A mate has just got an evo 5 and would like to take it to this, just wondering if he could tag along even if its just the convoy up?
-
Im up for this.
-
I was looking at Evo 8/9's and Rx7's before buying the Supra so probably one of those. I have a MX-5 as a daily and im thinking of selling soon for maybe a MR2 or DC2 Integra.
-
Thanks all for replies. Came with car, previous owner said he paid 1k for it. The diffuser fins and vortex generators are seperate buyable parts, thats why i priced it at that. Maybe £600 is more reasonable due to the scrapes?
-
Just taken one of these off my car, comes with diffuser fins and vortex generators, i cant find any prices on the net for these, what should I be advertising it at and what were they brand new?
-
Looking at tyres, Fronts , Rears, for road use in all weather conditions, good choice?
-
Thanks all, tyres are my next purchase i think after ive sorted other little problems. Ill let you know if i sell the wheels. The racelogic unit is quite pricey, is it worth it?
-
Budget is not that much of problem but with English weather even in the summer I think an all round tyre would be better, What do people use? Ive seen your conversion thread, it looks very smart and ive not really driven it in manual mode as its a bit fiddly at first.
-
I think the alloys are 8.5inch, so what about, 245/40R18 Front & 275/35R18 Rear on either F1's or Pilot Sports, the Pilots arnt great in the wet but great in the dry, the F1's are good all round tyre at about £20 cheaper, any others I can look at?

Ive met drew before, took me out in his before I was looking to buy one. I want to see fast 7 so ill see what im doing and come down:) Only problem at the moment is the stretched tyres and the lack of grip even in the dry. The TC is on all the time when you put the foot down, the Race Logic kit looks decent but a bit pricey brand new. Whats the general opinion on these?

Thanks all! A few mates wanted me to keep the spoiler off but i wasnt convinced, now they agree it looks way better. The purple under bonnet bling is still there and I dont mind it, its definatly growing on me. Ive always wanted a white one and that was the only one for sale at the time, and i didnt want to wait any longer. Im from Sheffield, ive seen the thread in the Yorkshire section, i may pop along and meet everyone!

Been after a Supra for ages and after selling my focus st, i needed boost back in my life. After spending hours on here doing research and asking a few questions I finally own my first Supra I originally was looking for a manual facelift VVTi but there were none for sale at the time and JM Imports wanted 14k to look for one. I downed my budget abit and found a JSpec Tiptronic for sale on here. I bought it back in November, was a summer car and had the all the mods for BPU which I was going to do anyways, was white and looked in mint condition. After negotiating a deal and picking it up, a few changes were needed. When I picked it up: The car has not been undersealed and that was my first priority as it was going to live on the drive in the winter, while that was been done I had the original spoiler put back on and resprayed. The car was way to low to drive properly, scraped when turning and speed bumps were impossible so after much thought I took the car down to Chris Wilson and let him work his magic. While down there it had full service, coil-overs rebuilt, made higher, boost changed, fcd and other little niggles that needed sorting Picked it up this weekend from Chris and gave it a clean. Very happy with the work done by Chris, pulls like a train now and the kick down in the auto box is insane compared to what I was used to when I first bought it. It does like to spin up when pressing on, so I just need to get brave enough to turn the TC off. The spec is as follows: HKS Induction Kit Decat with HKS Superdragger Exhaust SRD FMIC Walbro Fuel Pump Blitz Boost Controller Chris's FCD HKS BOV D2 Coilovers UK Spec Brakes Visual wise the alloys and bonnet are growing on me, it had a Auto Shine Carbon diffuser on which was taken off. Not many changes here, I might change the alloys to some white Rota Grids but its not a priority at the moment. A nice white trial diffuser would be nice to neaten the back end up Other plans include getting better and non stretched tyres (F1's or Pilot Sports), race logic unit and a louder exhaust. Got battery problems at the moment with the alarm and I have no washer jets which will be sorted soon. Booked in for a dyno run in 2 weeks. I know ive gone on a bit but hopefully Il be along to a few meets with this club in the future.

Im interested, newish member never been to a meet, just wondered if we have a club stand every year and is there other shows on the calendar?
-
Im up for a meet, will be my first time meeting everyone, hopefully will get car back soon, so il come along definatly.
-
Thank you just having a look now
-
Ill keep it on, is the Blitz system a decent EBC?
-
Thanks for all the quick replies. The car has a FMIC and Chris is trying to fit the VVTI stock box in place of the HKS but the pipes are in the way. If it doesn't fit then I may leave it or relocate it to the side mount. After looking online it looks like I have a Blitz Boost Controller - Dual SBC Spec S from the images, not really chance to mess with it but like I said before theres mixed views on if you need one or not? The car has 1 bar restrictor ring in place according to the mod list of the previous owner. Im from Sheffield, thanks for the offer but Chris has one to try and fit. I hope he doesnt read this....he might knock the price up!!
-
I thought that about the boost controller, ill find out once its been checked over. What kind of power loss do you lose with heat soak with these cars? Whats the stock box like with noise?
-
Bought a 1998 Jspec TT Auto Supra off a member back in November and its currently with Chris Wilson getting lots of bits done. Its supposed to be running full BPU (getting this checked out) and its running a HKS Induction kit with a mushroom cone. After reading a few builds and doing a bit of research along with Chris saying the induction is not great and I should go back to the original box with a panel filter, I was thinking what kind of benefits does this bring? Ill get less noise but more stable power? Another question, the car came with a Blitz Boost Controller currently set to 0.9 bar. When its all checked it out i want to raise this to 1.2 and keep it that. Talking to Chris about this, he said I didnt need one, can I run it at a stable 1.2 bar without it? Some BPU builds include the boost controller, some dont? Whats the best way of doing it? Ive read the BPU thread and im still unsure Thanks
-
Following all your advice I have emailed Chris about the car and will get it down to him next year. Thanks, defiantly worth the travel on what Ive heard on here.
-
Thanks all, its really just for a check before i mess with the boost controller and peace of mind. If i cant get anywhere before christmas il just not have to drive it. I suggested GR as last time I went they were messing with a mad power Supra and had all jap cars on the ramps. Ill check out the others and i will travel if needed to get it done properly.
-
Bit out of the way, somewhere in the Yorkshire area, anyone used GR?
-
Just bought my first Supra, running full bpu but want to get it checked over before turning to 1.2 bar. Would like a dyno run too as previous owner didnt have one. Any places you guys recommend? Ive been adviced about GR Performance in Mexborough. Thanks
