  1. what have people used to fix the new badges on, is the backing sticky enough to keep the badges permanently in place or do I need to use a spot of evo stick or super glue?
  2. Got mine through the post yesterday. They look excellent, thanks for arranging this.

  4. Thanks for the offer but oddly enough that part (17552) was still in place on my car despite it having an aftermarket filter etc. It was just the hose (17881) and the associated clips and bolts that I needed so I popped up to see Mr Toyota at lunchtime and ordered them. .
  5. I was going to buy an Impreza but the wife said they looked too much like a Ford Orion with boy racer bits stuck on (sorry to any Impreza owners out there). She seemed a bit more impressed when I first took her along to see a supra although she fell in love with the RX7 the garage had for sale as well. I didn't feel I could live with the possible reliability issues of an RX7 so the Supra got the vote It's probably the only time in our marriage that I have listened to her and boy am I glad I did.
  6. Maybe they should give Boris the vacant Head coach role now that Steve McClaren has been moved up the ladderto the managers role. It would be nice to see someone in the England team actually make a tackle.
  7. That's excellent, just what i was after thanks Nic. Unfortunately i am after the parts before next weekend (I have a rolling road session booked) so it is going to mean a visit to Mr Toyota but thanks again for the info.
  8. I saw that at the legends game on Wednesday. One of the funniest things I have seen for years. His reaction when realises that he may actually have seriously injured the german is brilliant and Butch Wilkins patting him on the back as if to well done son. The guy is a legend.
  9. I have a Jspec Twin Turbo with an Apexi air filter and hard pipe fitted. I want to return the car to the original OEM induction system and have been able to purchase the standard airbox. Unfortunately I do not have any of the hoses or other parts to go with the airbox. What hoses\bits do I need to purchase to return the car back to the standard airbox (part numbers would be very useful)? Thanks in advance
  10. Used daily for the past 3 1/2 years
  11. Tightening the lock nut has stopped the fuel leak, it just makes me feel a little uneasy about whether it will start leaking again and cause some engine damage (or worse). To be honest if I replace it with anything it ill be the stock FPR. Thanks for help
  12. Hopefully tightening the locknut will stop the leak. If I need to remove any of the petrol hoses from the power boost valve do I need to do anything to depressurise the fuel injection system (to stop petrol spraying everywhere) or am I okay providing the ignition is not switched on?
  13. I have gone to start the car up this morning and am getting a strong smell of petrol. On investigation it looks as if the leak is on the FSE Power Boost Valve and probably coming through one of the two nuts on top of the valve (the top nut was loose). I have just done a quick search on here and can see that these valves have a history of leaking and now have it as my number one priority to change back to the original FPR. However I need to get this immediate problem fixed and make the car safe to drive. The main question is do the two nuts on the top of the valve adjust anything as I am worried about tightening them up, adjusting the fuel pressure and making the engine go bang.

    Lexus LS400 4.0 Quad Cam V8 auto

Car is completely standard (but not for long)
  15. I have the supra and an old Previa. I use the previa for trips to DIY places, the rubbish tip and whenever it is wet or icy. The wife prefers the Previa everytime as she says she feels safer in it. A sad reflection on my driving I feel. She doesn't drive so she will never understand.
  16. The Black wheels on a black car make it look like something out of batman. I think it works well.
  17. I have a Twin Turbo Supra and a Mk 1 MR2. The supra is an immense car with the performance that it offers but when I am in the mood the MR2 is far more fun drive. I think it has a lot to do with being able to use 8/10's of the MR2's performance and handling at normal road speeds where as to use the 8/10's of the Supra's performance and handling you really need a track. I assume the same applies to the MX5 as the MR2 only the MX5 will not rust as quickly
  18. What a ridiculous time to sack your manager, two days after the transfer deadline. If they had sacked him at the end of the season I would of thought Sven was a strong contender. I hope for Newcastle supporters sake that they don't put Glenn Roeder in charge until the end of the season, they will struggle to stay up if they do. I wonder what the odds are on Newcastle, Middlesborough and Sunderland all being relegated.
  19. That does make me feel old. I'm sure I still have the flexidiscs off of the first two or three editions of Smash Hits somewhere in the record collection. One of them was The Jam but I can't remember who the others were by. One of them may have been by Squeeze. I can see this turning to an old boys thread.
  20. I had a similar problem with my Clifford alarm and the installer said that metallic objects like coins near the sensor can cause problems. I checked in the ash tray and found a couple of 2 pence pieces in there. Removed them and it has been fine ever since.
  21. I'm planning on upgrading from my current 17" wheels to the Lexus 18" wheels during the summer when my current tyres need replacing but if someone was going to arrange a group buy earlier then I would go for it.
  22. The Kit is one of the Phillips kit's so it should be fairly good quality. Someone else has suggested that it could be an earthing problem so another earth might be worth a try. I know some people who brought kits recently found that they had to switch one of the connectors around which I did not like the sound of so I decided to cut into the loom and cross the wires over using a piece of connecting strip. I think I may have to go back to leaving the connections as they were originally and swapping the plug around like others have done.
  23. Last weekend I fitted an HID Headlight kit to my supra and I am not sure whether they are working correctly or not. When I switch the headlights on the bulbs flash and then go off again. If I leave them switched on (with bulbs not lit) for 30 seconds or so, switch the lights off and then on again, the bulbs light up and work fine. Once up and running the lights stay lit and are excellent. I am slightly worried as I have my MOT at the end of this month and I'm not sure if they will pass working like this. I have read elsewhere on the forum about HID headlamps needing to "warm up" so is this how HID headlights are supposed to work or have a got a problem somewhere.
  24. I've checked the fuses in the engine compartment and am currently trying to remove the fuses one by one from the fuse box in the drivers footwell. Can't find a bleeding torch when you need one so it looks like I'm going to have to put it all back together again and pop down to B & Q to buy a torch before I can progress any further.
