That would have been a MKII. Very good cars...!! My 55 plate Passat was a joy to drive on the motorway, very quiet..... Unfortunately this model was prone to a few faults and subsequently I wouldn't have another. H.

At 23 I would want a manual tbh. When you get to 35 you consider things differently. You'll like comfy chairs, a soft bed and a pipe and slippers..... H.

I thought that the auto box was only good for about 400 - 450. I doubt that the power advertised would be correct anyway. H.

Why not? Plenty of 5 speed conversions around without any issues. H.
