  2. She is already blessed with a Tubi exhaust and filter. Decat/100 cell cat & Remap are on the cards for the summer
  3. Thanks Guys. Those were kinda my thoughts. Everything else out there just seemed like a sideways step. Sounds like a plan I'm not going the remap route until at least mid summer so if we can sort something before it should be a good run. Its just way I take pictures but yes, I was standing in a hole Insurance is £100 more than my Supra. It was all helped from owning a tuned Supra for 7 years without wrapping it round a tree. More than 25k If you were considering one and had a bit of a want list rather than a grey tip with "curried pig" interior, you would want to realistically look a spending 28/29K as a minimum. Took a GT3 out as they are similar money to the Turbos. I have no doubt, its a track weapon but missed the power that the Turbos give. A GT2 on the other hand is a little bit on the special side. Managed to go for a drive last night, in the dry for the first time and gave it a little run. I can safely say, its ****ing fast! I tried to liken it to a Supra, and up until a couple of days ago, I was still trying, but now I have got a little more used to it and can now drive it, its a totally different kettle of fish. I am REALLY looking forward to actually learning to drive it better. Its one of them that you have to drive properly to see what they really are capable of otherwise its just "****ing fast!". Ill get some better pics up over the next couple of weeks. PS - Sorta still miss the Supra, I think I always will, but I don't miss it as much as I thought I would.
  4. From my experience (ex Events guy) it was always best to just pick a date with a bit of notice. You will never get everyone to ever be able to make the same date. PS im down with the 5th. Just need someone to bang up a separate events thread for people to add a definite yay to.
  5. Post 48 has all the pictures I know we all like car details and pictures, so here goes. On Thursday I became the proud owner of a 996 Turbo. The last few weeks have been a nightmare and I have had many ups and downs on this adventure but would like to share my story with you guys. I have looked and tried many 996 Turbos over the last month since selling the supra. All of which were quite frankly dogs. I had a very strict list of wants which included, bassalt black colour, manual transmission, black interior and low mileage which limited my options massively. Initially, I thought they were a bit of a bargain for the money but with these cars, its far from it. I hoped I could pick one up for around 25K but after taking several for PPI's (pre purchase inspections) and doing god knows how many miles all over the country my hopes were dashed. I sunk a good £1000 and many days off work to find out that a sellers "mint" was very different from mine and specialist PPI inspector. Rocking up to buy one of these machines with a good look around could have cost me 10's of thousands and because of the various PPI's done I managed to dodge quite a few bullets. I resorted to even looking at tiptronic's (which were surprisingly rather good) but I knew full well that I would always have the "its not a manual" at the back of my head. I even went as far as looking at the grey and savannah interiors. I need a slap for even considering them! Tuesday evening I had a call from a fella in north Wales who returned a message I left many days ago. He had just got back in the country after being away for several weeks, and was calling everyone back that had left him a message. I knew I had to move quick to even stand a chance of getting to him before someone else did. Wednesday Morning the PPI was booked in with a localish specialist and 6am Thursday Morning I started the 550 mile round trip. In short, the car was mint. The seller had spent 13k in the last 18 months of ownership direct with Porsche. I couldn't believe that I had actually found a mint one and the guy was willing to sell it! When the specialist described the car and an "exceptional example of a 996 Turbo" a deal was done I paid a lot more than I initially set out to pay but to get the right car I never was going to ever find it. There is a lot more to these cars than most think, If you are considering one (I know a few have mentioned them here) do lots and lots of research and take it for a PPI! Today was the first chance I had to give her a quick wash a grab a quick snap on the ol iphone so apologies for the poor picture. Spec includes; 2003 Porsche 996 Turbo Bassalt black Full black leather interior with optional red stitching 50K miles Porsche Communication Module BOSE Sound system Aluminium pack Heated seats Plus a monumental amount of others which are standard on the Turbo Models. She has more buttons than the Supra which I didn't think was possible How does it drive? Its a racing car with everything draped in cow is the only way I can currently describe it. I have only done 300 miles in it (mostly in the dark and rain) so I cant drive it for sh*t Proper pictures when I find the time and daylight
  6. Your welcome guys. All PM's are been answered, sorry I have been away the last day or so but I have been super busy. Next lot will be posted out Monday.
  7. I'm pleased, not because I cant spell, but the fact your not coming
  8. Another vote for the Norton Dog, had one of my fist meets there
  9. The CX range are indeed a good budget PSU and it will *probably* be fine. £10/£15 more and you are in corsair TX range. The TX650 PSU is spot on. CX warranty - 2 years - TX warranty - 5 years
  10. Don't be too disappointed if you cant run most things on highest settings as you wont be able too. The 555M is quite a weak card but will still look far better than it will on an eggsbox/PS for example
  11. Whats wrong with a Barracuda? I missed the PSU - That will most likely fail.
  12. Whilst its a first gen i5 CPU and a failed graphics card (still good but was considered a fail with its price in mind), £200 is an absolute steel. New, a year and a half ago it would have cost £750+ pre built. Some system integrators still sell the old tech too so the tech isn't exacatly old toot. PS - look like GEIL RAM
  13. Top ones are a 997 GT option seat. Those are in leather. The ones you probably sat in (pictured in post #6) will be 997 "wrap around" seats, again, an optional extra. Ill see if I can get you a part number.....
  14. We had one there a few years back, I cant for life of me rember where It was but a nice location followed by a nice pub at the end of it.....
  15. Latest lot has been booked in for delivery. It should all be with you guys Monday before 4pm
  16. That was the fella! IIRC he was also called Lewis? Rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way to start......and finish.
  17. I think you have run out of things to do Ed and the modding bug is saying yes, yes, yes! I think you car looks absolutely superb as it is
