  1. Yep, went to Osaka and stopped by Universal more or less by chance as we were in the Aquarium on the other side of the harbour. Oh...My...God... there were so many people it was insane! Now, i've been to Universal in both Florida and California but that was just deserted compared to this... And many people there were dressed up for halloween for some reason (well, other than it being halloween i guess). I stick to my claim; people in Japan are weeeeird :-D
  2. Yeah! Whats up with the insanely noisy gaming arcades jammed with suit wearing people playing with buckets full of metal balls. Too strange.. But not as strange as the gaming centers with the "big claw games". Back here you would catch a cell phone or something. But in these places you catch a bag of chips or maybe some deturgent.. "Woo-f%&ing-hoo! I wan some dish wasing liquid"... I don't get it - Don't remember if it had a rear spoiler. Just got a glimpse.
  3. Cool! I saw the Technical Centre. Had a quick envious though towards it as I would think some exciting things happen there. Well at least back when the Supra was being deveoped ;-) I also saw a tricked out silver supra driving past the entrance to the bus parking. Didn't get a pic though.. Do you know that one? It was the only two supras I saw in the whole three weeks around Japan. Saw lots of RX-7's, Skylines and so. Have all the j-specs gone to the UK and Scandinavia? I didn't take to the heated seats. They kept making me think someone just sat there for ages...
  4. As a side note, I think the factory tour (which I wasn't allowed to document) wasn't the best. VW does a better one in Wolfsburg, DE. One thing though; when these japanese guys are assembling cars they constantly play some weird versions of classic rock and pop songs. However, these versions are made with beep-beep sounds. Just lika an old Atari or console game from the mid 80'ies. Really, really weird. I almost went insane for the hour i spend there. How they handle it day in, day out is a mystery to me...
  5. 10 hours. + probably 1 1/2 from the UK. SAS are promoting some good prices now. Roughly 700£ round trip.
  6. Yep, looking down.. I took pictures of all toilets on the trip to make a collage of it. Just because they are so mental. This one wasn't as trick as some of the more elaborate with build in pressure sensors, heat and all kinds of funny business
  7. There is a museum, but that was outside Tokyo and we nevet got around to go out there :-( - didn't get to go to any of the cool dealerships either, and TOM's was closed when I drove by, leaving Tokyo (in a Prius... 100% loyal!!)
  8. Great. I will see if i can get it off. I just occurred to me that I will be in the London area on thursday, so if I can get it "cheapish" from a dealership there I will go for it. Else I will bring it with me a send it to you from there.
  9. They quoted me something like 800£!!!?!! That cannot be right? I can't find the post now with the pricing from toyota UK but I seem to recall 250£ or so. I would gladly pay that. Champion Toyota in the US have them for 260US$ You do the refurb of the bearings for something like 110£ as far as I saw somewhere, right? Plus postage to DK

  11. Just been three weeks in Japan, and of cause, had to stop by Toyota City. Toyota City actually being a city in central Japan renamed by Toyota. It functions as a regular city, just having a lot of factories and suppliers for Toyota in the vicinity. http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120250.jpg Toyota City sign (look closely and you will see it in writing) http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120254.jpg Hurray! Spottet a supra, first (out of only two) spottet in the whole 3 weeks I was there. Rare car, even in Japan. http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120258.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120259.jpg Toyota Kaitan - headquarters for visits http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120261.jpg Japanese perfection http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120262.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120264.jpg Toyota Headquarters http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120265.jpg Just documenting that EVERYTHING there is called something with "Toyota" http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120266.jpg Mr. Toyoda (yes, spelled like that) http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120272.jpg Weirdo car http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120273.jpg Try, feel, touch, sit, test.... http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120274.jpg The LF-A Nürburgring racer http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120275.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120276.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120277.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120278.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120279.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120280.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120282.jpg http://idisk.me.com/stefanbovien/Public/toyota_city/PA120285.jpg YES! Supra pedigree!!!
  12. Though so - but I'm guessing I will know definatly if I take the pulley off and check for play in the axle/shaft, right? I have tried rocking to pulley back and forth but that doesn't move at all Thanks for the offer. I will get back to you on that if Toyota quotes me silly money.
  13. I saw that in an old post, Chris. That might be interesting. I'm just now waiting for a quote from local Mr. T. You don't have any lying around, so we could do a swap, do you? I have checked the repair manual where there is a section on rebuilding them, buuuuut that seemed a bit steep Btw, what is the chance if it being fixed by flushing with some new PS fluid?
  14. Grr.. just bought a set for 600£ and spend another 300£+ to get them painted in...yes... anthrasite.. typical.. ;-)
  15. Good info here. I was wandering the same as I will soon swap in some EU spec brakes. It is the bolts for mounting the calipers to the car we are talking about, right?
  16. Any way of getting them shipped to Denmark? I would maybe order two sets as they do tend to wear quicker on the drivers side for some reason.. - or (I know, being a bit trouble some here) any way of just ordering the drivers mat? I would happely buy 3 or 4 of these if as I have an extra set of the others already) If so, what would pricing be? Thanks man! PS. Just let me know if its too annoying to deal with, me being in DK and all. I'll understand
  17. I'm guessing that as well. Found a post saying that it could disintegrate and take the rack with it... So I'm guessing I should keep the driving to a minimum untill I get a new pump on? If the bearing are going, would the noise change when I turn the wheel? I don't think it does. Only heard the screeching at idle with a cold engine and it changes with the revs.
  18. Aaah... Tip-ex... Really wondered about that name until I saw the name on the box buying some. Here in dk, it just goes by the name of 'screw-up ink'.. Well, tried the test and it doesn't seem to move at all, but I have also only tired it at idle and a bit of dapping the throttle. But while I sat wih my head down there close to the fan, it seems like the screechin comes from the power steering / vane pumo in stead. If so, should I worry about that? I just gave the pumpe a bit WD-40, which seemed to stop the screeching at idle. It still gives up a bit of sound when revving just a bit. I think it stops when it warms up, but I'm not 100%. Will test when it stops raining..
  19. My drive belt is screeching even though it is almost new as it was changed at the same time as my water pump and belt tensioner. The car has done maybe 2000 miles or so since then and is parked in a garage where it is never really cold or hot. Any ideas?
  20. Are you talking about the Repair Manual? http://mkiv.com/manual/index.html
  21. Buy it and stow it in my Danish garage :-) - its way less than I paid for my stock 93 RZ here in DK would be a disgrace to not keep it stock... Build on a 'normal' soop
  22. Does anyone have experience taking a ARDS test including some driving sessions at a near london track? If so, what companies and itiniary would you suggest?
  23. Lets know what you find. There are such a wide selection of seats that it MUST be possible to find a decent set that are close to the OEMs for a reasonable price (which I would say is around the 1.5k£ in leather/alcantara)
  24. Standard they came in cloth with a fancy 90'ies pattern. They are really nice like some have have done in leather. But also REALLY expensive. Just saw a post on it on supraforums. I think it came to 5300 USD for a set from new. For that price there are better and nicer seats out there. If you are lucky you can find a nice set used but the price + to have them done in leather ends up in more or less the same as some top spec from Sparco or whatever..
