Ok, that's interesting. That's a pretty good picture, thanks Dude! I can only hope mine's not dissimilar when it's done. We'll see. What suspension have you got on there? Saw you in Redline this month btw.

Woo... somebody else up late/early! Umm, blue lights would be very nice - they look cool and clean, but they wouldn't fit so well with my green theme. Perhaps the green lights need rejuvinating with some newer brighter/greener ones though. Maybe emin could do that instead of blue for me. How much is a spesh LED conversion?

Can anyone post pics, cos I think (can't remember exactly cos the car's in the shop) that like Jake says, one knob light (oo-er) does illuminate and the other doesn't. I think the same as Jake's, my temperature knob doesn't light up.

Does anyone have the Bomex front spoiler and has a problem with it being too low? I'd be interested to know what suspension you guys have set up, cos mine's in the shop being done and I've got standard suspension on 17" wheels and it looks SO low I think I'll be right back at the body shop before I make it home. Obviously will post pics when I get it back, but it's still waiting to be sprayed. Anyone got photos/feedback on the Bomex front end? Cheers!!!

Any luck? Got any photos?

Does anyone know the size of the pipes on the various TT cars? I don't really understand what parts of the exhaust should be what size. I know 3" and 4" get bounded around. Are the sizes different for USA/UK/Jap cars when it comes to decat pipes and cat back exhausts? Thanks.

Thanks so much Nic, that'll be wonderful. I saw the thread recently on changing the boot rubbers. Some photos will be nice though, cos I still want to get the strut brace. Cheers,
-
In fact, what prompted me to look for one was the creaking I get from my rear suspension... which might not be the suspension at all. It could be the boot seals, which I hear is common. But if it fixes it, then that's just splendo!

That's cool, thanks. I saw quite a few on MVPmotorsports site, and thought the Cusco one looks good in CF, so it's nice to have someone with something to say about it. Thank you! (I'll probably get this one)

Can anyone recommend a strut brace for the rear of the car? Obviously the TRD front strut brace is great, but there's no rear one... and they seem hard to find full stop. Anyone got one and would recommend it? Where can I find them btw?

That's the configuration I just went for. I've got 3 of the 4 in so far - the one under the drivers seat is hard, because of the motor I'll take some pics of how it is so far... when I get hold of a camera. I bought Fusion interior neons... went for 8" ones, but I should've got the 15" ones. There's room for them, and I just strapped them all up with cable ties - less permanent and more convenient. Now about that 4th neon...
-
Cool.

btw, by means of a minor update; I wired in one of 4 front interior green neon tubes today. The wiring is there for the other 3 and I just need to put them in. Wish I'd gone for longer ones now More light required. The switch I've got is an ignited illuminated switch with a blue LED to indicate power. It's WAY bright - right in my face. Need to dull it down a bit with something over it. Like some of that Foliatec light lens blackening paint or something.
-
Yep. And Paul E - what's that you've got in your boot? A perspex window with some holes by the look of things... what's under it?
-
lmao! Are those neons or LEDs under millhouse's car? I guess I could just go and see...
-
BTW, with regard to wiring - it's easy really. I'm wiring in Fusion neons, which come each with a 1A fuse. I've run a +ve red from the battery through the bulkhead above the pedals and a -ve from anywhere (went for an existing ground connection under the bonnet through the same hole as the +ve). Take those into the car, get an in-line fuse holder and 4A or 5A fuse from Camberley Auto Factors or Halfrauds or wherever, wire that into the +ve and wire up your parallel circuit. I'm going for four 8" neon tubes in the front foot well. Figured it'd be best to go for light in front and behind your legs. And I prefer the glow of neon to LED. The Fusion neons come with self-tapping screws and adhesive backing. They won't be going anywhere.

Guys who've done interior lights - can we get some pics up? I'm doing mine this weekend (if I have time) so I'll post some pics if I can. Green lights - black car. With a red car - try yellow. I think they'd look hot. Up to you, but don't forget pics! And with a silver car, blue would look pretty hot. Keeps that ice cool theme going - I like it.

Which I still need to do.

Help! New battery... dead battery: new symptoms

eek! Where's the alternator? Thanks for the info, you could well be right! -
A few weeks ago I posted about my car and it's charge not holding. Now it's just as bad with the new battery. Here's the dillio: I got a new Bosch heavy duty battery. It was great until last week when I went to London. I came home last night, and the car was dead. Totally dead. No alarm, no central locking (obviously)... NO CLOCK! Totally had it. Jump started the car from my Dad's car. Got it going. Took my girlfriend home 10 mins down the motorway, then I turned the engine off (I like to live on the edge) Anyway, when I came out about 15 mins later to start it, it was fine. Like it was fully charged. When I got back home I put the battery on a trickle charge which turns off when it's done. At the time, it was measuring 12.25V but slowly dropping... 12.24... 12.23 while I was setting up the charger. I left it to charge, and it was ok this morning. The charger had turned off and it was reading 12.3V again. Today I took it to the place I got the battery. They tested it - with the engine off, the battery was reading 15V - TOO HIGH! With the engine running (idle) it was a stupid 17V. I'm gonna have another dead battery soon! WHAT'S GOING ON!? I think my alternator's a bit dicky, but I should probably be sure before I spend out on a new one. Any ideas?

Yeah, that'll do it. Change the default "Program Files" folder location. All programs will still need to install DLLs and registry settings to the C: of course. Most of them will probably use it for storing temporary files, but again this depends how you've set up your profile space - in XP this is all stored under Documents And Settings. But you can change that too I think.

It's all true, thanks for your input. So you would just get a big-ass 250GB SATA drive and partition a C: from it? Keep it tidy and defragged and well maintained and not bother with a separate C:? I guess I would save a lot of money that way, it's a good point. I also don't NEED a P4E chip, but I can't find a cheap P4 chip ~2GHz which is all I really need. Maybe I should look on eBay. I'm not arguing, but I've had Intel and AMD chips, and maybe it was the way I've had them set up, but as far as I can see, AMD and Intel are comparable for price and performance but Intels run cooler and with more stability. Everyone's had different experiences I guess, but I just wouldn't bother getting AMD again - I don't see there's any saving. I'm going to look at eBay...
