I had a crank pulley go on me the other day so thought I would order a new aux belt to go with it when we did the work.
Unfortunately when the new belt arrived it had a slight weird crease in it so I fitted it, but they sent me another one which I changed yesterday.
When I posted the problem originally I thought it was the PS pump and also said my orange oil can light came on when I started the car with the belt off.
When I changed the crank pulley & belt the first time we started the car & no orange oil can light was on, no problems.
Yesterday when I took the belt off to change it, my missus came home and wanted me to move the car out the way quickly so she could get past with hers.
So I just moved it forward 10m and straight back without the belt on, however as soon as I started the engine the orange oil light was on again?
I put the new aux belt on and the started it up the orange oil light was not on everything’s fine.
My question is why is this happening, I was told in my original post there are no sensors on anything the crank pulley is driving so whats causing this the alternator, water pump, PS pump or aircon?
Anyone know......... it’s really strange and bugging me as I cant find anything on why the orange oil light stays on perm with the aux belt off?
I have read if it flashes its low on oil?
