  1. checked that when i replaced the inlet manifold... afraid its all working fine
  2. Right then, 1st of all i would like to say a thanks to all who have helpped with suggesting what could be causing my problem. little recap of what the problem is: my car has recently felt like its lost power. It seems to be a bit down on power but then above 5-5.5k revs the power loss is quite bad. the only way I can really explain it is its like driving a diesel car, you know when no matter how much u rev it it just wont go any faster. I have had a new air flow temperature thingy fitted (located on the induction kit) and that has made it rev better up to 5-5.5k ish but not helped above that. the power just dies after 5.5-6 ish So far i have done the following: removed both o2 sensors and cleaned them New DIzzy Cap New Rotor arm New plugs Checked the diagnostics and that came back with no faults this has helpped a little. i also have a new fuel filter to put on tomorrow. but i still have this problem. not sure what else i can do. once i replaced the o2 sensors i reset the ecu. ran the car a week so or so and then fitted all the new parts in the list above. would another ecu reset help at all or not ? someone did mention that if my exhaust was blowing that could lead to a false read out from the o2 sensors. i think it is blowing a little but getting fixed tomorrow hopefully. could that be the cause of this problem? any other suggestions would be great as have run out of ideas!
  3. see this thread, should hopefully give you some ideas... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=41927
  4. was gonna ask if you were off on this: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=60071 but im guessing that will be a no...
  5. cheers fella. Hope to see you on the road soon!
  6. Hi mate, be interested to see if this fixes the problem. if it does i think its a must for my car... where are you getting your parts from (dizzy cap leads etc) Hope you get the car sorted!! cheers mate
  7. Had a chat to Toyota parts and I think I only need one gasket. gonna order to tomorrow and hopefully have a go at the plugs next weekend. When people refer to the 'dizzy cap' im guessing that's the distributor cap right? Any idea where I should be buying the gasket and other standard parts such as ht leads, fuel filter etc?? Cheers for all the help. Amazed how helpful the people in this club are. Going to have to get to some meets this year and meet some of you!!
  8. thats great, thanks!! some really good stuf. just one question. did you replace any of the gaskets when you replaced your plugs? thanks Steve
  9. ok, so i have now done the diagnostics thing and its all working fine. think the next thing is to change the plugs and fuel filter. BUt!! please tell me there is an easy way to get the middle two plugs out?!!
  10. says its for a 6 speed mate. isnt yours 5 like mine??
  11. 1st seems ok, 2nd is slightly worse 3rd and 4th are really bad. cant redline in 5th as im still limited... exhaust is a nur spec. just the back box and has been on since i bought the car. i did get the back cat removed but that shoul only improve things, right? no idea what plugs, they were put in when i had it serviced. what make do you use? dosent sound like misfire... saw this didnt know if it was worth doing: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=35920&highlight=check+error+codes
  12. ok, i have put the sensors back in , reset the ECU and taken it for a spin, went for 10 miles under 4000revs and then thrashed it. still have the same problem.... SHIT! any ideas what it could be. Nic would replacing the sensors fix the loss of power at 5.5-6.5k revs? really have no idea what i can do. i would be greatful in anyone has and ideas! thanks steve
  13. thanks, the look pretty clean now. just gonna put them back on. see how it goes. not sure on the plugs august i think. about 3000 miles ago. if this feels any better i will probably invest in some new ones. Nic, does the price (69 i think is says) is that for one im guessing? do the TT's only one o2 sensor? and would changing the fuel filter make any difference? thanks for the help guys...
  14. Mainly for White Supra Boy 2 taken the two sensors off and they are currently getting soaked! took some pics: what do you think? are they Fu*ked? t:sos:
  15. thanks! i'll have a go later on today and put some pics up. when u reset the ecu go i have to take it steady driving for a whle or doesnt it matter?
  16. ok cheers i will try that, can i get to it without jacking the car up or is it a car in the air job?
  17. you now know why im waiting for my clutch to go! dont think it causes problems until it goes. the main thing is its fu**ing annoying!! sorry i cant be of any more help!!
  18. Please if you have any suggestions let me know, as I have none!! Ok morning folks, my car has recently felt like its lost power. It seems to be a bit down on power but then above 5-5.5k revs the power loss is quite bad. the only way I can really explain it is its like driving a diesel car, you know when no matter how much u rev it it just wont go any faster. I have had a new air flow temperature thingy fitted (located on the induction kit) and that has made it rev better up to the second cam coming on (5-5.5k ish) but not helped above that. I have read about people cleaning the O2 sensor, im not sure if that will help as I have no idea what it does (bit thick!!) and also would replacing the fuel filter help?? The fuel economy does seem to have gone down which does make me think it could be a fuelling fault... That’s about as much as I can tell you. I would really appreciate as much advice as you can give me please... a concerned Steve!!
  19. that im not totally sure on, im sure some of the other guys on here will know more. but basicaly they have to take the gear box out to replace it. so im guessing a similar price or a bit less than what u paid to have the new clutch replaced...
  20. sounds like the release bearing has started to go... have the same noise on my car but trying to hold out until i need a new clutch. Not an expensive part (23-35ish) but u quite labour intensive… Hope that helps!!
  21. a bar in chesterfield does it, u can win upto £100 worth of drinking vouchers!! Great Stuff!!
  22. i'll have to check that also... will pm you tom!
  23. I get: Shakin' Stevens - Green Door How it went i have no idea...
  24. my car has 9.5 rears... (my garage shows my old ones!) i will update my garage tomorrow and pm you
