  1. nght rider quoted me around 1800 for a blow over then there was going to be a bit extra for fitting a trial rear and spraying it.
  2. all it needs now is a place in the boot for some gas canisters and some fuel and we have a ready made car for taking to airports around the country!!!!!!!!!
  3. 21 Fd Sqn (EOD) Royal Engineers at saffron walden in cambridge, do you know it?
  4. no sorry mate that name dont ring a bell, EOD for some reason seem to take over halfway through the conventional tour cycle, i did work with the para's in Al Muthanna but not on a names basis just going out on jobs.
  5. running fast over a set distance say between 3 lamp post then jogging over a set distance say 4 lamp posts, do this a few times and you really feel the benefit, i do this training at work around the camp and that route has some hills on it to make it intresting!!
  6. is your place on the camp like at wimbish or are you away from the barracks? all i'm thinking is the correct way if your place is on camp then the ROO should know first then he can call in the monkies, might rub people up the wrong way if you do the monkies first, all that stuff about chain of comd and all that. although if its off camp and mil property then the monkies will be better bet. richie
  7. It's not a bad job, been all over the world doing it, been to some nice countries Iraq!, kosovo, Bosnia and kenya. its like big boys toys!! i get out at christmas having done 15 years:( just spending to much time away from home and its pretty dangerous now in these places. so if anyone needs a sparky from christmas onwards around the northants area then work would be appreciated. cheers richie
  8. its funny you know, last time i had trouble with them there was a Lcpl in the group, so thinking that he was the so called leader of the guys i approached him, only to be informed that one of the sappers was in charge as his dad held a higher job in fiji, might be worth considering as cass says find there tribal boss and speak to him. i know its a funny way to deal with but it might be worth a try, if all else fails next time there is trouble get the ROO paged and he can deal with it. richie
  9. i'll second that, i have had run ins with them before when i have been on duty at one of my old camps, the were a nightmare, they used to get mega drunk and want to fight each other fortunatly! however there were occasions when the guard had to be called to sort the problem out, if you have a word, in my experiance they normally sort them selves out and they do become good mates, i have a few on camp here. it might of been just high jinks because of moving into a new house, fingers crossed it was. have you not got a rattle on your car that only comes in at 5500 Rpm,and has to be held there for maybe 4-5 mins for it to take effect that you need to sort this morning!!!!!!! richie
  10. No i am a Bomb Disposal Officer, we use this rifle sometimes if the mood takes or if there is enough room infront of us in case we miss!!!! need about 4Km!!
  11. AW50 sniper rifle, 1/2inch calibre we use them for shooting mines and sub munitions. its a monster richie

  14. there is a guy that me and jen have seen driving through Higham Ferres, its got a huge wing on the back, this was also spopted yesterday in ASDA underground carpark, i dont think they are on here though. richie
  15. Green leathers!!!!!!! what bike do you have? Black leathers always look good imo, match the helmet to the bike with a nice black visor!! richie
  16. yeh me and jen will come along no probs, thats guisgys new one the blue one!! its a tt he has pics up in his garage, looks very nice richie
  17. maybe some of the RAF lads on here can confirm that when flights were coming in and out of brize from Bosnia back around 93/94 that a RAF piolt said something in the region of, "Thankyou for flying with us, all you women on here that have been the centre of attention whilst 600 males have been away with you on tour over the last 6 months, welcome back to reality!!!" is it a myth? richie
  18. Nautical or normal road miles??????? richie
  19. your way would be ok as long as like previous have said you dont use anything flammable!!!! the main thing i have at the back of my mind in todays age is that if there is something that is available on the market to do the job then its there for a reason. I just dont like the thought that an insurance company could get out of paying out if there is a way!!! having said that though if you want to just keep the insulation away from the light then it should be ok!!!!!!!! the hoods are designed for if you place downlights in a place where there is living accom above them, ie in your kitchen if you have an upstairs. In your loft it is going to be plenty cold enough over the next few months to not have massive heat build up, although the lamps get sodding hot when they are on. go for the break in the insulation your way and it will prob suffice. hope this is enough info for you richie
