  1. If you want to do the `Math` I fill her up (full tank) at the start of the week and travel 36 miles a day up and down the dreaded M4! By the end of the week i`m usually left with about a quarter of a tank. Never bothered to work out the MPG myself (too scary!!)
  2. Just done it and it worked no problem! Thanks for the advice.
  3. I would love to, but as with all stupid American companies we work quarterly and Friday 30th will be my most crucial day...... need to earn the money to keep the Sup running !!! To be honest any mid-day week meets would be tricky. Well up for any out of `school` hour activities though!
  4. I really am no expert but you might want to check this out on MKIV.com as it could point you in the right direction: http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/failed_lamp_sensor_fix/index.html
  5. Thanks for that. Just so I am absolutely clear, my understanding of the above method is to just get two pieces of wire, fix them into the TC and AB points in the diagnosic cap and then touch the negative battery terminal in alternation till it goes out with the ignition on? Is that right?
  6. I need to reset the air bag light and found this on MKIV.COM, has anyone actually tried this? Does it work? Could this cause any damage to the ECU etc. How to turn off the airbag light: Problem: Disconnecting the connector behind the upper dash piece where the odometer is located while the ignition key is turned on will result in the airbag light staying on. Here's how to turn it off : Go under the hood and open the diagnostic cap located on the passenger-side near the firewall (see photo). Look for AB & TC. Make two plugs with wire to fit into these connectors. With the ignition key turned to the ON position alternate the two wires to the negative terminal of the battery. They need to be done in a consistent rhythm, about one second apart. TC,AB,TC,AB,TC,AB... This needs to be done several times. If you can't get it to work, try adjusting the speed. It is helpful to have someone look at the airbag light while performing this to let you know when the light goes out/blink.
  7. Top Draw!! Lights look great. I really need to split one of my lights (usual foggy look) but dont want to end up making a `dogs breakfast` of it. Do you have any tips on going about this?
  8. Great work! Do they really come up this good or is it just `soft` mood lighting and David Bayley camera work!! I have had to change the NS on mine for a new one, and now the OS looks shocking! (a bit like a beautiful girl with a squint!) Gonna have to do something, may have to contact you guys in the near future when I can afford to have the car off the road for a week.
  9. Cheers for the input guys. Homer did take it out but as usual with Reading it was basically `gridlock` everywhere so we could not really get it up to speed to check properly. I will run her up tomorrow on the way to work to be sure that No2 is coming in OK, but to my knowledge everything on 2 seems to be fine. No unusual loss in power etc.
  10. Homer.... Thanks once again for meeting me to take a look at the car, its refreshing to talk to another Supra owner. Most of my friends have joined the `Mondeo` club ZZZZzzzz Really appreciate your time and effort! To add to your comments (if it helps, and is relevant) there is also occasionally a `wooooo` noise. As Homer pointed out to my relief, not the `Death Whine` but a sound almost like your humming softly through a cazoo! I guess this points to an air leak again and/or could be where I put a split in the brittle pipes to the BOV, as to be honest I did not hear this noise up until I changed the BOV. (NB new pipes on order with Toyota).
  11. Homer.... I would be really grateful for that! I only live just up the road from Whitley. I would be back from work around 6:00, is sometime in the evening good for you?
  12. Sounds like we are wandering into the realms of Mr Mechanic and his `random number generating` calculator !!!! As my technical understanding of this part of the system is limited to say the least. Could the symptoms I am experiencing come from a leak somewhere in one of the pipes or joins? All looks OK, but its hard to be sure there is no air leak.
  13. MMmmmm... The symptoms fit. It does sound a bit like a ralley car backing off (the noise I dont mind, the cause of it I do!!) ;0) How could I go about checking for this? Any ideas?
  14. I think the second turbo is coming in, although since this problem has started I have tried to drive it carefully as I dont know if I will be making it worse. If I just drive it up to the point that the first turbo spools up and back off you get the `flutter` (no where near the point where the second turbo would come in).
  15. Still no change !!! I have fitted another standard BOV (thanks Burt for the supply of this, really appreciated). However, no change, its still giving out a `fluttered` air dump. :thumbdown Does anyone have any other ideas what might be going on?
  16. Peugeot 106 1.1 (wow what a sorcher!) Triumph Dolomite Sprint (or should I say `dolop of sh**e) Sierra 1.6 Triumph TR7 2.0 (spend thousands, stood back and watched it rot) Peugeot 1.6 GTI (tremendous fun) Peugeot 2.0 MI16 (brilliant) Supra TT (love it!)
  17. Cool number plate, `CLUB DJ` in black and silver! PS. with the plate modified like you have got it how do you avoid getting pulled every 10 minutes by Mr Plod????
  18. Hi I am new to the site and cant seem to get my own Avatar onto my profile? Where am I going wrong? Cheers
  19. Burt: Thanks for your posting. It looks like i`m gonna have to do something so would be interested in the BOV. What would you be looking for it? Homer: Thanks again. I`ve seen a few guys round Reading, two cars spring to mind, one similar to mine in silver with muti-spoke alloys and another `well tricked up` Supra, I actually spoke to the guy for about 20 seconds at some traffic lights ages ago, I think he may be a member, from memory I think he said his name was `DASH`? Out of interest where do you guys go to get service work etc done on your cars locally?
  20. Thanks for the response. Its a standard BOV. If it is sticking should I be worried? Homer. Yes I do have a silver TT with the number plate `VIL ****`, have you seen me around?
  21. Can you help? I have a 93 MK1V TT (auto) that I have had now for about 3 yrs. Very recently I have noticed that when the first turbo spools up and you back off the gas the waste air noise has changed? Instead of the single `tssssssssh` noise I am now getting a staggard air release that has the a series of smaller `tssssh tsssh tssh tsh` sounds after the main air release? Note. Theres no fancy stuff under the hood, just an HKS air filter, the rest is standard. Untechnical as I am does anyone know what might be the cause of this?
