  1. I have a TL1000R (pic in my garage). Perfect size bike for me. Like R1's and 1098 ducati's but like most modern superbikes too small for me.
  2. I was just aimlessly looking on ebay the other day when I came across this 5 piece bodykit for £21,800 consisting of "Front Bumper Spoiler, Side Skirts, Rear Bumper Spoiler, Trunk Spoiler & Roof Spoiler" does include free postage. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WALD-5-PIECE-BK-BISON-BODY-KIT-BENTLEY-CONTINENTAL-GT_W0QQitemZ260345542961QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item260345542961&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 For pics of it at the Tokyo motor show look here http://www.madwhips.com/wald-bentley-continental-gt-black-bison/ Admitedly it's a fantstic improvement over the standard boring look of the car but definiely not cheap and you'd still need to pay out for fitting, painting, wheels and exhaust. Ouch!

    Car Tax

Can I tax my car despite not yet having it registered in my name as I'm still waiting for V5 to come through from DVLA, tax is due at the end of the month? If I take my copy of the V5 (the piece I got from previous owner), driving licence and insurance certificate to the post office will I be ok?
  6. Thanks everyone. I'd like to use my engineering degree (I think) but am finding that in the current economic state companies won't take on anyone unless they have 2-5 years up to date experience, even tho I have the degree and recent CATIA qualification. Actually I should say that the recruitment agencies (all jobs seem to have to go through them these days) won't put me forward due lack of recent experience. Would love to get a job in the Middle East or Australia, especially right now as I've got no ties.
  7. Thanks monswen, PM sent.
  8. Anyone out there other than me never really had an idea of their career path? Seems like I have drifted through life (33 now) with interests but no big idea. Even during my Engineering Degree I wasn't sure it was right for me. Now after drifting through various jobs including, design engineer, bouncer, gym manger, property developer I once again find myself out of work (thanks economy) and totally skint. This time I want a career, not just a job! Did a CATIA V5 (3D CAD used mainly in automotive and aerospace) course last October to try and use my degree but automotive industry has gone very pear shaped so am having absolutely no luck getting into that! Quite like the idea of disapearing abroad but wouldn't risk it without a job to go to. So what to do know? Carry on drifting or try to find direction?
  9. When I was a kid my dad and I always used to usually clean the spark plugs rather than replace them. Used a small wire brush to give them a good scrub, a bit of fine folded sand paper to clean between the contacts and then had a feeler gauge (same tool used to set tappet clearance) to set the gap.
  10. Advertised my car for sale in a few places and had some t**t sending me abusive messages and even tried to ring me. Obviously one of this towns imbred locals I just ignored him but now is the time to get him back. Had a mate try to track his number but his phone is pay you go not contract. I have his number so have considered signing him up for everything possible from all over the world so he gets calls 24 hours a day, but I'm not spending days online to do it Any quicker solutions. 07950618170. Whoops, did I just give out his number.
  11. When I got these I had the choice of; Very light smoke 70% VLT Light smoke 50% VLT Medium smoke 35%VLT Darks Smoke 15% VLT Limo Black 5% VLT I chose light smoke all round so not to attact the attention of the police yet to still look good. I've got no pics as I never fitted it to the car. They should require no cutting as they are pre cut to size. To fit them you will need some baby shampoo, a heat gun (to shrink them to fit complex curves) and a bit of patience.
  12. Complete set of pre cut window tints plus one extra rear quarter so you can have a practice before you start. Light smoke 50% VLT Comes with full instruction and application tool. Bought for my car but sold it today so no longer required.
  13. Sold my Supra today so can now afford to get a van for work. Anyone selling one? Currently looking for a SWB Vivaro, Traffic or Primastar, preferably in black, though I may consider silver (definitely not white) in good condition.
  14. Spent 2 hours at b&q's with their 'designer' this afternoon. Other than being able to use their design software he didn't really do much designing. Instead I had to make all the suggestions and solve problems. Wickes tomorrow and then I'll try Moben and or Magnets. Might pop into John Nicolls over the weekend. They are bloody expensive but hopefully they have a designer that can actually design.
  15. The development property had a Howdens Kitchen fitted by the previous owner less than a year ago and it is awful. It looks cheap & nasty and it badly fitted. Plus after Howdens wouldn't even give me a price or some doors last year cos I wasn't trade I won't ever be using them.
  16. I put a Wickes one in my parents many years ago and it's still going strong. I went in yesterday but their design bloke wasn't there. Didn't see any stone worktops in the brochure or display kitchens though.
  17. I do like the look of Kitchens Direct and Moben, especially for my own home. The development property is going to be worth around £400k hence the need for a quality look and feel. Just had a look on ikea website. Their stuff looks good quality. Might have to make a trip to one of their stores for a better look.
  18. Got to buy 2 new kitchens, one for a development property and one for my own home so am interested to see who you guys recommend and say to avoid. Both kitchens have to feel like quality products (quality drawers that don't stick or wobble etc) Got a design meeting at B&Q today, just as a starting block. Also have brochures for Moben & Kitchens Direct (same brochure)and been on Matrix Kitchens website (not heard of them before). I've read about a kitchen company up in Oldham seems to get a lot of very bad reviews.
  19. Booked in at Mark's tomorrow. Spoke to the reception when booked so hope he is around when I turn up.
  20. Thanks CJ. As I've juist said I've got in booked in at a local garage but if it fails I'll give Mark a ring.
  21. Thanks Andy, I've got the car booked in at a garage on Saturday so I would need to get hold of a cat by then. What does concern me slightly about putting a cat back on is that the my exhaust hung about an inch off the ground when I bought the car and a friend and I at a local fabricators took off the 3 sections and had to cut each of them 2-3 times and weld them back on for a perfect fit, so not sure how it would line up with a cat back on. The back box and 2nd section are 3" diameter made by Kakimoto and the 3rd section that bolts to the down pipe is 3 1/2" diameter (no idea what make). So to replace the 1st cat would it simply bolt in where the 3 1/2" pipe is. What about the 2nd cat, does that just replace the middle section?
  22. Not that I know. I've only lived her a few years so don't know any friendly car MOT people. I know a friendly bike MOT man tho.
