  1. Now my supes running well, whats the next upgrade for more power? I assume the next step will be electronics and remove first cat Mods so far are: Apexi induction (Now inside air box) Walbro pump 3" exhaust system, second cat removed, first cat still in. Boost gauge Slippery slope syndrome has started.
  2. The grey stuff around it is heat shrink edging, it also glues itself when you heat it. Price sounds good, probably send it off to you soon.
  3. I made an extension piece for both of the intakes. The one under the headlight is a bit short to go directly into the box, so I bent a strip of ally to fit fairly tight around it to extend it. I'll take another pic of it to show you.
  4. Might take you up on that, how much?
  5. Would like to, but not sure what too use yet as I would expect it would need to fire proof, ideas are welcome.
  6. Thanks for the good comments guys, not done any sheet metal work for a long long time, so I was quite suprised with myself that it actually fitted. Yes mate, it uses both the original intakes, although the one that comes from under the headlight was a PITA to cut a hole for without removing the headlight, so on this one the hole is a bit bigger for some extra movement. I will tidy up the cardboard template, take some measurments from it and post it up on here. Orders now being taken.
  7. After plenty of cutting and filing to size I finished the air box last week. Now the supes running properly, the enclosed filter does seem to make a difference. I need to get some temperatures when the airbox is in and take it out to see any change in temps, hopefully should be lower with the new airbox. This was a bit of trial and error getting it to fit, I need to remove it again it take a small amount off the bottom as its lifting the bonnet slightly, but apart from that it seems to be a good fit. The white stuff all over it is a protective plastic cover that peels off.
  8. Martin, I bought a cheap Fiesta a few years ago for £175, insurance is cheap at about £110 TPFT. I use it mainly during the week to save on the mileage and running costs of the supe. If I used the supe everyday the petrol and servicing costs would definately be more than the cost of the second car. Plus every weekend it feels like you've got a new car. I still do about 6000 miles per year in the supe though.
  9. While its running ok, yes. If it goes wrong I go even more gray thinking how much its going to cost.
  10. Changed the piece of split hose from the fuel pump to the fuel outlet inside the fuel tank, problem has now gone. Starts up straight away, even when hot and no holding back from standing start. Now it goes like it should.

    bad day

Sorry to hear that Jamie. Always try to stay positive, my dad was diagnosed with cancer of the bowel 3 years ago, but the hospital is keeping it under control and he's just got another 3 months all clear until the next check up. Hope the same can apply to your dad too. Best of luck mate. Mark
  12. Might have found the problem. Removed the fuel pump assembly to check the pump filter and noticed a huge split in the rubber pipe that connects the pump outlet to the fuel pipe. Looks like whoever fitted the walbro pump cut the steel pipe back a bit but left a burr on it and over time has cut through the rubber pipe. I'll get a new piece of fuel pipe tomorrow and hopefully this will cure the holding back and poor starting. Thought I was doing quite on fuel consumption, most of its leaking back in to the petrol tank.
  13. I checked for error codes tonight but none were stored. I reset the ecu about a week ago and driven it everyday since then, but nothing has shown up.
  14. This sounds familiar. Trying to sort this problem myself.
  15. Problem starting when cold, once it fires it feels lumpy for a few seconds then smooths out. Also a b**tard to start when hot as well, lumpy as hell for some time, even had to turn it off and start it again to try and clear it. sometimes it hesitates quite badly from pull away until it revs to about 2200, then no.1 kicks in. Other times its not so bad. It just doesnt feel like its pulling like it should. My previous supe felt much quicker from pull away and that was pretty much standard.
  16. Just checked the voltage on the O2 sensor and its going between 0 and about 0.6 - 0.7v. I printed Mayby's thread and it says that it should hunt between 0.5 and 0.7v. Is mine OK or is it knackered. I'm gradually working through checking different parts to see what the problem is.

You may have fallen on your feet so far, but it won't last forever. Have you ever thought about a more rewarding pastime? (Emotionally that is…) Based on your answers, we have calculated the maximum penalty for your crimes*: Years in prison: 106.5 Potential fine: £2000 Blimey, bit harsh for a knuckle shuffle.
