  1. I think mine was £7 from Toyota.

    Hi

Hey up mate. Check this section out. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=59334 Also, try doing a search as it brings up what you want to see most of the time. Luke.
  3. Sump needs to come off and be refitted.
  4. Here's the bracket Pete. It sits vertically and one end bolts to the intake and the other to the block. The hose joint facing upwards is where I think that pipe goes to.
  5. Are they not the orange boxes?
  6. From what I can remember it goes down onto the intake support bracket which then has two hoses going to the vacuum pump/VSV.
  7. ABS unit on the right hand side just above the fusebox.
  8. I think it'll have to be redone. It's just annoying as it's the only part I can't get to without pulling the engine! I'll probably let it sit there for a few months before thinking of looking at it again. My fingers still haven't warmed up yet! If I get a good offer in that time I'll let her go.
  9. It sticks over the existing panels. It leaves a rim around the cover where you can see the panel below. Have you seen a Flocked dash?
  10. Sorry mate, I'm not thinking of taking any more work on at the moment. I've got too much activity coming up right about now which takes priority. Just need rid of it.
  11. Sorry to hear about this Dean. I've always heard about going single being a very slippery slope. I know you have to think of the move to France and everything but this will make a great car one day! Such a shame that problems keep popping up
  12. It seems as though it's coming from under the heads. Possibly a mixture of the two. It is the cast sump to the block which is leaking, not the little one. It's mad because I checked this a few times before fitting it and I ran the sealant around the inside of the bolt holes on the mating surface.
  13. Cheers guys, thanks for the positive comments. The oil has formed a puddle on the floor, you can see it coming from the bolts on the sump. There seems to be some forming around the oil pressure switch area also. I'm still unsure what to do, it's just such a shock at the moment.
  14. SOLD I'm sorry to say that I've come to the end of the road with my Supra. Over the past few months I've had the engine out and it's been fully rebuilt. It's developed an oil leak around the sump due to, what I can only assume to be, a lack of sealant applied to the mating surfaces. Spec as follows: 1996 TT Auto Red 160,000 kms Completely standard throughout apart from water injection and HKS filter. UK Turbo Setup Needs attention to the sump to stop oil leak. Full engine rebuild with receipts to prove, all genuine Toyota parts and brand new gaskets everywhere MOT until June, No tax The bodywork is good. Stock 16s with good tyres all round. The time and effort I have put into it recently cannot be priced as most of you have seen from the rebuild thread. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=160786 I can give further details if required as well as all the work I've done to her recently. I've just come to the end of my patience. SOLD Regards, Luke
  15. I didn’t use genuine Toyota sealant, no. I used the equivalent Locktite sealant, can’t remember the number at the moment though. I did some research before hand to ensure I got the right stuff and I can remember always stalling before it came to buying it as I wanted to triple check it was ok. The only real way, and proper way, to get this sorted would be to pull the engine again. I wouldn’t even think of trying it from below. It’s far too much effort and hassle to do it that way and I’d be concerned about contamination entering the engine.
  16. It's probably easier to pull the engine again and reseal it that way. I'd much rather do that than mess about under the car. I could get a garage to do it but it means more expense and more hassle. I'm still in a wierd state but I think I'll be letting it go.
  17. I honestly can't believe where I've failed! I got the car started and she ran sweet as anything, purring away without a care in the world. I then went round and checked for leaks whilst the revs were held at 2k. I noticed a small amount of fluid on the floor and checked to see what it was. Oil! From what I can see it's coming from around the sump at each bolt hole. It's not gushing out or dripping but you can tell it's coming from there. I think it's down to the amount of RTV I put on the sump. I honestly am gutted. To have this happen at this stage is unbelieveable. I don't think I've got the time or, to be honest, the patience to pull the engine out again. I'm getting to a stage in my career where I need to concentrate and having this car will draw my attention away from things that need to be done. Such a little thing has crashed my whole project! I'm really am gutted but I have reached the limit with this car. I know what will happen now and that's to let her go as she is. I really can't believe it! So if anyone wants a rebuilt TT which needs the sump re-sealing then let me know. I can give further details if required! Luke.
  18. Found out it was the orange connecter from the wire harness by the ECU, lever hadn't been pulled down to lock it in place.
  19. I'm having a few concerns about firing the car up for the first time. I'm not sure if it's just me trying to find excuses or I'm taking added precautions? I turned the ignition on and found that no dash lights appeared. I'm getting the MIL light and also the handbrake light but nothing else. The odometer lights up and so do the lights below it but I get nothing from the right hand side i.e. oil lights etc or the slip control lights on the speedo. I'd like to get it all working and working right before I turn the key! Thanks, Luke.
  20. It won't be the fuel filter shield, that's on the passenger side. The autos don't have an inspection point, just a rubber cap which fits into the block to gain access to the torque converter bolts. Does the plate have a grommet fitted to it and the cable runs through this?
  21. All cleared out now guys. Did a mixture of the two, sucked it all out with a baster then turned it over for a bit with the plugs out.
  22. I know, gutted! Was just tipping some in and the bottle went over too far. I've got a syringe so I'll get it all out tomorrow.
  23. Nope, too much of a glug went in and I'm worried about cranking it. Really feel like a goon at this stage!
  24. Need some advice please people. Got the engine sorted today and I was ready to fire it up. I decided to pour a little oil into the bores to help out with the initial compression and startup. Problem is, I went a bit mad with one bore and poured too much in. I have no idea what to do now! Will it leak down after a while? Any help will be great please guys. Luke.
