Huh cheek!!!
EY better than PwC - never!!!
You obviously dont read your CA magazine anymore which shows PwC to be the number 1 ranked firm in the world over most categories.
Still hate working for them though - they get their pound of flesh out of you and then some!
Supra-Man - me spend money??? Moi?? I mean you think it'd be the biggest cheap skate ever not only am i an accountant but i'm scottish!!
Just be confident in the interview without being arrogant. There are a number of key questions that they focus on during the 1st interview process. Ones such as what have you done to further your career in accounting. Try to have a good answer to why you want to work there...and money aint the correct answer!
Another big one is examples of team work and leadership. PwC are very keen on their ideology just now of Connectedthinking ..which is supposed to be everyone working for the good of the company..blah blah..basically work harder to put even more money in the partners' wallets.
But i'd have good answers to those types of questions.
Additionally, have some questions ready yourself.
Maybe things like - what oppurtuity is there to work on a variety of clients from owner managed to listed?
Or...What has been the actual impact to PwC of the Enron and Sarbox legislation?
something like that. just think about some questions..maybe read the last few CA magazines to get some or the financial times.
You have things like the trends of large UK companies being sold off to foreign investors such as Scottish POwer. Think thats the 460th one this year.
Maybe consider things like this if you get through to the partner interview
Cheers
