  1. Yes it ticks over ok when stationery. I did think it might be a fuelling issue but then why does the problem not occur all of the time?
  2. When accelerating at slow speeds the car almost holds back then suddenly bursts into life. It also does this at higher speeds but to a lessor extent. Can be a bit dodgy especially when pulling away from junctions etc because it hardly moves! It doesn't do it all the time so not sure what the issue is. The gearbox was suggested as the problem to start with but after getting it swapped I still had the same issues! The o/d light is continually flashing and it runs very rich but not sure if all the symptoms are related. I've taken it to Toyota (bloody useless) and a couple of other garages locally but they don't have a clue. I have looked at the error codes and got a 42 at one point but after resetting the ecu it hasn't returned. Any clue what the problem might be?
  3. I will probably be looking to book mine in soon as I have been having issues for months (I don't think it is the turbos though) and can't seem to get anyone to sort it locally!
  4. It's the facelift four spoke with air bag (large centre piece). There are 2 panels (1 each side) that come off but I can't see any screws!
  5. As title suggests I have been trying to get the front part of the wheel off as my horn has stopped working and I wanted to check the connection. There doesn't appear to be an obvious way of doing it! It's the facelift wheel by-the-way (not the spoked one). Any ideas would be appreciated.
  6. Maybe I spoke too soon as the light is coming back on again! I assume if the ecu is reset then it should go off again?
  7. Yes, electrics can be a bloody nightmare! Will leave to the professionals next time!
  8. I think it was the removal of the turbo timer that caused the issue as I have re-connected and the light no longer comes on. I think I will leave it alone in future
  9. Yesterday I noticed that the orange O/D light for the auto box is starting to flash. Not sure how long it has been doing it as it was obscured by a turbo timer mounted behind the steering wheel (now removed). Any ideas what would cause this to flash?
  10. They were the first things to be checked! Anyone want to buy an RSP Supra!
  11. When I took it into Eurospec in Guildford they said there was nothing wrong from that side so I assume they didn't see any fault codes. Not sure whether to take it back there or not because they didn't exactly fill me with confidence!
  12. Turns over a bit before starting but generally ok.
  13. It tends to be much worse when in lower gear or from standstill when the engine is cold. Also when the engine is at temperature if you put your foot down you can feel that it is not pulling like it should (occurs in higher gears). Full auto mode not manual hold.
  14. I managed to get hold of a second hand autobox and torque converter (thanks Kraig) and had these fitted yesterday. Driving from cold today the issues were exactly the same as before so I suspect it wasn't the box or torque converter that was the problem! Maybe the vacuum pipes or something else?
  15. I wonder if anyone can tell me if the auto box is the same unit for pre-facelift and facelift models please? Might need to change mine soon so I need to make sure I get the correct one!
  16. Yes it does sound similar to what you describe. Was yours worse when the engine was cold?
  17. I have been having some issues with the car recently. The symtoms are that when it is cold if you put your foot down the car almost holds back then will suddenly burst into life (sometimes causing the rear wheels to spin). It will also do this when the engine is hot but to a lessor extent. Not knowing exactly what the problem might be I took it into Eurospec in Guildford and they checked the car over and advised that there didn't appear to be any issues with the engine but thought it might be the gearbox (it's a TT auto by-the-way). Their first course of action was to change the gearbox oil and filter. This has been done but has made no difference at all. Could there still be other areas of the gearbox that need to be addressed? Any advise welcome!
  18. Chris, I've sent an email to [email protected] with some details and pictures. Let me know if you need anything else. Cheers, Stuart
  19. Cheers Chris. I will have a look over the weekend and let you know.
  20. I think mine is on it's way out as well so mght be interested in one of these. Mines a facelift model, can anyone confirm if the rad is the same as the pre-facelift model?
