  1. 6k rpm!! Thats pretty mad!! Would your clutch not just give up after a few runs? Makes sense, my tyres a probably not suited to what I'm asking of them but normally I'm doing rolling starts and I never do doughnuts or drift (on purpose) so I never considered having a 2nd set of rears. So you recommend just leaving the tyres at about 32psi and just take it from there? Yea lol theres just loads of wheelspin and then you have to lift off and go again meanwhile your opponent is halfway home Yes thats what happened to me the last time, there was no in between. Either the car spun the wheels or it coughed away down to below 1k rpm before then accelerating again. It seemed sitting on the bite with the revs about 1200 and then lifting the clutch quickly but not to sharp while still trying to hold the revs then when clutch was out hoof it I look forward to next summer! lol
  2. I'm heading to Bishopscourt this weekend for some drag racing. I got a new set of Falken 452's recently so I'm hoping these give me a fair bit of grip The question is, how to get the perfect launch? I drive a Jspec TT manual and trying from 2k doesnt seem to work very well. I need to feed the clutch pretty gently untill its fully out before nailing it. To much clutch business and the wheels will spin, too little and im going through 'the bite' stage for too long and taking too long to give it boot. If I try a launch at about 1200rpm I can get the clutch out quick and get the foot down earlier however the revs are pretty low but it seems better. Can anyone throw me any suggestions? I have 265 35 18's on the rear at about 32psi. Not sure what I should be dropping this to for more grip. Open to suggestions and advice. Thanks
  3. I'd be up for this, I went last year in my EP3 Type R and was looking to go this year in the Supra but ran out of time with work and stuff. I'll let you know closer to the time
  4. Welcome along buddy, good to see another member from Northern Ireland
  5. Hadn't seen this thread until now, looks the part! Looking forward to seeing this out on the road!
  6. I didn't make it to Banbridge, had a late night and it was raining that morning so had no motivation lol, was it any good?
  7. Anyone heading to the Japdreamz meet at sprucefield this weekend? It was a pretty decent turnout at the last one and hopefully the weather will not too bad either
  8. Thanks guys, http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk cost £45 for the set delivered against Opieoils £60. Something to do after work on Thursday or Friday evening now
  9. Evening Was hoping someone could give me a quick yes or no on these plugs for my 1994 Jap TT BPU supra. Running about 1 bar atm. Alex's detailed guide here - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?41927-FAQ-Spark-plugs recommends BKR7EIX in his second post. Was going to grab these - http://www.amazon.com/NGK-BKR7EIX-Iridium-Spark-Plug/dp/B000GZAUX6/ref=au_pf_pfg_s?ie=UTF8&Make=Toyota|76&Model=Supra|1030&Year=1994|1994&carId=001&n=15684181&newCar=1&s=automotive&vehicleType=automotive but Amazon says nay it wont fit... Any advice or recommended place to buy these from would be great thanks.
  10. Was a good turnout, thought I'd pop this shot up
  11. I'll be taking a trip down to this Steve, should be a decent turnout if it doesn't lash Are you going to GTNI at Castlewellan on Saturday btw?
  12. Didn't want to spend much more than £800 as I still need to get tyres on top but if I saw something I particularly liked I may go a little higher They do look well, I'm still undecided if I prefer thin multi spoke or a wider 5 spoke style. This alloy choosing is proving to be a bit tougher than I thought since I can't just look at alloys and say yay or nay I'd have to imagine how they would look on my own car.
  13. I've been looking for new alloys for a while now as the ones I have have started to corrode and become generally nasty. I just had my MOT and all tyres are pretty much down to the legal limit so now is as good a time as any for a change Currently its looking like this - Im thinking silver is probably a good colour to go with the red and I quite like the polished effect but if anyone could throw a few suggestions it would be great, thanks

Gah weather forcast says its gonna be chucking it down all weekend ah well. I decided against Sprucefield so I'm gonna meet up with a few friends from japdreamz at seacat at about 7:30 Whapit are you meeting at sprucefield or Carrick for 10 btw? Looks like there is still a possibility of a mini supra cruise

I got the car MOT'ed today and im meeting up with a few at Sprucefield at 8am to be at carrick for 9am. If you're heading to portrush I'm sure I'll see you up there, should be easy enough to spot a few Supras cruising about

Lol the BCS guys aren't that bad, you're thinking of the 'seacat cruisers' If theres a few people up for it I'd rather cruise up with you guys since there doesn't seem to be many supra owners over here. So far I've had a chat with a guy in a southern reg blue/purple VVTI whos name slips my mind, a quick chat with Stevo at a set of traffic lights in lisburn and then you up at bishopscourt so an actual meet / cruise would be good lol

Yep as suprageek said its on the 24th. The belfast car scene guys gave this as the route http://www.belfastcarscene.co.uk/cruise-for-cancer-2012/the-route and gave the details about it here http://www.belfastcarscene.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?536-Cruise-for-Cancer-2012-What-is-the-Event

Was a decent day at Bishopscourt, pretty sure I got wind burn tho lol. Is that the Harmony Hill show you are heading to Neil?
  23. After reading some strongly negative opinions on Veilside kits I thought I'd post a picture of mine with the complete kit :-D
  24. Thanks guys, you have all (including Jake) recommended the same guy
