  1. Rang sky insurance, gave all my details, and David said he'd ring me back with the quote from the underwriters but he didn't!
  2. What if you're on stock TT's? How does one acquire this noise? It's something to do with the turbo's blades stopping spinning? So if BPU is added then the noise is more likely to occur?
  3. Sounds like squirrels are getting sucked into the intake when changing gear! Anyone elses supra sound like that? Is it the BOV or something else?
  4. For an auto supra TT so launch control not needed.
  5. Yeah instead of those crappy 'detention centres' or whatever you call them nowadays!!
  6. If anyone has the full RLTC kit that they want to sell, as long as it is in good working order, I'd be interested... please pm me! Thanks all
  7. Mine too! Completely agree with him! He just says it how it is without the clever wording and misguidance of most politicians nowadays. Wish there were more people like him in government. This country would really prosper!
  8. There such wankers...! Hate traffic wardens, and everything that involves paying fines...
  9. Agreed with that pete! Thats the truth and will probably always be. Thats due to lack of education usually. There's a whole area of study called social engineering which exploits this for hackers, crackers and the like... and makes the whole process alot easier!
  10. There's alot of emails I get where people say, "can you verify your ebay details to us please?" and then try and send me to a real looking fake website designed to get my user and password. Even the URL can look very real. For example: http://[email protected] will NOT take you to ebay but the ip address that follows. It's all very clever and I spent much of my youth learning it all which is why I'm pretty clued up. Stay safe, use common sense!
  11. No mate I mean keeping your browser, e.g. internet explorer or firefox or whatever and getting the latest security updates available from their respective websites.
  12. I would say that having password files on your computer is much more unsafe then typing it in everytime (like I do!) The password files that store all your info is very convinient for hackers as it gives all the info in one conveinient place... and the encryption on those files is VERY weak indeed!
  13. Absolutely not! A good written program will probably kill your firewall to transfer packets out of your computer system while making you believe that the firewall is still active. There's no way to be 100% secure, but being cautious with what you install in your machine is definately a good start. Oh and keep your anti virus and firewall updates as often as you can, not forgetting browser updates which I think is the easiest way to access someones machine!
  14. Nowadays computer systems and networks are MUCH more secure then back in the old days. I can say this with very good authority. The weakness often lies not with the webservers security but with the users (i.e. you, me and the rest of the consumers). Peoples machines themselves aren't very well protected. Often it is very easy to access someones personal machine remotely... then install some kind of worm or trojan that is not detected by any scanners and will do whatever the 'hacker' wants it to.
  15. LOL... Just read your post back and realised... Must have been looking at it with an innocent mindset!
  16. That sounds like a very reasoned opinion and very accurate. It's just that in london, owning a manual with a heavy clutch can become very taxing on your left leg. In anycase, manual is alot more fun, it really is a trade-off one has to consider carefully when purchasing.... but as we already have a soop, it's even more difficult now deciding whether or not to change it! I could be tempted if someone had a solid box for £1400 - £1800 with a good clutch... but I'm sure before I hear about it, it'll be sold!
  17. Graham, I'm not stating my opinion, just something we heard from a very prominant supra dealer at the time. He just said that manual supras tt are "unbearable, especially in traffic." And that the power difference is negligable and you'd have to make "perfect gear changes" in order to stay with an auto soop. £3K is too much for the conversion though I reckon. I'd be willing to pay half that maximum probably... not anymore... Unless my gearbox suddenly fails
  18. No mate, auto soops are better then manual soops because of "awkward gear ratio's". Haven't driven a manual one so I'm not sure myself...
  19. Thats all I bloody need! *sigh* Only kidding mate, good on ya... is yours a tt?
  20. Car was imported via newera by my brother 5 years ago. Think that the premiums for a decent manual were high back then and were advised that auto's are generally better also (NOT by newera may I point out...) Thats the reason basically. If it were me, I would have got a manual from the start, but because the car is in very good nick, low mileage and has plenty of ice mods, I can't bear to sell it and get a manual.
  21. It really is a case at the moment of 'if its not broken dont fix it!'. Auto box runs great. Only done 33K miles. Does anyone know the life span of the stock auto boxes? I'm thinking if it breaks soon then I'll have the perfect excuse!
  22. I have the money, but I asked to make it more viable, not on how to afford one!
  23. £300!?! Thats only 10% of the conversion cost... Any suggestions on how I could make this more viable?
  24. Hi all, I have been thinking.. and the only way I can justify a manual conversion is by recouporating some of the money back from the stock auto box. Is there any demand whatsoever for Auto conversions here? It may be a dumb question, but if I could shave even a grand off the conversion, it'll make alot more sense to me!
