Looks amazing. That's gotta be more or less the last one of the production line. Well done -
If you have changed coil pack clips and it's worse, check you have wired them up correctly

Yeah it's amazing how much u get the love back especially when things go right, and putting in a productive shift

Boost problems leading to other nightmares!!!

I've just checked the pressure sensor and regulator vac lines and are all intact. And no boost cut. Also no stored error codes!! -
Boost problems leading to other nightmares!!!

Ok cheers mate. Think what I'll do is strip everything down ( boost pipes etc, check them all thoroughly and replace) I can't work out where the spray of coolant came from. I suppose I'll find out when stripping it down -
Boost problems leading to other nightmares!!!

I checked all intercooler hoses and relevant hoses and all are tight. And the upper hoses have been replaced. I just done understand that engine was idling/ running smoothly then take it for a blast then idles and runs like a bag of crap!!! Frustrating isn't the word QUOTE=Scott;3998854]Sounds like a boost leak. The symptoms definitely point that way. Most likely cause is an intercooler pipe popped off somewhere. it could also be the rubbers between the upper turbo pipes. They collapse inside and it's hard to notice them. -
Boost problems leading to other nightmares!!!

When I pulled off a vaccum hose there was a whoosh of air which I thought would indicate the system is holding pressure. What I can't work out is why the engine is running really lumpy( I suppose misfiring) would a problem turbo side cause this to happen? -

Pretty sure it's not turbo seals as there's no smoke from exhaust!! -
Right here goes: I replaced the turbos and after which car wasn't boosting as it should so checked for vaccum/boost leaks and couldn't find anything obvious. Anyway to eliminate any VSV trouble I put the car in ttc mode. I've just taken the car out and I plant my foot down and boost hits 1.2 -1.3 for literally 2 seconds then drops down to about .8 and slowly drops to .6, I then kick down again and similar thing happens. I pulled over into a lay by and have a look if any pipes have popped off which they hadn't. So off I go again and this time the boost kind of stutters as it creeps up to 1 bar but it's fluctuating and the car is juddering!!! I ease right off and approached a junction, this is when I can hear and feel the car running really lumpy and juddering. So I make my way home slow as the car now feels gutless. I've pulled it into my garage to try and see what's happening but can see anything apart from a spray of what looks like coolant up towards the back of the engine near where the turbos are but no trace of where it has come from??? I then rev the car gentle which usually promotes the hks bov to sound but nothing, I pulled of one of the vacuum pipes to which realised a pressure build up in the system which is what it should do I'm guessing. I then put the pipe back on and gentle rev to which I then got the bov to sound. But the engine is still running really lumpy and juddery. My wide band Afr shows normal running of between 14.7 - 15.1 and when on heavy boost it was in the low 10s. Does anybody know or have any idea as to what has happened. Is my engine knackered? Or could there be a simple explanation to this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's a auto bpu with all the supporting mods Thanks

Yep exactly mate, it's about time I found my way back on here again, it's be toooo long!!!

Thankyou for the link. Sounds like exactly the same problem. Really appreciate the help.

Hi, (I posted this up earlier in the wrong section, so apologies for the repeat!!!) I finally got around to replacing my turbos as the front one had chipped fins and was affecting performance. Anyway I took it out for a spin to check everything was ok and it was boosting okish up to just over 1 bar for a brief moment then was drop straight back to about .7 -.8 bar and just didn't feel as quick as I remembered and also wasn't getting that "rush" at 4000 rpm when the second turbo comes online. Now I assumed it must have been a boost leak so took it home and roughly checked pipe work and seemed to be ok, so I thought I'd put it into the temporary ttc mode where you bypass the IACV VSV and bypass the EGCV VSV to try and eliminate any possible problems with the vsv's. So after doing this I started the engine and straight away there was a metallic rattling sound coming from the turbo area, sound more like it was coming from the first turbo, as if something loose somewhere rattling around. Now I then pulled the vaccum hose from the EGCV actuator ( the big one that sits under the whole turbo "gubbings"!! And immediately the rattling stopped. What would cause this? Any help would be much appreciated as I haven't driven the car properly for nearly 3 years as have been doing bits and pieces to it and would really like to now just use and enjoy it again!! It's fully bpu auto. Also it doesn't rattle at all when in sequential mode. I'm hoping it's only caused by a boost leak so I don't have to end up stripping it all down again, but how would a boost leak cause this rattling? Thanks

Nice 1 cheers mate, great find. All I need now is the connector which I disintegrated !! -
Coolant temp sensor ( dash display)

I'll have to try and source the part numbers for these 2 bits, I normally get my bits from Paul (whifbitz) but he is on holiday for 2 weeks as from today. Typical, just my luck!!! -

Ok cheers mate, but yeah I knew it was the gauge one. It's a bloody pain, if its not 1 thing it's another at the mo!!! -
After stripping a lot of my engine bits and pieces down I had to take off the top water elbow ( the one with the 2 senors on) Anyway I disconnected the single wire sensor connector and the damn thing just disintegrated in my hand. So when it came to putting everything back together I just slid the metal connector that was in the plastic housing on to the metal pin of the sensor. I then had to bleed the system and now the dash coolant display does not read anything ( well very slight flickering. So I gather I need to get a new connector, would it be sensible to get a new sensor as well, its just it worked fine before I took it apart. So my question is has this happened to anyone else, and does any body know the part numbers for the connector for the single wire connection and the associated sensor. Hope my description makes sense!! Thanks
