I filled my car up with Ultimate the time before last. Usually I fill it up with optimax. I found that ultimate is crap!! My car was missfiring a lot and just didnt feel as quick to spool up as when I put optimax in it. I've filled it up with optimax since and it's as happy as larry. I can confirm....Optimax is 98 RON. that is of course if it hasnt been stood for a long time! Paul.

Hi, I'm not sure what happened today with my car, but I think I hit fuel cut. I was in 3rd/4th - cant remember which with both turbo's on line. I looked at the boost guage and noticed that it was reading just over 1bar!! I've never seen it go above 0.9 bar even in cold weather before. I also noticed that it did get to 0.9 bar as normal, but seem to judder slightly and then goto the 1 bar mark. Then all of the sudden there was a jolt, no acceleration (felt like the brakes had been slammed on!) and the orange engine light came on. I had a service at the weekend at CW's. I'm wondering if he has tightened any hoses up to give me the extra boost or something? I have one cat out and an RSR exhaust, HKS FMIC, oil cooler etc. So I would expect to make slighlt more boost than stock. Any ideas? Paul.

Hi, Do you mean fuel cut? I dont think that it is fuel cut mate. If it was fuel cut then I think you would totally loose boost and lots of power and you would get a peak of power just before it happened. Paul.

Ohh ohohh....I like that cat idea! that hadnt occured to me! that gives me a bloody good excuse to get the first cat off and to make my car cat free!! I'll just tell my girlfriend that it needed to be done as it was broken! that way I get no earache for spending my own money. Oh hang on....I can spend my own money on what I like!! :D Paul.

Hi, I noticed today when the car was idling after I had driven it back from work that there was a rattling noise. I got out and had a look around. When I listened near the wheel arch I could hear the noise the loudest. I think it's coming from underneath the car. Any ideas what this is? could it be the fly wheel? Paul.

Hi, I have a noisy GReady oil pressure guage. It also always reads over 10bar all the time when then engine is running and 4 bar when it's not running. Is this a faulty guage? Can I fix it?? Cheers, Paul.

I think it's fairly safe. depends what kind of power you want. if you go above a 75 shot then you'll need an APEXi ITC or an aftermarket ECU to look after the timing. It just so happens that I have an ITC for sale!!! how about that! Paul.

D'oh!! Hang on, werent you trying to sell me one of these a month or so ago?? lol! so whats the best way to retard the timing for NOS then?? Is there no way to put the ITC on a switch of some kind?? Matty H??? Paul.

Hi, I've now got an APEXi ITC in preperation for a nitrous kit. I'm going to fit the ITC soon and leave everything at '0' to retain normal timing. I'm wondering if it's worth getting the ITC set up on my car as it is now?? Will it give me any gains?? I have the following mods: RSR exhaust, Second cat removed, HKS FMIC K&N Induction HKS BOV. The car is running 0.9bar boost. Should I wait until I have the first cat removed and an FCD, running 1.2bar? Or should I just wait until I have fitted the nitrous kit? Cheers, Paul.

Hi, I had to brake pretty hard about 2 days ago as a car pulled out in front of me. The ABS didnt seem to work though and one of the wheels locked up and skidded. The ABS light comes on for a second or two when I start the car and the Traction control works. I checked in the little relay box on the drivers side of the engine bay and there is a ABS Sensor relay, but no ABS MTR relay. Could it be this?? If so why would it have been removed?? Cheers, Paul.
