  1. I recently bought both Denso OEMs from the US, due delivery this week. Funny that they came through " Speyer, DE" and "Köln, DE". Work out a lot cheaper than Toyota prices...
  2. Hmmm maybe thats what it is so, the brakes are clunking away and i thought it was that they're missing half the shims but that side still has its clips. Im sure it'll be a stupid price from Mr T given its such a small part, calling there after work for the inner valve cover hoses and coil pack connectors anyway.
  3. Looking for above, want to take the HKS one off my Aristo as its a bit stupid given the amount of sound insulation the car has. If you have the pipes in good condition that attach them too, that'd be nice.
  4. Anyone? Is there a spurious set available even? Cant find anything on the GS300...
  5. Ditto, even though its a low rpm engine i didn't see him go over 3.5k i reckon. Couldn't appreciate the sound of the v12 at that low revs, im sure the standard one goes to 6k-ish so this should be well over it.
  6. Need the above if anyone has them lying around (for my Aristo but they're both the same). Need both the shims and the spring clips that connect the pads. Cheers Edit: bought the spring clips from Toyota
  7. Not planning to if it can be helped, i was thinking of the oil pump alright. Vacuum hoses done, water ones not done. I did them about 3 years ago id say. Around 190k km. Ya i was hoping to get it up to SSI for them to do once i had the parts collected. Whats the benefit of Teflon over the OEM seals?

  9. Hey guys, i am planning on giving the engine a refresh so im planning on getting an engine gasket kit. I have a small front or rear seal leak, stem seals need doing and also having a hot starting issue which was due to me replacing the vacuum pipes, having the injectors cleaned and painting the manifolds (hoping this will sort it as i reused all old gaskets). This is to refresh the engine too so I'll also be getting a new timing belt, water pump, crank pulley along with the two breather pipes i missed on the outside of the valve covers. Is there anything else anyone would think of doing at this time or for future proofing rather than a rebuild? Ill be starting by sourcing the parts, probably from UAE Amayama as I've a sibling in the desert currently... This is on the basis that the OEM Jap turbos will stay in the car until they die, after that they will be replaced with either a rebuilt set or a small quick spooling single. Further on from that ill be stripping the underside again and replacing the bushs, suspension, etc. and eventually getting a windows out respray. Planning on all this and i was sick of the car last year and about to sell lol.
  10. Great its back mate, how was your commute on the ZX12R? I def couldn't take 2hours each way on public transport either, nor drive 2 hours each way for that matter lol.
  11. Have the guy do the VRT export exam before you arrive, its a simple check. If he thinks it will sell no bother it shouldn't be a problem, they'll then quote the VRT amount he'll definitely get back and you both can negotiate what to do then. Although the quote could take longer to receive as its not on the calculator anymore but at least the exam would be done and there would be no need to keep the car in Ireland.
  12. I ran my VVTi through our NCT (Irish MOT) with only the second cat and it failed on emissions. Passes no bother with first as said above, my second cat is in the shed now too.
  13. FYI if you do buy and want the VRT refund: "It has to be in your own name, has to have a valid NCT, be inspected by VRT crowd and then exported within a 4 week period. They will accept ferry receipt for proof of exportation."
  14. For a car that costs that much id agree with everyone here to be weary of anything and just look it over properly. I spent far less on mine and was under it looking it over, ringing the last garage that serviced her and having someone tail me when i test drove it. Anyway let us know how you get on.
  15. Looks good mate, fair play on doing all that work in an underground too lol.
  16. Underneath looks alright, seems to be a bit of bodywork needs doing and id check/rub the HKS filtration material. I had an old one flake apart once i took it off an old Civic i imported years back, luckily it didn't seem to do any damage but it could. Nigel you can claim VRT on a car once its being exported, needs a valid NCT and it has to have a VRT export examination done too i.e. back to the NCT centre. Once done you'll get your quote on OMSP and refund. Be a bit hard to do this if you bring it on the ferry the day after you get it! OP should have of this to be informed on how to get it: https://www.revenue.ie/en/importing-vehicles-duty-free-allowances/guide-to-vrt/export-repayment-scheme/index.aspx On a side note, its not a 1995 with original owner from Longford?
  17. Just a word on VRT, if its had a VRT appeal refund (i.e. someone appealed it and got money back but it might not have) that amount will be deducted from the refund amount. Example: VRT originally paid was 6k (36% of OMSP), appealed and 2k refunded. If the VRT refund you're getting is 2.5k (new 36% of OMSP), you get 2k taken off that, not a percentage. Also Supras were valued very low at one point here so the refund might not be much. Tbh the seller should take care of the refund, thats the way anyone i've known has done it... Hope it works out for you mate.
  18. TuneR

    R888R vs AD08R

Was that on the Supra? Thats amazing mileage with a tyre on the softer compound side.
  19. Hit the off button once; snow mode, twice; TC off and it illuminates a skid light. Have to do it at the start of every journey which is annoying.
  20. Talk about a sore loser, "i hate you car" *turns it into tyre wall....
  21. Good job mate but quick question are you all wearing masks in this picture...the heads look strange.
  22. Sure you can, the requirements vary but its basically once the car isn't owned by you, hired, you have permission, is otherwise insured (i.e. the owner and policy-holder of the policy on the car:p) and is roadworthy. Vice versa the same way they can drive your car unless your insurance policy is some weird ass thing thats the way it is....and im out.
  23. As mentioned if a summons does come through get some legal advise, also if they want to speak to your girlfriend it might be handy to get some before hand for that too. Depressing reading though mate. By your logic you cant drive other peoples car because they have that same "block" on you because the majority of cars are insured on the car not the driver. You've just contradicted yourself... The block you refer to is you, you must allow the other person drive your car and trust them as driving other peoples cars is third party only (even you). E.g. if your girlfriend/wife (not named on your policy) borrowed your car, stopped at friends house, car was robbed and burned out then your policy has no onus on it because your girlfriend was in charge of the vehicle and neither does hers as it is third party only.
  24. Only time it comes on in my triptronic is when the wheels have broken away fairly bad and then i remember to turn the TC off.
  25. Looks well mate, i always thought that kit would look better with the standard facelift lights though. Get some proper pics up.
