are pointed out, the attitude becomes - "Oh sod it! What's the point ?" I remember it happening to me (although it wasn't a flaming) when I put something like paraphrasing : "Phoenix know how to do proper single installs."
  9. No mate. ToyotaTom & Matt Harwood were both shouted down - and nobody paid any attention. So, even if the thread was public now for all to see - it wouldn't have made any difference. The only purpose it would serve would be a "We told you so." & that doesn't help any of the members who have lost out here.
  10. Hmm ... I remember it. It was a thread started by Paul about AEM mapping at TF (I think) in the Miami GT area (ages ago). The story of ToyotaTom was then made public in that thread.
  11. Why won't we find the thread in question ? I certainly remember it.
  12. Ernie, surely you throughly inspected the car prior to handing over the cash. To say - "I'm happy with the car. Here's the £16k cash!" To now saying "I'm not happy!" To me - that just doesn't add up.
  13. Good choice. Best to give Mark a fair bit of notice though ... he's always busy and chokka with work.
  14. With a good reason. They were total shit. The membership is better off without them. No-one is stopping you taking your car to Greg. But the simple fact of the matter is - TF was not nor ever was worth trader sponsorship of this club. Very true!!
  15. Word around the campfire was that Slowdog did abit of work there AFTER his forum booting.
  16. What I find amusing is - Greg took a ganders at a members single turbo conversion by Phoenix and criticised it ... then turned round to another member who was having a single conversion done by TF (paraphrasing) "Huh! We'll show them how a proper single conversion should be done!" Turns out the member having the single conversion done had a BIG problems afterwards, more money had to be spent by the member and the car was trailed to Phoenix to fix. Which eventually it was. I remember the thread about this and I also remember the fanboi flag waving. Funny how, by some - it's still happening.
  17. Got a group buy rate on them down at poundstretchers/matalan maybe ? In all seriousness, methinks that the: Max GT Mkiv-store and now TurboFit problems highlight that members shouldn't accept a trader that comes along just based on afew words. Personally, I would do away with the members making the decisions of accepting/declining traderships and leave it up to the mods. For sure, members can submit feedback via a survey on they're experiences and the mods use that as guidance. 3 times now the members have voted in bad traders ... and 3 times members have been burned.
  18. Don't you remember the ToyotaTom thread with the piccies ? It was a walking stick bung then .. not a broom handle!
  19. Didn't Michel lane said that he does NA-T conversions for £4800 or something ... Anyway, if dooable - a TT transplant is your best bet. Providing you're not bothered about sellerability. It may effect future buyers with an NA shell with a 2JZ-GTE lump in it.
  20. If only I didn't have a mortgage! Pretty sure - that if you wait for long enough and put up with the tyre kickers .. you'll get what you're looking for.
  21. But what possible use is that ? It'll be pissing away £x or something to pay for someone to fit it - which he can't use. Bit like when Ash Willis was told that a SAFC-2 is a must for his VVTI on stock fueling. Or when someone was hailing those FSE things. Heavens! Look what happened to Lui's pistons for all the good those things are worth. Geneb - just eBay it mate. The cost of fitting it will probably be a tank of fuel.
  22. Fair doos bud. Just leave all the settings @ 0
  23. Little blue lights and bling then I think - you're wasting your money getting it fitted. You can't use it safely without a WB & AFR gauge (Which AFAIK - you don't have) and what's the point of trimming the fuel on a stock NA ? Adding fuel would be abit dumb.
  24. Why do you want an SAFC-2 for an NA ? Are you running mega rich or something ? Have you swapped out your 330's for 440's and need to trim your fueling back ? But to answer your question - Matt Harwood will help you out.
