  1. Are you the guy with a Honda NSX, my friend also has one. In fact, I was driving my friends nsx a couple of months back going down the M606 and saw another one on the opposite side, must have been you. We'll have to meet up some time.

    Oil Filter

Chris, what intervals has this Supra been having it's oil changed at, that's amazing mileage, did he put all this mileage on himself ? Cheers mate.
  3. So how did you discover which VSV was causing the problem ?
  4. Spotted a very unusual colour supe this morning, looked like a flip type paint in gold but couldn't get close enough to see indetail due to the morning rush hour traffic. Looked fantastic among all the commuter boxes.
  5. Rash, I live off Sticker lane, near rthe Peugeot showroom, and U ?
  6. That is a good price, the mileage isn't neccessarily a problem assuming it's got history and invoices to back it up, which I suspect it won't have. Additionally, it's got non standard alloys which don't look they cost much which makes you wonder why the statndard ones werre replaced. I live in Bradford which is where this car is for sale so could possibly have a look at it which is the only way to know what it's like.
  7. What do these coolers cost from Mr T ?
  8. That's exactly what I was thinking, a decent suspension setup will transform the car as I'm sure you are already aware. Other than that, just get the paint sorted, assuming it needs it, most kits spoil the appearance of a Supra. However, TRD skirts and rear wing are relatively subtle and don't spoil the lines of the car. Good luck, have you really got 5k allocated to car mods or were you just getting bored when you posted this up ?
  9. Hi mate, can you post up some pics of the springs and poss a pic of your car with the old setup to get an idea of how low it was. I've currently got some KYB on their way to me and am planning to do the swap myself. How difficult was it to remove the fronts, do you need to undo many suspension bits to remove the shock and was it easy to remove the top mounts to remove the spring. Cheers mate.
  10. I'm just after some clarification regards my install, I have nearly installed my RLTC unit as supplied by Matt H ( Cheers Matt) . I've read on here that most people press the TRAC OFF button to disable the stock TRAC system everytime they start the car or pull the TRAC fuse but is this necessarry if the TRAC ecu has been unplugged in the passsenger footwell. Also, if the TRAC ecu is unplugged will this remove the stock speed limiter, which in my case is 155. Mine is a manual car by the way. Thanks in advance for your help.
  11. Damn, I wont be able to buy just a lid as mine is broken on the main box part. I guess I'll just have to use some ingenuity till a cheap airbox crops up on here!!
  12. That's amazing, mine also has a broken hinge, the left one I think.

    Wiring Loom

Don't know for sure but I think there will be some slight difference as the light arrangment is different between uk and j-spec.
  14. Well I've just downloaded them, I'm sure I'll be making a lot of use of them, Thanks mate.
  15. This is def possible, which is why I re-set mine every couple of months. The difference is very obvious, almost too obvious, but I'm usually so pleased with the improved response and the way the 2nd turno comes online that I don't worry about anything else.
  16. Hi Nic, it seems we were writing our replies at about the same time but you submmitted yours just ahead of me. At least we seem to be saying the same sort of thing.
  17. Re-setting the ecu gets rid of any error codes that may be stored, some of which may be old and no longer be a problem, this in turn makes it easier to diagnose new faults thet may be present as thses codes will re-appear in the ecu. Secondly, from personal experience, I have found that the car accelerates much more cleanly and harder. Not sure why, but I think it is something to do with the way the car adapts to your driving style and adjusts the fuel maps accordingly and resetting returns to the base map from which the car can re-adjust. This is why it is a good thing to do after mods such as de-catting etc. As far as I know there are no risks associated with re-setting the ecu but someone else may know otherwise. I assume you know how to do this by the way, pulling the EFI fuse for about 30 secs. Hope this was of help.

    Spoiler Removal

    It must be right then.

    Spoiler Removal

Not sure if my figures are accurate, but I'm sure I've read some official toyota blurb that said the stock rear spoiler provided 65 lb of downforce at 90MPH. You just need to look at how you drive and what effect, if any, the lack of spoiler would have on you.
  20. I've gone as fast as it is possible to go in a uk spec supra with the stock speed limiter on numerous occaisions. The indicated speed was considerably higher than 155 when I hit the limiter. It also accelerated to that speed very quickly, even when in 6th gear. Don't think I should say anymore in this section of the forum.
  21. I've always found that resetting the ecu (by pulling the efi fuse) usually causes the revs to go low, ie 700 rpm as if the engine is warm, even if it's cold. You could possibly try resetting it again by pulling the fuse for 30 secs. Hope you get it sorted.
  22. If you remove the headlight (10 mins) you will be able to see the bolts the secure the blobs much more easily.
  23. Every 6K is definitely overkill. BTW just couldn't resist to point this out, Dude, your statement sound seriously painful;
  24. I had exactly the same problem when I first bought my Supe, again, turned out to be an overtightened nipple !!! The caliper body had a crack and I had to buy a new uk spec caliper, £200 from Toyota Leeds.
