vvtiguy doesnt the 2s bell housing position the starter awkwardly next to the turbo??? Interested because we are doing a is200 3sgte transplant and I bought a full altezza box to deal with this issue
-Sanj getting a plate made is easy enough, we need to consider your turbo postion and the starter, idealy we want the starter under the intake manifold not the turbo side of the engine which most rwd stock toyota boxes will be, the bell housing from a altezza can be modified to fit pretty much any box you select which will allow you to bolt straight up to the 3sgte, from what I have researched, its most likely the clutch and flywheel will need replacing whichever combo you use, as on rwd cars the starter bolts up from the engine side rather than the box side like the mr2 which means contact between the starter and flywheel wont be correct.
The route I would take is.
Altezza bellhousing/flywheel/starter mated to the w58 box. As its the simplest bolt up once the measurement/machining/welding is done.
Unless of couse the 2s bellousing leaves the starer under the intake manifold.
Will look into it.
