the background.. well we currently have a 2.8 v6 4motion golf 2003 a 2000 plate 1.8 focus ghia my L supra na the golf up to now has been the wifes.. we have money on credit cards i really want to get rid of The wifes friend has a focus st that in a years time the wife wants to buy when she is finished with it.. I drive the focus everyday and the wife drives the golf.. her drive to work is short and non exciting we drive the supra very rarely .. i think in the last month i managed 150 miles max. (that using it a lot for me) anyways she has decided that her golf for what she uses is costing her far to much in fuel and has taken my focus for work for the past 3 weeks and not even looked at her golf. now this has left me with the golf and the supra.. which is a bit pricey to run/insure and i could not drive the supra everday as we want a nice low milage family car.. (not saying the family car has to be slow) so was wondering what i should do.. sell all 3 get something small for her and something big and fun for me (s4?) and pay the rest on the credit card to get rid of it.. leave her with the focus for her use it as family car.. sell the golf and sup get me a civic type r as would be good for my run to work.. again use rest to pay of card.. run the golf. sell or keep the supra(and credit card ).. leave her with focus.. sell both any buy me and s4 or similar.. as i would not own 2 cars i could easily afford the extra in fuel as no longer paying 2 insurances etc. and pay off card... what ever i have has to be enjoyable and i can play with it a bit.. i am soo confused.. any other car suggestins for me?

thank mate as you say i hope it works out for you.. at the mo i still am an electrical engineer working shift work.. but i do plenty of overtime which i do not really enjoy and would rather do this to replace that.. as for the above comments.. 1).. i did have.. but currently looking at getting another and then installing several flood lights to so my work 2) insurances being sorted this week.. is it only traders and liability i need? 3) I have tried many different products.. meg's works well for me and they do a detailer range not normally available in the shops so looking into getting that. 4) I want to start working from home as i want it to be personized and i can give a better finish in my own premises.. but if required i will look into getting a van.. not out of a car 5) ferrari.. hmm not yet.. but working my way to it.. do not wanna run before walking.. but happy doing like said evo 10 etc.. 6) cash to start with but will be lookign into it 7) my wife works at a company that does web design so it will be being looked at 8) like said starting very small as making it bigger.. not gonna make a huge company straight away as its not my bread winner.. wanna get some cover sorted before winter though.. thanks again..

thought i would shorten the quote.. first off many thanks for the info/help.. i am gonna be startin very slow and only really starting with friends and family and friends of friends to start with to get a good base and walk before i can run.. i have done a few cars where the owners have been very fussy and they have been happy.. always have to be honest.. its like the focus above as soon as i looked you could tell the rear quarter had been resprayed.. and as typical red not prefect match.. and there is no way you can detailed it to match.. but pleased with the finished articale as it has got me some work from a local small trader that i bought the car form. I want to avoid the people that enjoy the £5 car washes... as i feel they don't even like cars its just a quick buck.. to be fair i have a full time (shift work) job that pays my bills etc this is just something on the side not really to make money its just something i have a passion for and want to see where it can take me been searching around on sites and forums.. as well as meguiar's forum.. all been a great help

I am trying to start a valeting business.. please read / please help.. I was going to go into selling cars but that was just a massive can of worms.. Well you all know i have a passion for cars. I have spent the last year perfecting my valeting skills, and after a lot of people have been very happy with my work i want to start doing this properly of a weekend for people. I only ever use meguiar's products for the best finishes, from just a wash and wax to a full inside out full valet and paint renovating/machine polishing company name not fully confirmed yet, but the car will be "cleaned with a passion" Please see pictures for example of what i can achieve, a none swirl finish with depth and colour on a normal family car that started faded and lifeless.. and yeah i will be doing all nooks a cranies and door shuts within the next week expect to have fully liability insurance sorted as well as traders insurance please no mocking as this is serious and something i have wanted to do for a long time Any this is not advertising hence why i not put down contact details or where i am . more of any help from people of how i can get this off the ground.. at the moment i am working off of word of mouth. hope this does not infringe on any club rules.. Already got a friend of a friend of a friend's evo 10 booked.. (he has been using the god awful £5 washers where they use cheap nasty products. but he has seen some of my work and booked it in straight away.. i will want to become a authorized trader on this site as it takes off. nope that was till the red light come on.. i tend to drive it quite hard as its only a weekend toy.. should i be getting more.. should i be looking at oxy sensor .. all seems to run fine.. although sometimes idles at just over a 1000 for no apparent reason..

i was trying to decide what to do weather to sell both (supra and corsa) and buy one "fun" car.. but after a week of swearing at the supra i mot'd it and remembered there is no way i can sell i t.. i love it to darn much... so it was then a case of i gotta upgrade the corsa really as since jan we have hacked up 8500 miles in it.. and i would like to put lil d in something a bit better when we are doing motorway miles.. picked it up last night wel pleased drives really well and has all the extras... a nice upgrade from the corsa my beasts together stereo is in and wires in for sub.

as above really.. we live on a very quite road mostly retired we know of 6 people in the last week that have had nails put through their tires.. now we are quite lucky because all my cars are stored round the back of the house and we have motion lights.. and no one really knows the are are there but i keep meaning to put up some cctv expecially for the supra.. any recomendations.. i don't wanna spend loads.. but would like something reasonable... ta

Hi all. whilst having to change my hub and drive shaft.. got the hub off(that was a mission) undone the drive shaft bolts.. and rather than the drive shaft coming off from the diff plate.. it pulled the shaft out of the diff.. (small short one) now when i have the drive shaft off it this okay just ot push back in?? and any ideas how to separate the drive shaft of.. so far very bolt has been a rusted mission.... cheers

(all cars have them i never believe people who say the car is perfect) but there is nothing major with this O/s rear window tint is marked The outside air temp sender for the dash temp (weather temp not engine and has no effect on how the engine runs) does not work.. although i will try and replace before selling Unfortunately the alloys do have some kerbing on them thats it.. there is the car. thanks for the info..yeah i am after a nice communal tank but want lots of colour and veriaty.. we had something at work which cleaned the glass ugly bugger and he grew.. he grew big...not sure what it was but gonna get one of them i have some wood to go in the but need to soak it before it goes in I am defo after a shoal of fish.. i think would look good in the tank.. going to a good fish shop been recommened by a few people at the weekend see what they are like there and how htey will help with picking the fish.. I woudl like it to look quite "busy" with fish.. but obv don't want to over crowd them ill keep this thead updated as the fish "slowly" get added
