  1. I was looking for a tyre thread and was kindly shown this one. I have used continental sport contact 2, I like matching my tyres all round. I recently started looking for some rear tyres as they wear around twice as quick as the fronts. I have been looking at all ranges but would prefer getting continentals again just to have the same all around but at the same time am tempted to try these vred that a lot of you guys are mentioning. Are they budget mid range or top? My tyres are 275/30/19 and most places want £200/£250 a tyre.
  2. Hello, I noticed loads of threads on various topics but could not find something on tyres. Just wondering what you all preferred as in brands, new or part worn and where is a good place to buy. Thanks You
  3. Oh I got offered by my dads friend to meet on a saturday in McDonalds car park in team valley as well but I work friday, saturday and sunday so Ive never been they have a mixed car meet but he owns a red vxr, I know where you mean though. What time do you meet? start and finish roughly? I have never been to a meet and am not a loud character so would definitely be a bit nervous plus the fact most the people who meet up know one another quite well.
  4. Waiting until the 1st of may am afraid would be a waste to tax it so late. Where do you normally meet? I know I mentioned about getting the car serviced but where is the best place to buy parts like, timing belt, oil, brake disc and so on?? from a trader on here or elsewhere or do you just let the garage buy the stuff? Thanks
  5. Ill call him up start of next week and get a price. Has anyone been to revolution either? Which event is the best one to go to? There's a couple on our list, am hoping to attend one this year maybe two if possible. The last time I went was a good few years ago to santa pod, i remember seeing two powerful supra one orange and one silver and also the matt black dragon rx7 that broke down and the black toyota corolla.
  6. Hi stevo, I was going to tax it this month but the weather started going bad again so looks like may so I might look into taking it there around then unless I find someone else but from what people are saying he seems to be the best one to go to.
  7. Thanks shaz and dixon, is that company related to xo motorsports in any way? I normally get oil and stuff changed from a local garage but am sure it's time for a timing belt change even if it hasn't hit the mileage its not been done in a while. Should i get the full service and let them get the parts as well? would they know what to use? as in oil make and grade. Front bumper has stone chips on it now lol last year I did around a few hundred miles year before 1000 so haven't done much milage probably did well under 10,000 miles in the last 7 years.
  8. Thanks alex and thomo, I remember going to kwick fit last year and the man said ill replace them with copper, I know people do this a lot with standard cars wasn't sure about on a sports car. Do some garages give club member discounts I remember reading we did a long time ago but some people have been refused recently.
  9. Thanks guys, I only did around 1000 miles last year and was serviced the year before when I did around the same so have not serviced for 2 years, oil is still cleanish but I know that over time oil will lose it's quality. Just wanted to ask because I know some people pay extra for parts that are suppose to be better but I mean would a branded oil filter be better than standard one you get from toyota? I know some things are worth the extra £'s but not all. Ill have a look at the two links. Thanks again.
  10. Hello, just wondering if we have a section where it tells us when to service and what to use and I don't mean just engine oil and the grade you use but also other things like brake fluid, steering fluid, all filters, timing belt any other parts that people might not consider but could save ??? if replaced early before failure. Sorry in advance if this has already been posted and answered a million times but I had a long look and could not find anything (if you can direct me to the right place you can delete this section) . Also could the items be listed like what make part to use as people have personal preference. Am looking to get work done to it before I tax in april so comments and advice would be much appreciated before i get ripped off paying extra money for something that did not need doing or for a branded part that is supposedly better than stock.
  11. Hello, just wondering is it best to buy an exact replacement from toyota or replace with copper? Which method is best even if it cost more? Thank you
  12. Amazing car uncle, are you going to take it to any shows? Are you going to make a trip to newcastle anytime soon p.s I dont know if you had my number saved on your phone but its changed just in case you do come let me know please. Thanks
  13. Just send me a PM with an offer, am only going to say yes or no! Plus i would consider part ex if it helped. I hope it does as well Thanks I defo remember uncle Ibrar supra that came in fast car waaay back I think it was in 2001 but that was the old original one probably the first one, 6 speed manual with chrome wheels I have the magazine stored some place. I think blue is his favourite colour might be wrong about that but he's sprayed more cars that colour, still remember his blue celica was amazing probably because I was little when I first saw it even remember the small blue light he had that was similar to the knight rider red strobe but a lot smaller and placed on the dash lol But I never knew this one had been in a magazine as well!!
  14. Eh really? Well thanks for letting me know but it depends on what happens if no one buys it within a few more weeks then I might as well get a 6 speed conversion that would make me keep the car a few more years. If its hard and expensive to get it done I might as well trade it in but ill get a lot less then what I advertised it on here from one dealer, the other garage will give me more but I don't like any of the cars he has at the moment. Am surprised its not sold and Ive had no interest on the forum. If its priced too high someone should say so or make an offer but yeah thanks again guys for the advice.
  15. Thanks david, how hard/easy is it to source the parts and that is for the 6 speed manual conversion just making sure. Do most people just plonk a normal 6 speed in or do they modify them further? Am no mechanic so DIY is a no go for me, if I did fit it myself the box would drop out before I even start it. Would it increase the the value or desirability of the car as well? sorry for all the ?. Just wanted to make sure.
  16. That's one beautiful car uncle, I always knew you would build something radicle but you've just smashed the ball out of the stadium with this one. Hope you and family are well haven't seen/spoke to you in ages.
  17. I joined the forum after you started the build so have been playing catch up and reading/looking at your post page by page and its amazing how your cars turned out from stock supra which was, lets be fair ok at best to something that's phwaor!! I could see myself causing a accident while driving not paying attention to whats in front while driving just to look at your car. Do you drive it around newcastle? Never seen it before, did see a white supra at ASDA car park few weeks ago from far but very much doubt it was yours and then a white one parked around some flats in gateshead that definitely wasn't yours but was a very nice example but no where nice as yours.
  18. 10% off listed price if it makes any difference, I really want to sell this car to a supraforum member. I have a reasonable offer from a dealer for a part ex but he's just gonna sell it to anyone who offers him half decent money and I don't want to see this car heading for the scrap pit if some numpty gets a hold of it. Also do any of you guys know how much it would cost to convert this car to 6 speed manual? Thanks
  19. Thanks, the caps say pro5 or pros my uncle fitted them so I have no idea but I have never seen anyone else with them, they do look like braid style rims, I always thought what make they were but never asked him. He did all the work to it so if you wanted to know just drop him a message am sure he would not mind. Ibrar Jabar, he's doing an amazing build you've probably already seen it, makes my supra look like a wheelie bin lol
  20. Hi, my car ticks all the boxes but its a Auto! Would you be interested? Thanks
  21. Thanks supraman, It did say toyota/lexus from what I can remember because the garage closed down about 16 years ago. I just said toyota because thought it would be odd saying it was sold from a lexus garage.
  22. Thanks guys, had it up for sale on the forum around december/january time but was obviously the wrong time to be putting up, thought id try again as I would prefer someone on here buying it, thats why ive never had it on ebay or the autotrader.
  23. Hello, I have decided to put my supra up for sale, mostly because I have owned it for around 3 years now and I don't have any major plans/project for it and I would much rather sell it on to someone who will first of all take care of it and invest money if they want to but obviously taking care of it would be more important to me. I have been driving it less and less and because of the awesome all year round weather we have in this country its parked up for 6 months of the year. In the last 2 months I had done about 100 miles in the car and normally rank up about 1000/2000 miles a year max. Am sure a lot of people hear this a lot but am not really too bothered if it sells or not because its such a nice car. If I get a reasonable offer I will let it go, if not its in the garage for another winter but I recently got 12 months tax, think it was at the beginning of march when we had a week or two of nice sunny weather so a UK buyer gets around 10 month tax and MOT is due in July so I can get another 12 month if required. The car was originally sold from brand new from Newcastle Toyota main dealers in 1993 to a Mr Gains who also got extended warranty which expired 16/10/1998. The next owner was my uncle, Ibrar Jabbar who most of your guys and girls will know. He changed the car a fair bit including the color which was originally silver and installed a new engine so even though the clock shows the car has done around 105,000 miles the new engine has only done around 70,000. My dad got the car around 2003/2004 and then he gave it to me a few years later. The car has had colour changed, body kit all around, custom split rims, 6" titanium back box, 4" stainless steel all the way, Greddy intercooler, New radiator, Air filter, Dump valve, Greedy Turbo Pipes, Apexi Boost controller. Am sure theres some more work that has been done on the car but I got the car fully done and it was Uncle Ibrar who did 95% of it. Apart from regular oil changes the only thing I have done to the car was spend £1,500 on the sound system which does the job but I never wanted to shake peoples houses as I drove past. The last stamp I have in the service book was 2003 but as mentioned before I got it checked every year but off my dads mates and therefore never got any stamps. I have the original document holder with all the books, service, extended warranty, instruction book, mot and so on. The car has some bad points, the front bumper has some stone chips but thats normal I suppose. The plastic on the inside front left arch came off a while back and has not been replaced. The under tray also came off after a garage never replaced it back on properly and was not replaced. Both rear tyres need changing soon, Front to rear brake pipe slightly corroded, rear brake pads need changing soon, some of these bad points might be fixed depending on when the car sells. Price - Offers in the region of £10,000 possible part ex but depends on what you have. If I have missed anything off or you have anymore questions please ask. Thank you
  24. I could only find these two pictures, am sure the blue one was your first and the black one was the third the two missing from your garage.
