Even that isn't bad. Could still get the half price pads for 31 and be under 200 for the fronts sorted -

You sir are absolutely right. Just phoned to confirm. They sell the pads but not the discs. Is this the bitter taste you lot mentioned Haha. So where's the best place to get discs and pads then? -

What did you do to your supra today?

Fitted my LED headlights. They look bright but the proof will be after the night time testing this weekend -

Well I stand corrected. Normally they're quite successful threads, as I said, my one on the evo forum has over 4k replies. Too many garage queens on here I guess -

Hi everyone. I made a thread like this on my old evo forum and it went really well. Over 4000 replies last time I looked at it. Thought I'd try the same on here. Post up what you've done to your car recently. Somewhere to show off anything your proud of or happy with. I'll start Not today, but earlier in the week I resprayed my speedo surround and centre console. A bit hit and miss at first, but it's almost perfect now I've had a bit of practice. Looks far better than the weird greeny colour it was Also installed an AEM wideband in place of the clock. Just need to put my decat back on with the sensor boss welded on. She's slowly getting there need to ditch that horrible steering wheel and then it'll be quite a nice place to sit

for sale 9006 NightEye LED UK spec low beam bulbs
D1andonlyantman replied to D1andonlyantman's topic in Parts for Sale
I got them off eBay after a recommendation from a supra friend. Totally plug and play, straight swap for the oem bulb. Find me on Facebook if you want pics. My name is Anton macminn. Can't be arsed to upload to imgur and embed here -
Hi. I'm selling some low beam LED bulbs for uk spec headlights. I bought them for my J-spec but I need 9005s in both high and low, where the UK uses 9006s in the lows. The 9005s I've got in my low beams now are nice and bright, and because we've got projectors as standard, the light is focussed as it should be. LEDs had a bad name, but they've come a long way, and I'm happy with mine. Already got more 9005s on order for my highs. Cost me 19 quid, a tenner to any of you. Cheers

Hi all. Got my dash out to spray it so I'm going to wire my AEM wideband into the clock space at the same time. I guess I can get power from the stereo, but I was wondering on a good route to get the sensor wire from the decat into the car? Any advice appreciated

How does the sequential system work?
D1andonlyantman replied to D1andonlyantman's topic in Supra Chat
I'll be honest, the sound is a big selling point. It was way too quiet before. I drove past a mate a few nights ago and he said it sounded mental when I put my foot down. This car has everything to shout about! I'll have a read through the thread above when I get home from work. Cheers. Does anyone have an opinion on wiring open the T2 gas control valves? I'm thinking bypassing the vsv so the manifold pressure opens the valves is one thing, having it permanently open is going to share the exhaust gasses before T1 has even spooled which will only make everything laggier? -
How does the sequential system work?
D1andonlyantman replied to D1andonlyantman's topic in Supra Chat
It's not a huge gap, probably 4000-4500 is pretty dead. Then it comes back with the 2nd turbo. It also sounds 10x better, it was so quiet before, now it has the rumble a 3L should. And all in all it just feels more familiar to me. By 3k things are getting going, 4k it's coming strong, 5k you're really flying. We're not talking a 5k spool up lol. It's not perfect but for me I think it's a more enjoyable drive. I'm BPU too which will obviously help, and manual is better for it too apparently -
How does the sequential system work?
D1andonlyantman replied to D1andonlyantman's topic in Supra Chat
Top info there. Cheers. I've been looking at the TTC mod. I'm used to a single turbo, and am not really a fan of the way the 1st turbo starts to let off before the 2nd comes in. I know it's more laggy down low, but how often is that an issue really. Anyway, one of the methods ive seen says to just bypass a vsv so that the actuator has a direct feed to the manifold pressure and opens as the pressure builds, but another method says to wire open the EGCVs. My question is that wouldn't having the valves permanently open just make the lag even worse, and if you let the boost pressure open the valves as the pressure builds, turbo 1 would be running on its own for a bit longer, making the lag a little better? -
Hi everyone. Bought my supra a few months ago. So far so good. Still getting my head around the mechanical side of some bits, for example the sequential turbo system. Now I'm used to the classic manifold to turbo, then the gasses either go through the hotside turbine to make boost, or out of the wastegate, all controlled by the ebc. Job done. But on the supra the 1st turbo comes in, then the 2nd later on with the use of 2 actuators and what appear to be wastegates, although I'm told they're not as there is one main wastegate for the whole system? At a guess id say that at 4500 the valves open which allows boost pressure to go to the actuators which then somehow makes the 2nd turbo spool, but I've got no idea on the specifics tbh. Basically can anyone give me a brief overview on how it all works, because I like to understand all these things. Thanks

Ok mate, cheers for that

Hi everyone. I'm just wondering what my options are regarding headlight bulbs, HIDs, LEDs etc. I've got a j-spec 98' vvti and coming from a car with decent headlights, night driving is a little scary haha. It's never something ive needed to learn about before, so any advice or pointers would be much appreciated! Thanks

Airbag light with aftermarket wheel
D1andonlyantman replied to D1andonlyantman's topic in mkiv Technical
Ok mate. I think I'll try a 1 quid resistor first though. I'll be in touch if it doesn't work -
Hi everyone. Ive got an aftermarket steering wheel with no airbag which makes the light stay on. Ive read about jumping a couple of pins under the bonnet, but apparently that stops the passenger bag working too. To keep it all working I'm going to use a resistor so it thinks the bag is still there. I'm reading that 2ohms should do the trick? Will this 2.2ohm resistor across the plug sort it, or does anyone have a better way? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Airbag-SRS-resistor-warning-light-defeat-1-0-to-8-2-and-2R2-2R7-3R3-packs-of-5pc/111988645691?hash=item1a130b1f3b:m:mE-icP3PDO9fS8ejmpafQtg Cheers

Low idle after new clutch and some hoses rerouted
D1andonlyantman replied to D1andonlyantman's topic in mkiv Technical
Found a hose off that comes off the side of the throttle body and goes to the power steering pump. Seems fine now -
Hi everyone. I got a new clutch fitted a couple of weeks ago because the one on it was slipping (don't get me started). As it's a new supra to me (really, don't get me started) they gave it a good once over. Some turbo hoses were missing or weren't even connected, so they were sorted, and a few more in the bay were redirected (took the hose off my FPR that's to do with the steering going light at high speed, and attached it elsewhere). Nothing major though as far as I know. The cars driving fine but the idle has gone to crap. Sits at around 500 and always sounds like it's going to stall. It makes the car really shake as it bounces around the vibration sweet spot, and it sounds a bit like a tractor or something lol it was fine before the work, so could possibly be to do with the rerouted hoses (unlikely, the work was done by whifbitz who have seen there share of supras haha), or maybe a hose somewhere cracked or something when they were doing the clutch?? Whifbitz have said to go back, no complaints with them at all, but with work etc it would be sweet if I could fix it myself. I'm no stranger to boost leaks etc, just a bit of a stranger to supras, so any ideas would be very welcome. Vid of what's happening https://youtu.be/rr3RJRaQKfA Thanks

Not sure what people would consider good condition. No cracks or anything, just a few little chips and scratches near the gearstick. There was something stuck near the Speedo though, which has left some hardened sticky crap, so I'll have to look at getting that off. Not sure mine are any better than others out there tbh
-
Hi everyone. As the title says, I'm thinking of giving the centre console and Speedo surround a little freshen up with a fresh coat or paint, as I'll need to remove it all to stick an aux cable on my stereo anyway. has anyone done this, and what did you use? I don't want anything fancy, a nice black finish would be fine. Would black hammerite do the job well? Cheers
