  1. Cheers pal! I cleaned the battery terminals a few weeks ago tho, when i had a funny issue with the car not starting, not even turning over! just making some kind of electrical clicking somewhere! Do u think that the two are linked? Also, the stereo did the cutting out thing again today, and i noticed that the indicators werent effected! They carried on working!!
  2. cheers, will do, but wouldnt this cut the ignition out and therefore stop the engine?
  3. Ok, the stereo has been cutting out lately, every now and then it just goes off, (4 times on way home from work today) but always comes back on straight away. Only thing is though i dont think its the stereo, as today i noticed that the ABS light came ON at the same time the stereo cut OFF! The other night i also think i noticed that the headlights flickered off then back on at the same time as the stereo thing, but cant be sure on that one as another car was approaching behind me, so could have been his lights! I know that the ABS module is on top of the stereo, are they linked to a common relay or fuse or something?
  4. only want 1 car mate! the supe!
  5. Cheers for that! Very informative! no wonder it ate the back tyres so fast!
  6. Hi all, just had 2 new rear tyres as the middle and inner sides were badly worn! I'm thinking the car needs a full geometry setup, as the car is lowered but the wheels stick out at the bottom (negative camber?) What difference will i notice in getting the geo done to straighten everything out? I'm reading that the negative camber setting gives more grip but wears tyres quicker? Would i notice a lot less grip by correcting this? cheers!
  7. REDUCED to £3400 now, i cant keep this sitting on my dads drive forever!!
  8. What have u got to swap for it mate? a wad of £3600?:D
  9. I was looking at buying one of those meguiars a few months back but the price put me off! Bought a halfords one for £30 instead!! What waxes are you gonna use with that? I use Zymol, makes a good finish, but i've never tried anything else so dont know how it compares!

    Tyres

Will a 255 35 18 go on a 9.5 inch wheel, or am i gonna have to stick with 265 35 18, which are on at the moment? (the wheel actually measures 10.5 inch, but apparently that means its a 9.5, i dont get this!)
  11. Whats the best for wet grip then? I'm defo not a fan of soft rubber if there not gonna last 2 minutes!!
  12. Price now reduced to £3200 no offers
  13. Holy cow!! just checked the rear tyres, and the only good bit left is the outer part on show! The centre and inner part is very low on tread!! Guess i just assumed that they'd last a lot longer than this! How long do Toyo T1r's last roughly, on the back? i'm sure they had loads of tread when i bought the car 2.5 months ago! The front ones still have loads!
  14. cheers pal, will definately take it even easier in the wet now, its been raining REALLY hard here this week! Any advice on better wet grip tyres though? I'm not too bothered if it means losing dry grip, as the dry grip at the mo is absolutely immense!!
  15. Tyres are near enough brand new! The size is 265 40 18 on the back! Should i go narrower? The scary thing is i was going in a complete straight line, before it started to glide!
  16. Help! Was just coming home from work and saw a big patch of waterlogged motorway in front of me (about 15 foot long patch) was only doing 65mph, but took my foot off the accelerator. When the car got onto the watery patch it started to aquaplain, slightly sliding sideways, only slightly, which somehow i managed to control! The tyres i'm using are Toyo T1R's, should this be happening? Any advice?
  17. If u mean fuel wise, the gt4 is more economical, never had less than 21mpg average on a tank, but normally about 26mpg on average driving, 32mpg on long haul motorway trips!!
  18. I'm hoping to get the biggest audience hopefully in the car section! As for mpg, i've had 30mpg on a long haul motorway journey, but average town/motorway driving is about 23mpg, and the worst i have had is 17mpg when i took it to my favourite country roads, which technically means it did about 11mpg on those roads!!
  19. I know what u mean!! i've used this as an everyday car for the last 2 years, and now moved on to an NA supra!! Fuel bills are massive! But will i ever learn? Hell no!!
  20. Have my 205! Lighter, stiffer, faster :d
  21. Cheers pal, wish i could keep em both but i'm not that rich!!
  22. I have bought a Supra and unfortunately cant keep this car as well I have owned the car for 2 years 6 months, and in this time have spent a hell of a lot of money on keeping it sweet! Lots of new parts: ALL suspension arms front and back replaced with receipts Front lower arms, Banana arms, fig 8's replaced Rear arms (all 6) replaced PU bushes from fennies on the rear radius arms New battery NGK iridium plugs Blitz panel filter Whiteline Rear ARB (brand new unfitted) High rise spoiler (primed but unfitted) Cam belt done approx 30k miles ago Toad cat 1 (£300) fitted Speedo converted to miles New pads all round New rear discs Mileage approx 91k HKS rear box 2 new bridgestone potenza fronts MOT till next Jan, tax 2 months £2800 ono Overall this is a very clean, close to excellent car! Car is near enough standard, except exhaust and air filter! Even has the standard late spec wheels on! Boost never raised, fast enough @ jap spec 255bhp i think! Only things wrong are brakes are pulling a bit, and the fuel gauge stopped working a few months ago, but i didnt see the need to fix the gauge, as when the fuel light comes on, it gets a full to the brim tankful of V power, which returns about 280 miles! so i always know how much fuel left using the trip counter!
