Hey up guys, The Projects almost gone backwards in the last week or so! I was on holiday for a week and then after two days of being back was straight into hospital for an opp on my jaw:( Im still in pain now after having the opp last thursday, i tried to get some more stuff done on the project sat morning, but it all ended in tears when i popped a stitch out in my mouth from over straining....lol Just to add to the pain ive got myself in a right pickle with my new injectors as well.......lesson to be learnt here! I sourced some recon 550cc sard inj of fleebay, stating they were from a soarer/supra so i guessed they would be 2jz stock replacment ones, there was a part no on the add of 022 and some good pics, the part no was not showing anything so i checked out the inj on sards site and thought i had found them from the pics, High res side feed 2 nozzle so great put in an offer £200 bloke accepted straight away, happy days! stripped out my old injectors and stitches sat morning and when i compared them they were nothing like...bad times! So i spoke to the seller and he was a right prick, saying i should off not wasted his time and money bidding on them etc and would not give a refund even if i paid for the p&p back to him:( I then after a few more really enjoyable emails find out they came from a fuel rail he is also selling on fleebay from a mk4 driftcar? So he says to help me out i can have the rail for a discount price of £25 from £59, so i paid him the money sunday and hes not even got back to me yet after 3 emails to him? So as it is now, i have just wasted £225 on inj which dont fit, a fuel rail which i paid for which i dont have, inj which i still know nothing about, are they high/low res etc? Its great:) well hopefully this rail will turn up and i will get the injectors fitted, fingers crossed there high res ones, if there not i have no idea what to do....lol Anyways i did get some work done sat morning, I stripped the inlet manifold off to fit the new inj, which were wrong as u know:( I fitted the new walbro 255 fuel pump on the hanger and refitted. I fitted the sandwich plate with oil cooler lines, oil temp sensor, oil sender unit for pressure and new oil filter. I also managed to fit the AEM UEGO widband sensor in the downpipe and run the wires into the car for all that lot! I have a KET 6" LCD 6-1 Gauge which will be connecting to most these sensors so i wont have loads off gauges to look at, keep it simple and looks nice;) (See Link For Demo) Hopefully i will be well enough to start work again on the car this week so will keep u posted on progress guys, Cheers, m.

Dave if the cars had history with coil pack connectors i would defo have a look closely. U will get a fault code on ignition side, cant remember the code of the top of my head, but worth checking first, also if its a crank angle sensor error code this can also read as a fault code for coil packs/bad connection. The one that appears to be the most commom for your fault is the two connectors which come out from the back of the block (Off The coilpack loom)and into sensors on the turbo side of things. Check these 2 clips are not perished and reclip them in after a good inspection, after that try to start her up and see what happens? If nothing then I would check all the coil pack clips and inners to make sure there all ok, u will know straight away if there fooked they normally fall to bits in your hands. As your taking the coil pack clips out to look I would also quickly whip out your coil packs to check for hair line cracks coming up from the blue rubber seals, another really common fault on old supras, a faulty coil pack will give u similar faults to yours. Also check the earth strap is tight/connected at the back/right of the block connecting to the bulkhead, these rot out and and become loose, which can also give similar faults! A little tip Dave as well for coil pack clips is to go to a breakers yard and rob them from almost any Renault (Magana etc)as there the same, or go into a Renault dealership give them the same part no as Toyota for coil pack clips and there 1/5th price and same part no.....makes me sick;)

i had a problem just like this a few years back after a spirited drive, I pulled up to a mates house, went inside for a while, came out and when i went to drive off it almost cut out with no power? The car on idle was fine as soon as u touched the acc pedal it almost stalled, the car was not in gear either, if u tried to floor it, it only went to about 1700rpm. AA recovered it to my local speacialists and after a closer inspection it was reading an error code for the crank angle sensor. So had that changed at the cost of about £600, bloke then tried to test drive my car and as soon as he popped it into drive, same fault again! Turns out after allot of messing about it was just a clip from the coil pack loom (the one at the back of the block that goes into the turbo pipes) had slightly popped out, clip was clipped back in and sorted straight away.....i was gutted i had just wasted £600 but atleast my car was fixed! I would defo check all your clips on the coil pack loom buddy and see if this fixes it? Cheers, m.

Ive seen the collars on there site, but dont think they will work, sards inj website has the same injector i have, but its a 2 hole nozzle low res sidefeed, my inj look the same but are only one hole inj, so im none the wiser?? I think there from something else now, possible 1jz or something?? well one things for sure im not fitting them now, which has buggered my plans up for the weekends work load!
-
cheers chris, im thinking the same about not sealing with the o-rings being all diff also, unless ive been sent the wrong injectors by mistake these im guessing are for something else?
-
Really need some help with my new inj please see link to post below. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=228729 Any help would be great guys

Hey guys just fitting my new sard 550cc inj (red ones) and when i took my old j-spec ones out (grey Ones) there well diff, the 550cc's do fit my j-spec rail but the o-ring seals are all diff? (see pics) Also when u fit them they do go into my rail but theres a 1-2mm gap when u refit the injector back plates holding them in?? Anyone shed any light on this or are they ok or not? I was told when i bought these new injectors they were sard as well but they say denso on them also? Are these stock uk inj, and do uk inj fit straight into j-spec fuel rail?? Any help would be awesome guys

really looking good mate, turbo looks awsome its defo starting to all come together now

You can read up loads on this, enough to send u crazy! I think pumps are all down to what size injectors and bhp u want to run and what ecu u have. I'm aiming for 500rwbhp and am running a single 325lph pump, which is plenty for I need. However if your wanting to run really big power a 325lph pump is not really going to cope with the demands. This is why u can then get double/ tripple hangers with multiple pump setups, dependant on what your going for.

honestly this is the first time in 5 years that I've got my hands dirty! I used to have a bodyshop for 10 years, but sold up, I've just always been into cars, last big job I did was on my Audi a6 2.8 v6, got it upto 390bhp, with 100bhp of nos....that was crazy fast! Cheers for the comments mate :-)

lol......its been abit longer than a week Im defo starting to feel it working 12 hour+ days, getting home then doing work on the car! Im hoping in 3-4 weeks it will be completly finished, mapped and all;) Sourcing the parts and getting them is the hard part, i refuse to pay some of these uk/europe prices for stuff u can get for half the price, the other side of the world! Only downside is it takes longer to get the parts Cheers for the comments.
