Prop shaft question for ZF8 Conversion
Supraman1511 replied to Supraman1511's topic in mkiv Technical
Thanks I thought you could just switch the diff flange? So if I took the A01a diff flange "small" PCD and put it in the LS diff, then it would match the prop? Either way you've given me an option thanks if I can use the 3.2 gear ring with the A01a diff and NA Auto prop with the ZF8 coupler, then that's perfect -
Does anyone know if the front section of the NA Auto prop is the same as the TT Auto prop? The ZF8 kit is designed for the TT Auto prop which seems impossible to find (and I assume a big case diff) I am wondering if the only difference between the 2 auto props is the length (to reach the different diff case sizes) and the size of flange that connects to the donut? small flange on the NA small diff and big flange on the TT big diff So in theory the ZF8 coupler could also bolt straight on to the NA prop with small diff? Of course the 4.0xx diff ratio of the NA Auto would be terrible for the ZF8 BUT I have picked up a 2001 LS430 diff which is 3.2xx just like the 6spd, this is a small case diff with big flange SO... Can I switch the diff flange of the LS diff to use the small flange from my NA A01a diff and be good to go? (I'm also building a GE VVTi and boosting it to around 600bhp to go along with this)

Various parts : cam covers , steering wheel...
Supraman1511 replied to Dom's topic in Parts for Sale
On the cam covers, I see the metal fittings for the breather pipes have been removed. Are these usually removable or have they been chopped off? -
anyone got one? how much would they typically go for?

Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong section. I recently did the heater matrix swap and moved my map sensor to get access to the water pipes. I took a pic of where it was but it's not very clear on what the brackets should look like. Is it 3 brackets? I have the map sensor still on it's part of the bracket and the earth cable still attached to its own bracket, these slot together to line up the bolt hole. There's 2 bolt holes on the firewall so am I being thick or am I missing a third section of the bracket?

Sorry for following you the whole way but I'd much rather stare at the back of a Supra than any other car. I was in my Honda CRV as the camping gear and bikes wouldn't fit in the Supra I was going from Bamburgh back to Wakefield

Sorry to revive an old post but I'm based in Wakefield too and just got my Aerotop back on the road

I'll have the trial rear bumper please

I already bought Japan racing JR3 a while ago and quite happy with them, even if they are a bit heavy. The AME wheels are just taking up space in the garage -

Yeah they really weren't for me either. Maybe on a lexus or something German.. -
Very kind of you, thank you
-
@Annabella Excellent, what would you like for them?

Silly request I know but the car has been off the road for about 5 years and I have misplaced one of the rear pads. I have ksport front and rear kits arriving in approx 3 weeks and I just want to get the MOT done asap without paying ~£30 for a set of rear pads that will barely get any use
-
Yep they're ordered! Ksport / Apex customer service was great. A guy called Tom gave me the Front floating for the same price as the fixed (usually +£250) as they had them in stock. The rears are made to order but he's sending them via air freight (3-5 weeks) rather than shipped (16 weeks) for free (usually £169) I went for orange as the car is soon to be sprayed BMW M2 Competition Sunset Orange My wheel setup is 18" Japan Racing JR3 9.5J ET38 Front 10.5J ET15 Rear (flared arches) Cheers

Finally got a response, these versions have instructions on the page. The rear is slightly smaller than the front in width and depth so if anyone tested the front template on both front and back and it fits then the rear would surely fit too. TO03(F356mm).pdfTO02-R(R356mm).pdf
-
Thanks I'm also waiting on them from Ksport, I'll upload them if I get them first. Here's another upload of the 356mm Fronts they sent me yesterday, it's slightly different (less bold) TO03-8(F356).pdf
-
anyone have the 356mm template for the rear? I tried the front template and that fits both front and rear but I'd like to be 100%

Can confirm, I actually e-mailed VOSA a couple of years back due to my '93 Import GE failing on emissions. "Thank you for your email enquiry dated 11 July 2016, concerning the above. Section 7.3 of the inspection manual for private passenger and light commercial vehicles covers the emissions tests for petrol vehicles (you can view the full MOT inspection manual online at:- https://www.gov.uk/topic/mot/manuals For a vehicle first used in 1993, a CAT emissions test would only be done if there was an exact match for the vehicle in the emissions database. As your vehicle is an imported vehicle, there would not be an exact match and therefore the vehicle should have a non-CAT emissions test (ie CO HC As the vehicle does not need a CAT emissions test, the tester will not be checking for the presence of a CAT where fitted as standard. I hope this information has assisted you with your enquiry, but if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us again. Kind Regards"

Do these include the hard black plastic bits that run along the sides of the roof?

Interested in the rear lights if they're in good nick, mine have cracked a bit from heat stress (taking apart to insert LEDs)
