  3. Hi In my other thread people seemed interested in a meet. Rob (quarryman) suggested Chatsworth house. Which sounds like a good place to meet. So thought I would start a proper thread and see what interest there is. If we get a good number wanting to attend, rob said he would go down see if he can sort out getting an area for us to park together. Location and time are not set in stone. So if the majority want to meet at a different time/location then we can change it. Just wanted to try get something sorted. So who would be up for a meet there on Sunday 10th aug at 1400hrs? 1.   4. Is it not the second butterfly opening/closing in the inlet. Think that's around that point. Would probably notice more in the mk3 due to less weight. As above.
  5. Yes it's the soarer engine. 100,000miles. But car has been sat for about 6years without moving or running much, which probably not helped. Also been hitting fuel cut which means I've probably been over booting. But I knew it was a risk when I got the soarer.
  6. I have had a look at the thread that suprash has done. Didn't think he had them fully finished yet. It would be getting them balanced at the end that would be the problem for diy referb. I don't plan going over BPU power so may start looking at prices for second hand sets.

  9. Hi Where is a good place to have turbos rebuilt? I've sent a few places in the uk email, but I'm getting a prices from £200 up to £500 per turbo for replacing the oil seals. What price have people been paying? What's people's experience with turbos once rebuilt? Cheers for any help given. Ian

  12. Yes somewhere like that would be good. Would be hard to get everyone parked together, unless we turned up at same time. Is that price to park at the main house?
  13. Yes I've seen this. But struggle to make things in the week. So was looking for a weekend meet.
  14. I would say 1jz is cheaper up to a point. I've just done mine for about £800. Could have done it for less if I didn't change all the hoses for silicon. But that will only get you 350/400bhp at BPU. Not sure on cost of going single. You can get supercharger kits for the 1uz but not sure on price or what bhp you would get. 1jz BPU will feel loads faster than a NA.
  15. Hi Is there a regular weekend meet that people attend in or around Sheffield? Or Would anyone be up for a meet? I know there used to be a meet in chesterfield, but not seen anything of it in a while.

  17. I've just finished doing this, but Im auto. It's an easy conversion. Wiring is the hard part but that's not to complicated.   18. It's a good conversion to do. Can work out cheap if you can get a car/engine at the right price, and do the work yourself. I'm really happy with how mine has turned out.
  19. Will get a video up soon Car is sorted now with everything still working. Taken it out for a few little drives to check it all over. If anyone is thinking of doing this, I would say go for it. Car feels loads faster and sounds better than before. It puts a big smile on my face while driving. Will post up a full wiring guide once I've had chance to up date it. As had to change some wires round as the pin out I got off Internet wasn't 100% right.
  20. All sorted now thanks guys. Alternator as dead. Fitted one of NA lump and changed over plug and alls now good. Thanks for all the advice.
  21. Cheers mate. I've checked the plug and I've got power to 2 ports on the plug, 1 is switched. I've also got a connecter for the battery light. Think the regulator is blown.
  22. Think I've sorted most of it. Wiring was right but hadn't locked the plug back in fully. Just the battery warning light to check out.
  23. Yes that's what I've been using Thought I had all wires sorted. But something is off. I'll just recheck what I've connected
  24. So I've fitted a 1jzgte out of a soarer in to my supra. Done the wiring. The car starts and runs. Had to do 12v fuel pump mod. But most of my dash doesn't work. Only warning lights I get are the big red engine stop light and the oil pressure light. None of the others light up at all not even when ignition is on without engine running. Rev counter doesn't work ether. But have found a mod that needs doing for that. I'm thinking maybe a power or earth problem. So going to check this tonight. Anyone got any other ideas as what the problem would be? Cheers Ian
