  1. We have someone designing our website as I type, how much would it cost for a forum to be set up by a company that does that sort of thing? Do i need to buy hardware and software or can I have this on someones webserver? Treat me like an amateur, I'm a comms engineer, I know nothing of web stuff.
  2. if i get the instructions correctly. i need a copy of windows 2000 or 2003 server and microsoft sql server?
  3. whats mysql? I'm a total IT wrongun!
  4. in all honesty you'd be better off just running the oven off the 45 amp breaker you suggested and the microwave off the kitchen ring main, a 45 amp double pole switch wont have a fuse in it and in order to run your microwave you'd need to run a radial off of the 6mm circuit into the back of either a switched spur or 13a outlet, in order to connect the microwave, which will need to be fused at 13amps. If you do run this radial off of the 45amp switch, either do it in 2x 2.5t&e or the 6mm.

    Creep

that film "saw" was quite good, if a bit stupid towards the end.
  6. Any one here can help me on how to build a forum, not a forum for cars like this, just a tech one. Anyone help? Is this really difficult?
  7. I don't want to pour cold water on this but are you aware that undertaking any electrical work in your home unless you are an NIC electrician is against the law? Also, does your oven have a plug top on it or just a connection on the back for an incoming cable (ie to go to a cooker panel)

    Job Hunting

You should try Manpower, they have a citrix system and their IT guys don't seem to have a sodding clue, I should know my missus works for them! Ask them for a job with a speculative letter telling them you know their citrix system goes down every day in the afternoon!
  10. That couldn't be answered as simply as that, what would you like to know, the system's reliability, functionality, cost effectiveness? Give me some details on your requirements and i'll give you my opinion (pm if you don't want to disclose anything) Overall though, Mitel are a good switch but they are not the best.
  11. that SP2 is a big pain in the arse, it caused me all sorts of problems. it could be that.
  12. start>control panel>add/remove programs remove sp2. run windows update after and install all the others but uncheck sp2
  13. That means its been driven "really carefully" and i suppose when you look at it the engine is hot, so you can't see the smokescreen emitted on cold startup a navy frigate would be proud of signalling the end of the turbo...
  14. Have you got that poxy SP2 on your machine?
  15. Thought you'd spot that first, I was looking at the state of his wiring!!
  16. try adaware software that can stop that. or better still zonealarm pro, the new version has spyware stoppers, zonealarm basic is free!
  17. The index or the IP office? Been on the training courses yet? theres hundreds of em!
  18. Hey Far, you can call me chris now, known ya a while... If its external and you are talking about a desktop as opposed to a laptop, then sling it, they're right cheap and you're better off with a version 2 usb anyway. Just get a PCI card and bung it in, should come with a driver disk and presto! all done!
  19. Sometimes you get 2nd user equipment on there that people don't realise the true cost of, and we can use it as maintenance stock or sell it and make a margin. We only sell and maintain Avaya IP Office and one of the biggest and IMO best switch manufacturers, Siemens.
  20. is this device an external unit or a PCI card?
  21. Not much of what you say is dealt with via the PABX anyway, its normally dealt with by a computer that hangs off the switch, unified messaging is done in a computer. You most probably have a Norstar BCM not a meridian.
