wallis replied to wallis's topic in Supra Chat
Hey guys, just waiting on the photos for the jza 80 engine still but will be this week, the bloke was in Romania unill yesterday morning...lol i didnt know:blink: However I do know it 100% has a loom and the millage was actually 79000km so its over 40000miles im affraid. It has a matching auto gearbox and will be complete with turbos now. Im just waiting on the bloke to tell me if he has the rad and coolers still as he cant remember? Im looking for £1500 all in or £1100 without the box or £900 without the box or turbos, you still have first dibbs on it mitch, i just need the photos to upload so u can see it, it will come with a months warrenty aswell. If mitch is not interested i think ray has sec dibbs with raven and monsween following. From my pms i dont think this is going to be around for long guys. cheers. -
Well things have been crazy this week so far, but after today i have now purchased everything apart from the EGT gauge. My whole set up after lots of great advise from loads of great peepz is now as follows. HKS 3037S Turbo Kit (GT30R) (Cheers Ade;)) HKS 660cc Inj Walbro 255 Fuel pump Full Race Spec Alloy Rad Fluidyne 30 row oil cooler (For Auto Box) AEM Stand alone ecu Apexi AVC-R Boost Controller Im really excited about the set-up and think it will run really well, im going to aim for 500bhp. Thx again to everyone, and craig ill get those slabs cooling for u mate;)

Poll: How old where you when you bought your first Supra?
wallis replied to Sgtbash's topic in Supra Chat
25 i think My first insurance for a j-spec with the wife on was £600 with 11 years ncb -
Thx again guys for the advise, it's seems the auto box can be a problem mapping for sure, I was intending to do all the work myself apart from the mapping and ecu side of things and my costing is nothing like 7-8k! I'm going to take the car else where now as this advise seems like it's come from many people who have done this, and I don't want to risk anything now from the comments so far on the auto box problem, thx again guys great advise all round cheers
-
Thx for advise mate, maybe im abit excited but agree it does want to be done once and done right corten millers are only an hour from me so i thought it was going to be quite practical for the project, maybe i am wrong!
-
Hey dude, thx for the input mate i understand u think i might be mad about not knowing what management im going to be using yet but i only decided today to go single and will find out hopefully what they can offer me by the end of this week. Maybe im just over excited and might have to have a re-think but im going to give these guys a chance, everyone starts some where there one of the countrys top evo and scooby tuners so they do know there stuff.
-
price is ok on these to it appears, sorry to ask jaime but would u buy one from USA direct or is there some where in the uk who stocks them at a good price? sexy looking thing too....me likey!
-
Ok mate cheers ill look into that now, jaime is it on a t4 flange? its just i have paid and ordered the manifold already!
-
cheers for the info on the gearbox cooler kit mate ill get one ordered Yeah brakes will be on the next list of things todo before next summer for sure.
-
thx for the advise mate spot on, im glad thats cleared up the fuel rail and injector side of things, so 650's will be fine to drop straight in and just change to a bigger fuel pump. Turbo wise its just because the price is right and ive read up there really solid and reliable, the kits are great but u pay through the nose for them, making it up yourself makes it abit more interesting to do, different i guess exciting! Ive got to ask what turbo would u go for mr P out of interest? Also i dont want to change my auto box/clutch so im only looking for 500-550bhp im not wanting to go crazy i do have a budget....lol
-
ill be happy with 500bhp im not power crazy! AFR gauge is already fitted with oil temp & boost bud, Im kool with these guys doing the work they know there stuff, just because its a supra and they havnt done one before doesnt mean they dont know what there doing, everyone keeps telling me how simple going single is compared to the twins setup.
-
ECU wise CM's are sorting out, its not going to be cheap but they said they will find away, i dont know what ecu they will go for at the moment its in their hands. Exhaust wise im fine i have a 3.5 inch straight through fitted now, downpipe i guess needs to fit my existing system so i think thats going to be down to CM's also to sort....lol Ive just bought a stainless Steel rad from japan which i hope will do the trick craig cooling wise?

I will have 100% confirmation on this by tommorrow night and possibly even some pics up for those interested;) -
I think my wife may leave me after this lot but after a few bad weeks with the car I have decided to go single I’m getting two second hand tubbies fitted next week to get the car moving again as a temp measure, then hopefully when I get all the parts sourced in the next month or so I’m going for it;) I’m quite excited as its being done at Corten Millers and this is going to be there first single supra they have ever done including the mapping so I guess it’s going to be pretty special for everyone involved. I’ve been well impressed with their knowledge and enthusiasm so far and after their front page article in banzai mag the other month I’m buzzing about the thought of these guys doing my single conversion! I think I have got everything covered but please do tell me if I have missed anything out, I also wanted to know if u can use the stock fuel rail for 650cc injectors or should I change it? Here’s my list so far: HKS T04R T4 Turbo (up to 600BHP 35psi) T4 Turbo Flanged SS T-304 manifold with 50mm Wastgate New ECU mapped by Corten Millers Apexi AVC-R Boost controller Apexi EGT Gauge 650cc Injectors High flow Fuel Rail ? Front mount cooler New Fuel Pump New gearbox cooler Oil/aux lines for new turbo BOV & Induction Kit. I’ve got everything apart from the injectors, Fuel rail, fuel pump & auto gear box cooler so any advise on this lot would be great guys plus if I’ve missed anything off the list.

Anyone after a complete low millage 2JZGTE TT engine?
wallis replied to wallis's topic in Supra Chat
Quick update, engine is complete with all auxilaries uncluding looms and possibly even rad and coolers but not 100% untill tommorrow, millage was just 40.000miles from j-spec and has just been out the car for 1 year in dry storage. I will get some pics tommorrow night but it seems a really good and well looked after car from the garage owner. This is not from a single conversion project, someone went into the back of his car and it was repaired but never drove right afterwards so broke the car for spares. His plan was to re use the engine and auto box in another supra, but is just to busy to do it, so now wants shot of the lot. The auto box is still on the engine and he wants £300 but again needs to 100% this tommorrow for me. Hope that helps a bit -

he went single with his car, which he has now sold but changed to a different engine type from a soarer i think when he did the conversion, he just took the whole lump out and its been sat in his workshop since. Im that desprate for some tubbies im now willing to do anything to get a good set:blink:
