haha I just copy and pasted it over to make it easier to reply and understand! Ill have a peek and check it out, So i ve ticked almost all the BPU mods, In terms of servicing apart from the usual stuff is there anything else that I need to replace or check like injectors? Personally I do around 2000 to 4000 miles a year max, my dad did the same and am sure thats the same for my uncle, I always use shell V-Power so am presuming they would be fine? and what about fuel pump I know supranature said to change these due to age but again is stock best for my set up or because am going to get the stock ones replaced should I pay a bit more and got something better? I did think Walbro but in the BPU section it said that the stock one was better, quieter but more expensive so what would be the next option? Thanks again

Ah ok sorry its just most the people I knew that owned N/A bought them because they couldn't get insured on TT but it was wrong of me to assume, anyways I was joking about the first section, If I come to a meeting you can have a turn in mine I don't mind.

Provide a full spec of the car before you go messing with the boost control. I.e. - 1st cat in place? = Removed - 2nd cat in place? = Removed - Greddy Intercooler - Apexi Boost controller avcr - Turbo timer - Which cat back system? (Copy and pasted) Supplied by Invoauto to Jabbar in Birmingham. This client waited one year for our Generation 3 Ti tanium Limited Edition back box. This is especially designed for high boost 600-1000 BHP vehicles. The pipe work was custom made to fit the G3 universal box. Has a 4 inch straight through, with 6 inch tail pipe. This is the second vehicle in UK to have this special back box and was out on display at the JAE show on 26-27 July 03. - An Invo302 full stainless steel filter was fitted onto his custom made induction kit- - Is an FCD fitted? Nope, where would it be located? but am sure I don't. - Do you have a boost gauge? Greedy Mechanical Turbo Gauge 60mm - Do you have an AFR gauge? Air fuel ratio, if so no I don't. - Which spec plugs are fitted? My uncle fitted them cant remember the make but good ones gonna get new ones what you guys recommended. If you don't check the above it could end in tears

My dad would park the car up and start it every so often but the last 3 years I just disconnect the battery and if the Boost controller looses any settings once the battery gets disconnected the boost hasn't been set up for 3 years I wasn't bothered at first and decided not to play with it just in case I wreck the car! but after getting the info from you guys I really want to set it up but properly!

"There are better places to spend your cash :)" Krispy Kreme? Milky buttons I really would like to buy my uncles Supra but I know he's gonna keep that for a while!

To be honest I have owned the car for 3 years and driven it when it was my dads as well and I guess over time you kinda get used to it but at first I was like wow at the power but now it does impress me considering the age but am used to it so not the same feeling. I guess I was trying to improve it slightly just to get an extra kick but I don't want to go psycho and spend loads. so yeah I just want a bit more power but am sure a good service and learning how to set up the boost would do that.

Sorry Homer I meant Intake manifold for some reason I call it a throttle body lol It just looks nice but I know it only makes little difference probably none on a stock car! Yup the visible Aux belt. "Also, in case you didn't know the 2JZ is a non-interference engine meaning that even if the cam belt snaps the engine won't destroy itself" I didn't know this, actually I don't know much looking back at this thread haha but am glad you guys are here to help and am surprised no ones kicked off because of all the questions I asked mostly resulted me in wasting money rather than mentioning something good that would benefit my car. Thanks again

Ill PM the details over in a bit

I was tempted to get some grooved/drilled disc just for a better look and what I thought would give it slightly better stopping power but if most people thought stock were better after trying aftermarket then stock it is! Ill get a full service and upgrade to braided lines also might get the belt changed, looks tired but if I get some aftermarket ones is it just for look or are they slightly better material? I was thinking pulleys and cams to make the engine look slightly better but is that all they do? The best thing I have seen is the throttle body, I hate my stock dull one and the aftermarket shiny shiny one looks nice but even if it doesn't make much difference I still want to get one!

Never seen a yellow supra in newcastle for a while, I think it was a N/A Auto just rolled past so couldn't tell for sure.
-
Wow you guys just saved me from spending a lot of money for not much gains or maybe even less performance, I almost agreed to the stuff but the guy advised that I ask you peeps first and am glad he said that and I actually did. Am gonna do exactly what you recommended and what I read in the BPU section. I was shocked what you said about the UK spec brakes! Mine defo need servicing if they are suppose to be that good, they do feel spongy. Again totally surprised hybrids wont make much difference! I did find a thread some place on how to set up the boost controller but it just made me more confused Ill keep you guys updated but thanks again!

I will defo get it sorted need to get a full major service on it and my dads mates really good but specialises in BMW but he said he's done a few Supras as well, I was just waiting to see what people will advise me on basic upgrades in another thread I posted before I do anything else! Hello all I wanted to ask how to improve my cars performance in terms of safety and power/cooling. I visited a local garage (Revolution) where I have been a fair few times for other bits and bobs for the other cars but not the Supra. I am open to all opinions and options minus the internals which I would like to keep stock and I know this will limit the power to 450/500 Bhp. As most of you will know I have a UK Spec TT Auto. The guy said that Auto are harder to set up than manuals by tuners I was looking to upgrade the full brake system, the guy recommended (Tarox 6 pot callipers and 320mm Disc) for £1700 and said leave the rear stock or Leave the stock callipers and upgrade the disc, brake line and pads and he also said the stock disc are 325mm?. Obviously the second option is cheaper but what do you guys think? I already have, Intercooler, Air filter, Radiator is like new got it fitted 3 years ago hardly do any miles so not surprised, Full de cat, Stainless all the way through back box is Titanium, Boost controller Apexi AVCR but not set up, When I park the car over winter I disconnect the battery and I don't know how to set it up The guy recommended taking out the stock turbo and upgrading to hybrid or larger size? Will I need upgrade other parts like Fuel system? What about the other stuff like cams, Inlet and so on?? Hints Tips and makes of what to get would be awesome!!! Thank you all for your time and help and because you guys are so helpful I actually decided to become a member as well already made payment not sure how long it will take.

Thank you all for replying I almost thought no was going to help hence the The test centre's not that far from my house so my dad dropped it off and I picked it up, The guy just told me and wrote on the advisory sheet, needs new brake pipes as they are slightly corroded but never mentioned which section. I wanted to see if this is a normal quick and cheap way of fixing it something all you guys did but if it looks horrible and you guys don't then I don't see the point. I was thinking of upgrading the brake system but am gonna post a new thread for that. haha new centre it is then! I have no under tray full stop! I know you have the front and rear section but they both came off. Thank you for telling me how to adjust the lights really helps loads considering they point really low, ill go and try it and let you guys know but am sure it will work.

Welcome to the forum, Your car looks really nice and super clean as well
-
Thanks, I actually didn't know he was building another one until a few weeks ago! last time I spoke to him after he sold the black Supra I asked what next? another Supra and he said no something else. Glad he changed his mind but then again theres nothing on the market that compares to a Supra in terms of modifying and styling apart from Skylines but I get a lot more people looking at the Supra parked up or running compared to any of the skylines we owned.

You can have a turn in mine................ Once you buy it haha. I think its obvious that a TT or a Single are better than N/A but sometimes you have to make do because of the insurance because a few years back they wouldn't even give me a price for a TT full stop but my dad added me on his traders policy and agreed to a lower value for any car if I was at the wheel when it had a bump! I think the main thing I would be looking at is Manual or Auto, I have an Auto but was thinking about converting it to Manual but I would rather test drive one and make sure as both have positive and negatives.

Hello everyone I was meaning to check when MOT would expire on the 02/07 I checked it and it ran out the day before! Got the MOT done just today and it passed. The advisory sheet was as follows 1: Exhaust too loud (This made me laugh so much, had the same system for years never been told that before) 2: Rear tyres need changing (Gonna get sorted) 3: Brake pipes slightly corroded (Guy said he would fit new ones £100 supplied and fitted not sure if he's gonna make them himself?) 4: Rear brake pads need changing soon (Gonna get sorted) I normally get a few other warnings like number plate, lights facing too low, emission but this guy didn't. I need to adjust my lights but ill be honest, I know more about cars than the average person but when it comes to technical hands on stuff am not too good solely because I never have attempted to do anything myself but I am in general a quick learner so if I see someone do it once I can do it no probs! I just wanted to know how do I adjust my lights so they are not facing the ground too much, I have already set it to the maximum lift electronically. What the guys said about the brake pipes is that a good price and is it ok to make your own? I also needed to ask about under trays as my tray decided to break free after a garage decided not to fit it back on properly, does it make a difference if I have one or not? and the inside front left arch a plastic section is missing, well it actually came off the same time the under tray did but its the section as if your looking forward towards the engine and has some cuts for air flow to the breaks, hopefully Thank you in advance
