  1. No, not as I undestand it.......720 progressive is still less then 1080 interlaced........
  2. Right he has found me this model of TV at a very competitive £550..... http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProduct.action?product=KDL-40D3500&productsku=KDL40D3500U&site=odw_en_GB&pageType=TechnicalSpecs&imageType=Main&category=TVP+32-40+Sony+BRAVIA+TV
  3. My chap said my screen will be a true xxxxx * 1080.......this is one thing Im not scrimping on, this TV will probably be my TV now for about the next 5 to 8 odd years, so screen quality is something I wont to try and nail right........
  4. Gav I dont see the point in buying a 720 screen if Sky are broadcasting in 1080i, and I will be using blueray which is true 1080p, your TV then is letting the picture quality down...... Oh and my mate said that the TV he will get for me will have a contrast rate of 33000:1, it looks like this TV would cost about a grand in the shops and he reckons he can get it for me for about £600........
  5. YEah I have just learnt this, Sky broadcast in 1080i, which is interlaced, meaning they only re-transmit colours that have changed, but my mate said that you would need 1080p (progressive for making the most of blue ray. Anyway he works for Sony so get 40% off products, so he is going to sort me a good spec'd TV for about £500/£600 quid, certainly saves all this minefield business......
  6. Thats odd, everyone is telling me I want true 1080p ??? I dont know nothing about TV's but even Im sure I need 1080p......?
  7. Interesting So not worth going stupid on cables then, just enough.... My mum was telling that when she was buying her TV the chap told her that all the screens for the different brands are made at the same place in Japan, one big plant, lol, even I laughed at that....
  8. Oh mate mhz I have been trying to avoid, refresh rates etc, this is what I didnt want to get into lol, Oh no I can see Im not going to get off lightly on this.....Hmmm, just googled that Sony you mentioned, first link coming in at £749, thats cheaper, bigger at 40" and you say the refresh rate on it is good, so wheres the catch with that one then ? I dont understand....... Shall PM that chap as well
  9. I should have guessed really shouldnt I, thats usually my first trick if I dont really know about something, forum it lol.......Oh well here goes to getting blown away by the can'o worms Im about to open lol......
  10. Yep, Im living it now lol, I have been advised not to skimp on cabbles, buying the £60 jobbies etc so will do that. Have already decided it has to be 1080p and thought I found a bargain 42" 10180p input TV but then found out that 1080p input isnt true 1080p is upscales. I will upgrade to Sky HD and then have my PS3 for blueray, so could get away with 2 slots, but one spare would be nice, but if there was a difference on price then one less slot wouldnt bother me
  11. Sorry mate, bit confused, what series was that one you posted, as that was £745 ? But are you saying that the one I was looking at in Curries was probably a series 4, that you can get for under £600 ?
  12. Right Im buying myself a HD TV for my birthday as I have no misses to buy me one for me lol, thing is Im cack at shopping at online. I have been into Curries to browse their TV's and get up to speed with all this HD Vs Ready and 1080p waffle as Im a right technophobe when its comes to home entertainment stuff, but I think I have decided on the spec, which is a 37" LCD 1080p HD TV.... Which retail is £800, but could I get it any cheaper online, obviously brand would make a difference, but is there any quality difference between brands ? The one I picked out in the shop was a Samsung I believe...... Does anyone know any good online places that could better this price ? Thanks Guys.....
  13. Mate, there is a lot there you dont need, and that price is about twice what you can pay. Bottle heaters you dont need......the NA's are pretty strong and can take it....
  14. Ha, I thought when I posted this you would spot this lol, this aint cheating, its called using your resources around you....... BUSTED though.......still Im going to get a go in if it kills me, he aint giving in so far but he will lol And greg, well done, you got it right
  15. Erm, well if you come down to our next drift day a passenger ride in the drift car we have been trying to guess.......or failing that a not so spectacular passenger ride in mine lol......
  16. Ignore me, Im being a prick lol, too early.......
  17. Is that a badge, I thought that was a clear fricking indicator lol..... We'll I should find out tomorrow if we're right......
  18. This is where my money is too Jurgen, those boxy looking skirts are just screaming drift S13 to me.........
  19. Mate dont be sorry, its the only way you'll learn...... No, a boost gauge cant be used, nos is not a form of boost, boost is forced induction, paking more air molecules into your cylinders then the engine could normally suck in on its own.... Nitrous is air molecules that are denser, or more tightly packed then standard oxygen, so it produces a bigger bang the same way forced induction does.
  20. But thats my point mate, thats all your vacum gauge is doing, its a visual for you excelerator, so as you put your foot down your gauge see's the vacum and moves the needle. The only point your gauge will show nothing when you have your foot down is when your gauge is broken. Mate this gauge is nonesense, I wouldnt get so concerned about it, it shows you nothing, apart from having a nice pretty gauge on your dash that does something when you put your foot down....
  21. This is all I have Im afraid fella, but failing this load it into paint and expand it, it wont make it any clearer though as it will just end up as giant pixels.....
  22. Hmmmm, ok I think you might be a little confused about things. An air fuel ratio will be good to let you know if you're running lean, and a vacume gauge is from what I can tell, pointless, its just something to look at, your engine doesnt require a vacume gauge, it doesnt monitor anything specificly to the point where it would show a problem with anything, unlike a boost gauge on a turbo'd car where the gauge would show if your turbos are spinning to fast and making too much + boost. So you can keep the vacum gauge with or without Nos installed, if you want something pretty to look at. An air/fuel ratio might still be usefull, but again I doubt its an absolute requirement.
  23. You lot crack me up, need bigger pics lol, if I had a full size pic do you think I would be trying to guess what car it is lol Right so far guesses that have been wrong are: estima something american 240sx chaser
  24. All I know its Japanese and drift ready, but can anyone guess the car fron this ?
  25. Yeah I couldnt figure that out......
