  1. I got my J-spec TT Supra at the end of last summer and it is now due an MOT but doesn't have any cats? Will it pass or do I have to find a cat to put back on for it to pass? The car was taken away by a mate of a mate for it's MOT today but it wouldn't even get onto their ramp (4x4's are their usual vehicles) and they said that they probably wouldn't be able to pass it without a cat? What does everyone else with no cats do MOT time? P.S. I'm in Banbury so if you know of an extra friendly MOT man nearby let me know.
  2. Any of the members ever been to the SEMA show in Las Vegas or is it a trade only show and not open ot the public? I always thought it was open to anyone but according to a website its not. http://www.semashow.com/main/main.aspx?ID=/content/SEMASHOWcom/HomePage Which is crap as I was planning on going to it this year. Anyone know any more?
  3. Wheels sit fine, car drives fine. The garage and I have had the car up in the air loads of times and there is no problems.
  4. Yep. I had it all checked out and was given the all clear about the subframe. That noise was not the suspension but the rear brake discs. I borrowed a mates garage, stripped them down, removed the rust from the discs, put it all back together, adjusted the handbrake and all is now perfect.
  5. When I first drive my car from cold most of the time the engine will 'stutter' with anything other than very gentle acceleration. but after about 20 seconds of driving it will be fine. Also when the engine is still cold I can see the revs flickering at idle if I drive off and get stuck in traffic or lights. Just for a split second the revs continuously drop 200 or so rpm and then comes back to normal straight away. When this happens I actually feel a thump. Again this goes away once the engine is a bit warmer and we are on the move. Any ideas, as other than this little problem I am loving the car?
  6. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/QUARTZ-Tiles-Stunning-BLUE-with-MIRROR-FLECK-40X40_W0QQitemZ180204225944QQihZ008QQcategoryZ42128QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p1638.m118 Girlfriend wants these in the entrance hall, WC floor & wall and in the coat cupboard, 10-11 square metres in total. Has to be blue and the layout I like would require 600x300mm. Anyone know where I can get then from for less?
  7. Surely if I just added waterproofer to the concrete without replaceing the membrane then any water would simply travel through the old (non waterproofed) concrete. Maybe I'll get some hyload and waterproofer. All this hassle just to get a loo to sit against a wall, lol.
  8. Thanks guys. Off to UGS builders merchants in the morning so will see if they have any hyload dpc adhesive. I know a lot of house don't have any but mine does so I'd rather replace the missing part rather than having to pull up my new floor tiles at a later date to fix a problem.
  9. Who ever built my house put the soil pipe for the downstairs loo too far from the wall so that the back of the loo sits 3 inches from the wall. I've just dug up the concrete floor, through a section of the plastic damp proof membrane and through the compacted stuff to where the straight pipe connects to the main inderground pipe and will replace the straight section with a couple of 30 degree bends to move it nearer the wall. I plan to cut a new piece of membrane and glue it to the old one so that everything is still sealed. Is this ok and if so what product do I use to bond the 2 together?
  10. I had one advertised on here for sale for a while but had no interest so binned it on Friday as I was having a clearout.
  11. The similar one on ebay goes for around £99.99 plus postage. I'll accept £50 plus postage but Robert, MK47 has first dibbs. If he doesn't still want it then you have 2nd dibbs.
  12. Yes I do still have it. Meant to relist it on ebay but will wait for the new year unless it is sold before then.
  13. Actually it grew out. Unlike the area where I cleaned the spray gun with white spirit, it's still yellow. Sod it, I've got weed and feed in the shed, I'll throw some on next spring. Besides, the GF wanted the lawn so I couldn't care less.
  14. I have some parts for sale still so have stuck them on ebay if anyone is interested. Rear seat in perfect condition http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280180333878&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=018 Autoleads Universal DIN Pocket. Perfect to fill the space left when fitting a sinlge DIN stereo http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280180360168&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=018 Autoleads Electric Aerial http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280180339596&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=018 I also have, though not on ebay, a standard Front bumper Lower Lip. Has been repaired but not really visible when on the car. £10 as it has to go or will end up being a chew toy when my puppy arrives. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=123892 Finally I have 40sq ft of sound deadening that I will not be using. Open to offers though similar stuff on ebay goes for just under £100. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=133088
  15. The girlfriend keeps telling me Kuma is wolf. I know she is wrong but to shut her up can someone tell me what wolf is. I know it looks like this オオカミ
  16. Bought this to do the whole floor but never got around to it and now can't be bothered. I have used a bit of it as it was originally over 45sq ft, but there is still over 40 sq ft left. Open to offers but as a guide this is of a similar size to what I have: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CSS-Sound-Deadening-BULK-ROLL_W0QQitemZ140150225122QQihZ004QQcategoryZ1498QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem Collection prefered as it's not the lightest stuff so postage wouldn't be cheap, or buyer can arrange a courrier.
  17. Thanks people. Not sure if it's a good Akita name though.
  18. Anyone know the japanese word for Bear? I've bought a Japanese Akita puppy and the girlfriend keeps thinking of stupid names for it including whatever is the Japanese word for Bear, as it looks like a small bear. So I thought I'd find out what it is so I can add it to the list of names we are not calling it. Tried the transation website so know the word is spelt くま but that's not a lot of use. And BTW it's not me in the photo with the puppy.
  19. Have bought a bungalow with planning permission for a loft conversion which I will be doing with a mate or two. Only problem is I have never done one before. It's got planning for a huge dormer at the rear and 2 small ones at the front. Which is just a bit of woodwork so am not fussed by that. What I want to know is about steels. How many, where do they go and what's the easiest way to get them into the loft space. Also the joists are 4x2 but I'll need 6x2's. Do I just bolt the new ones onto the side of the 4x2's or, as an ex builder suggested, remove the whole roof and fit new trusses designed for the job. Problem with this is that I then lose every ceiling and will make even more mess. Seeing the architect that sorted out the planning permission on Monday but would like to know more before then. Any tips or advice would be great.
